Chapter 11

So many unsaid words,’hidden pain, tearful heart and dreadful silence the family keeps going and both Kunle and Stella always just share pleasantries and not having any conversation and still staying in the same house but Stella never stops calling Kunle family to report him of coming home late and not performing his civic right which Kunle never danced to her tune.
Now family are planning urgent meeting which Kunle detested all his life and he did everything in his power to avert it but still not on talking term with Stella and Stella’s loosing it gradually. There comes a day Stella offer Kunle back the phone she seized from him which He refused wholeheartedly and Stella result’s to selling it which Kunle doesn’t blink.
Another serious family meeting planned behind Kunle’s back but was averted by a friend of Kunle which Stella contacted. He made them and actually see an end to the weeks long fight and they get back talking and everything is going on smoothly not until recently.
Kunle went out to a function which she’s aware of, it’s a night function which she said she’s not interested. Even before Kunle’s going there, she still find some time to remind him of how useless he is, of wanting to go to a function instead of finding money. Something she knew he rarely do, breaking his morale before going and still calling his families for staying out because he’s going to a function.
The next morning, he still made him realised that his presence is useless in the house and have nothing to offer.

Well I’m not a writer but a concerned nairalanders trying to put this out for learned fellows. Judged and don’t be Bias…

Chapter 10.

The family keeps moving fast and Kunle silence is causing more harm than good because there are numerous unsolved disputes and Stella wasn’t having any of it. She’s always right and always having more to say, always ready for war. Why not? She’s the financial head if the house and always utilize the control but what she don’t know is Kunle silence wasn’t if fear but he’s withdrawing emotionally from the relationship, he’s tired, he feels imprisoned and wanting out.
Kunle finally got what he’s hoping for but at a cost… he was in the bathroom all of a sudden Stella badged inside accusing him of still chatting with the said girl she warned him not to talk to anymore, that he even had the effrontery to call her darling. Kunle tried talking her down that after all those years together then why is she nit trusting him. But Stell doesn’t wnat to have any of his narratives the only thing she cared about is Kunle removing his sims and sending his important stuff outta the phone. Yeah you get it right, seizing the phone again.
Kunle got really pissed iff but still maintains his cool, returned the phone to her and went out to meet his friends and luckily for him someone offered to borrow him a phone though smaller to the one his wife seized but it brought him peace. And for the very first day in their years of cohabiting, Kunle intentionally stayed out late and got home drunk in his sorrow and still maintaining his silence.
He doesn’t argue with his wife or trying to pull any violence stunt and Stella too seeing him with a new phone taunt him of getting something smaller. He doesn’t care, after leaving for work the second day he still intentionally stayed out late. Now finding peace outside than being with Stella and she sensing she’s loosing control over him played a dangerous game. A game that’s about to put an end to everything… almost 5 years of relationship with a beautiful daughter in between.
She made a call to both their mothers, Kunle Big sister and brother, her own sister too and all she could say was about Kunle’s inadequacy, about wanting to start a building he can’t finish, about him being so useless in the house, about him not capable of doing anything for the family, that he can’t even feed the house, never bought anything for our daughter and all sort of demeaning words.
Kunle started receiving different calls from family but still keeps his cool and he only managed to go see his mother and explaining his own part. Went to Stella mom’s house too and say his own part, told them how much salary he’s been paid, how much he donated to the family monthly and their genotype not matched and all but both mother’s still doesn’t want the family to break.
Kunle still kept his cool in the house, Silence has always been his best friend, stopped eating anything she cooked, kept late night outing but never let their daughter feel there’s an issue. It’s just more painful that she had to seize the phone from him knowing that’s how he bonds so well with their daughter, taking the daughter screen time away. The phone awake him of what he really is…
He got more scared and uncertain of the future, he started thinking what if he actually never make it big , what if they actually build a house together ir even bought a house… is this how she will eventually take it from him someday. Why is she not telling them what she did but demeaning him with all derogatory words.
He started questioning himself and if he actually make the right choice, for the first time in Kunle’s life… He actually thought about Quitting and wanting out and this time for real. His soul is tired and his spirit crushed.

