Job description
A non-governmental organisation seeks a full-time Program Assistant II for its agribusiness desk which is the sustainability plan of the organisation. The successful candidate will be required to work from the organisation’s office and farm site(s) in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria.

The agribusiness department of the organisation addresses issues around value chain development for agribusiness actors and also runs its own facility where production of vegetables is on-going.

The Program Assistant will be expected to provide general and operative support for the project by managing the farm and its operation. He or she will also provide advisory insight into how to grow the project and coordinate human (farm workers, contract staff and third parties) and material resources to ensure timely delivery on targets and goals. In addition, the program assistant will liaise with other Smallholder Farmers (SHFs) to fast track and smoothen designs for aggregation of vegetable with them. The Program assistant will also be expected to embark on occasional travels for trainings and also provide technical and capacity strengthening support to the agribusiness clusters that we work with. The prospective candidate must be a good negotiator and be skilled in reducing production cost to ensure profit is maximised by the venture. The role requires willingness to travel within and outside the region at short notice.

We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented candidate, who is a proactive problem-solver, excellent communicator (especially in Yoruba language) and team player. We are looking for a candidate who can work with little or no supervision and can excellently document processes and experiences on the job. We are looking for a bold candidate with street wisdom! A candidate with the ability to also share knowledge from his or her experience in vegetable production in a formal training setting is who we are looking for. He or she will report to the Programmes Manager.

Candidate Profile
• National Diploma or NCE in a relevant field of study or equivalent experience/education. HND holders who meet these qualifications are fine with the other terms may also apply.
• Fluency in English (average written and verbal skills) is required. Proficiency in other languages, especially Yoruba is a plus.
• Experience working on a farm in an administrative or technical role is desirable.
• Ability to use Microsoft office suite and ownership of a personal computer is desirable and preferred.

Remuneration and Location
A monthly remuneration of N25,000 is available for this role. The preferred staff should reside around Mokola, Idi-Ishin or Jericho axis.

I will sincerely advice that you combine the two. Most masters degree lectures are normally from 5pm daily. I don't know about the university of your choice but the university where I did my masters, our lectures starts fro 5pm to 9pm daily and 8am on Saturdays. I normally join for lectures by 6pm daily, as my job is in the banking industry. It won't be easy though but you can do it and be very successfull.

well, i was called for the test and interview in whytecleon for BSA which i went, three days later i was told to go to ibadan for a panel interview with wema which i did,, 10 dayslater i was texted by whtecleon to go for a Cbt test at their training school which i am doing? but my big question is why a Cbt after interview? and i applied for a 2 years masters at OAU , initially i did not know it is a contract job, i can decide to take it up cos of the experience, but i was told that a contract job is not considered as an experience. aw true is dat? should i just go for my masters or take up dis job, moreover wema was really interested in me cos i hav AICRM but am i really ready to use my knowledge for a contract job?
