Aya(dried tigernuts that one I don't like it for one day.
I still eat dry Aya till date. But we use it mostly to prepare Kunun zaki. It gives the Kunu a milki taste

The North have some rare fruits that are only found in the North. These fruits are highly nutritious.They are mostly grown in the desert and places without much rain.

Some of these fruits include Goruba (Doum fruit or Gingerbread fruit), Adua (Desert Date), Dabino (Date), Aya (Tiger nut), Samiyan Biri (Black Velvet Tamarind) etc.

There was a time I went to the South East of Nigeria and I witnessed, how Red Oil is processed in a Community, in Enugu.
These people make Red Oil in commercial quantity. Their red Oil is of good quality.


Almost every home in that Community produce Red Oil.

I served in Kurmin Musa, Kachia Local Government area of Kaduna State back in the days. Kachia is known as the Home of Ginger.

Yes. But the soil type affect the quality of Ginger. Kaduna produces the best quality of Ginger that can be exported and used as raw materials in most companies. This is due to their soil type.