Chapter 9

Stella not wanting the area Kunle land is and Kunle nit wanting to let go of the land insisting is a bad business plan bring about many issue and eviction date is getting closer. So Kunle told him if she can’t stay there then she can move out to rent an apartment fir herself and he’s gonna do even if it’s a toom on the land that’s habitable and move there.
That was when Stella remembered they are both AS genotype, a secret they had both kept hidden and no one else in the family knew about it.
It happened to be they got to know about Stella being AS when the pregnancy was about 6 months, Kunle have always told Stella of being an AS and Stella always boost if being an AA genotype. But when she went for the test, she gets to know she wasn’t AA but AS too now putting the blame on Kunle for lying which he clearly doesn’t.
Kunle sighting the danger told Stella they should make it a secret till the baby is born to avoid negativity on the infant and people badmouthing and expecting the child to be a sickle cell patient and keeps praying about it which the Daughter miraculously aint SS but AS too.
Now she’s remembering they are not compatible but Kunle doesn’t bug, he’s still insisting she should get her own place if she’s insisting of him selling the land. They had some misunderstanding but settled it not concluding on anything but decides to see what the universe got for them.
Then there’s a particular day Aria was using Kunle phone to watch Ms Racheal likeshe always do, she’s fond of daddy’s phone and it automatically turned to her personal gadget one’s Kunle is back from work. So when Kunle was asleep with his phone with Aria, Stella get to access the phone and the first thing she did was message the Corper girl from Kunle office about not texting her Husband anymore even though she found nothing of explicit in their chat. She cursed the girl and have her embarrassed and when Kunle woke up and found out about it he kept his cool saying he can’t fight his wife over an outsider.
Swore to Stella multiple times of having anything to do with the corper girl. Their are numerous intake of Corpers at Kunle office on a regular basis and he let her know if she wants to cheat then there aint no way she can find oh t about it and even swearing to her that he never cheated on her since they have been cohabiting but she doesn’t wanna have all of that. Her defense is 4 years back when they are still dating, Kunle saw a chat of her nd a male friend and in the chat Stella always told the guy all they ate that day and they chatted everyday even with Stella messaging the guy early in the morning even when she’s on the bed with him. And he didn’t fight her just told her to stop which she didn’t leaning on the fact that the guy always lend her money and vice versa which Kunle couldn’t help with.
So Kunle was perplexed while will she bring years back shit to defend her stupidity but he still chooses silence & Stella warned him not to ever chat with the girl again which Kunle said it’s nit possible since the girl was posted to Kunle department and the girl works with him. They see on a regular basis and Kunle always told the girl about his wife being a sweet woman and his guidance Angel but her actions are proving otherwise. Kunle thought An innocent heart fears nothing … He knows he’s innocent.

Kunle got a new phone now at the mercy of his eife and he promised her he gonna surely pay her back as he initially never wanted that. Everything goes in cool with the family and they are living happily with no issue nor drama. Just vibes and inshallah till a day an Eviction notice comes from the lawyer to vacate their apartment giving them few months notice to find a house.
In the good time when Kunle and Stella started their union, Kunle had a piece of land he bought but never developed it and Stella too got a piece of Land she bought after giving birth. So Stella suggested since the land Kunle had have yielded a great value and is now almost times 4 of his value that he should sell it and she too will find some money and add to it that they can find another cheap one in another environment and build their own house.
It was a great idea as Stella put it and Kunle also bought the idea. She comman that when buying the new land it will have both their name in thebLand agreement document which Kunle initially agreed to believing it won’t be their only home and having both their name on it shouldn’t be an issue and later suggested they can have their Daughter name on it ehich Stella immediately rejected. He still doesn’t see an issue but sense some red flag which he ignored.
Agents were called to sell the land and for several weeks no one came with the exact money for the land and it became stale. While on the process Kunle suggested they should look and price the new land they wants to get before selling and that sounds great witg them. Agents were also called and different land was shown to them and Kunle suggests it’s not a good investment as most of the land were overpriced and the one they are trynna sell is in a developed area already but Stella said she doesn’t like the area and can’t live there and that’s where the problem started.
Stella wants the land sold and a new one bought in their names but Kunle insisted on not selling and building the sites. Stella said He’s a broke ass and can never raise money to build it but Kunle’s got just believe and hope. And prior to the Dad, there’s a situation where Stella seized the phone he got for Kunle because He was chatting with a female corper at his work place, the chat is work related but Stella believes He always deleted their chat together and leaves only the work related chat. She seized the phone for a full week and later tried giving it to him bck which he refused but after persuasions and the fact that Kunle can’t get another one at that moment he results to collecting it back but thing is really getting sour from there. Kunle felt he lose his Manhood and Stella is trying to show him who the boss is.

Chapter 7

Kunle is not a saint too, never innocent but most of his sincis his inadequacy, he believed and limited himself that broke man gat no say. Maybe he should have tried to express himself but he chooses silence that his wife later changed to him keeping malice. Many unresolved issue but they still living as a family, yeah a happy family but they alone knows what they are going through.
But Kunle never disclosed their family affairs to anyone even his mother but he madd sure to tell them about his wife being the financial head of the home and always praise her even behind her of being her backup and he never took it all for granted even though Stella have a different believes and always thought otherwise.
There is a day Stella suggested they move put if their rented apartment and go rent another place cuase of electricity issue which Kunle agreed to but still scared cause of the high cost of renting another house but Stella mind was made up already. So he get some money too from his monthly contributions at work and gave it to his wife as part of his donation for the new house and she too donating same amount but they couldn’t see an affordable house since the cost was on the high side.
After several weeks of finding new apartment and no progress they resulted to keeping the former house till further notice and keeping the money. After some weeks Stella makes a declaration that the money Kunle donates is being used to cater for the house and that he knows things are costly now and she’s always been spending her own money too which Kunle doesn’t have a problem with.
After few days shes declared she had some savings and insead if spending it unnecessarily she would lkke to upgrade her phone which Kunle is very ok with and she eventually changed it. She also said Kunke too should change his phone since there’s enough money with her which He immediately rejected sensing fear of the unknown but she frowns at it and called him a hater and doesn’t like progress.
Few days again she persuades Kunle to change his phone as the one with him is not befitting ehich He later concurs to and that’s his biggest regret and the root of all the problems they are about to face . And that’s when everything started and some mystery about to be ravel….

Chapter 6

Ever since the birth if Aria, they been living a good life. Kunle supplementing his inadequacy with being a caring Dad or so he thought. Helps in cooking, laundry for both wife and his daughter, goes to the market majorly because he doesn’t want Stella stressed carrying the baby around. Comes straight home after closing from work, rarely go hanging with friends, always home with the family. Giving up on his identity and always trying everything to please his wife even though it’s neva enough.
Now they sleep separately in different room since the birth of Aria and she’s still controlling their sexual life and always rubbing it in his eyes whenever he request for intimacy that he should have convert the energy to look for more money, making Sarcastic comments of you still having an erection in this current economy but Kunle doesn’t have a choice and silent and malice have always been his weapon.
He can’t fight her since she’s always ready for war and what could a broke ass do; Kunle spirit was crushing but he’s never giving up. He’s not really that broke, He’s got a good respectful Job, his salary can take good care of him but with the current inflation in the country it seems he’s not doing anything even with salary increment and 70% of the salary still goes to the family upkeep but Stella’s earning more, doing more and happy to be in control though she aint admit to it.
Now Kunle is only living in imaginations of brighter future, the 30% left from his salary is barely enough to take care of him. The wife always the one to get him some wears or footwears if they had a function or see the one he’s using is all wear out. Kunle appreciate all his wife efforts but he wants his independence too, he really wanna do more fornthe family and he’s trying but greatly demoralized.
No social life outside the family outing, even if he got invited by friends the fear of his wife will make him decline. Yeah he’s living well at the expense of his wife but at the cost of his freedom. Yes he’s still a stoner but rarely smoke as he now only does occasionally, like ones in two month’s to keep his sanity in check a d escapes reality.

Chaper 5

They keep living together, trying to settle their differences but it’s still never the same. Kunle had to be the calm one and it’s not all so gloomy like it used to be but they keep pushing it and the worst happened… Stella said she’s pregnant, even Kunle doesn’t know how it all happened but he never caught Stella cheating or having another guy and he doesn’t have any alternative than to take responsibility.
As the stomach begin protruding Stella suggested they move out of the family house to go rent an apartment due to numerous reasons by her and Kunle accepted. He tried all he could docto raise some of the money and Stella contributed too and they eventually move out and rent their apartment in a close by town.
Well seeing that he’s about to be a father, Kunle changed totally and tried to be a caring husband and father. Kunle being still broke and totally depended on his stipend salary and Stella even though outta the stipend he always drops 70% of it for the house and almost everything in the new rented house was independently bought by Stella as her side hustle is bringing more money now. Stella continues to be a loving sweet girl she used to be but totally in control now and knowing Kunle was a Sex freak, she made sure to punish him with Sex.
In the 9months cause of the pregnancy, she only made him hit barely 5 times and not with remembering him that being broke shouldn’t have make him have an erection but Kunke doesn’t have any options as he’s truly a broke ass. Ranging from everything in the house, to baby wears and feeding. Stella do carry most of it and he’s always appreciative though not always visibly happy about the situation.
It got to a point Stella accused him of hating on her progress and envious but that’s never the reality as Kunle knows he can’t continue leaving in her wife shadow and he knows deeply what’s in stake. Sacrificing his Masculinity and freedom but he keeps doing it and later have to agreed with his wife accusations. The wife made him know they are family and what she owns is for the family and she’s sure if he had too he gon do more to help.
She keeps encouraging him and he also keeps trying but it’s never enough . Now they had a daughter…! A beautiful Princess by name Aria.!!!

Chapter 4

They are both living peacefully not untill the side gig of Stella too started crashing, money aint forthcoming and the only source of income in the household is Kunle monthly salary which is barely enough for him talk less of starting a family. Daily living got so hard that even eating becomes a problem but they still managed with each other and tried to make it works. Stella also have a shop but customer aint forthcoming to the point of closing it down and always staying at home.
Kunle being a street hustler and now panicking he now have 2 mouths to feed tried all his possible best in fixing his finances but it got more harder, multiple loans here and there but they kept going still but it’s greatly affecting the blissful love. He becomes depressed that it started to show greatly on his face to the point of friends calling him to attention. He tried hustling more but it gets tighter by the day and he suggested to Stella to make him travel to his friend place after getting leave from work to hustle there maybe things will change but she aint in support of the idea due to her personal reasons.
Kunle being impatient and not been able to convince his girl about the travel had to disappear one early morning without informing anybody, once he reached there he called home and let them know his location not with fights and malice from Stella though which was later settled over the phone and He tried explaining the needs for him to go which she doesn’t really bought so well. After some days he had to send some money to his girl and miraculously things changed for them both while away and they both getting up on their feet again.
After some weeks the leave from work got over and Kunle eventually returned and the relationship continues even though Stella been having a doubt and it’s really never like it used to be, they both managing and the side gig paying when he’s away stopped again but Stella been getting paid and all Kunle had was his salary. Stella really had his back still and food was never a problem but at the expense of her being in control. Their sexual life changed drastically as Stella dictates when she wants it and she never wants it and they still staying together at Kunle’s house.
Kunle being a street wise and sensing the changes in Stella and noticing some reg flag called Stella to attention but still the situation is not changing now Kunle wanted out but Stella is not giving in and gives Kunle a condition if he really wants her gone. And the condition is Kunle returning back all the money she had spent since moving in with him. Knowing fully well that it’s impossible judging by His current financial capability. That really broken Kunle and rendered him helpless and things were never the same.

Chaper 3

The love grew more stronger with both committed to it and Kunle never letting her revisit her past as he believes the past never mattered as she aint herself frawn back to it and not affecting their present. Both Kunle and Stella are always together though not living together yet. Kunle stay in his family house with his brothers and Stella rented an apartment too though she always spent most if her day in Kunle house as it’s not really far to each other.
Families already knew about them so it’s a blissful journey even though at a time there’s talk about religion but the love is above it and everyone had to let them be.
After a year of being together, Stella had an issue with her house and had to find another apartment she can rent out. She’s been given quit notice with few months if notice and she really did try finding a new place but she aint get any that suits her style and got limited time. So she made a suggestion which Kunke accepted to move her belongings to his place and stay for some time till she can find a house.
Kunle brothers doesn’t seems to wanting that but they got no say and they started living together and it’s so hard getting a house still before Kunle suggested she should move in permanently as they mostly spend time together prior to her eviction and in the process of finding another house the money is reducing. They started living together in Kunle’s house and everything seems to be well and going smoothly and the money for renting the house was spent gradually.
Prior to them dating, Kunle had a side hustle that brings more money to manage the 9-5 work he’s been employed too, He told Stella everything about his finances and not hiding anything from her. Stella too had a side gig she’s doing though not employed but she’s indeed a hustler.
While living together, Kunle stopped most of his usual schedule and plan a schedule that goes well with Stella too and there aint any major issue or setback not until after few months when Kunle side hustle aint bringing in much money again but Stella’s always there for him and truly had his back. Living good wasn’t an issue as they both understood each other and living life as it comes.

Chapter 2

Stella wasn’t the only profile that will pop up on Kunle profile, not the only one he will Dm’ed but there’s just this aura it always brought him like he’s sure she’s the one and for the fact that he message her and she replied well too and they share number prompting them to have a more close conversations and got to know each others well.
It’s been months talking on phone after they decided to see each other physically since they are living in the same City, a plan was made and venue fixed and they eventually met. Yeah she’s the most beautiful girl Kunle have ever met and she’s more pretty in person than the pictures he’s been seeing. Right there Kunle made a promise silently in his heart that if this girl eventually date her then that’s his Wife and nothing will ever come in between them bot even other girls, not religion and definitely not her Past or family. He chooses her that instant moment.
There friendship grows stronger, Numerous outing, house visit, meeting each other’s friends and family even though they aint officially dating because Kunle keeps getting turned down by Stella on grounds of Religion and Kunle also been a stoner but they kept it cool at being friends, best friends but He never give up on them dating and letting her know how much he truly wants it to work out.
After several months with multiple persuasion, Stella later give love a chance, letting Kunle love her and it was indeed a blissful love life because it was mutual or so they thought with friends being envy of them. There is no place you will see Kunle and not see Stella too to the tone of Kunle letting go of other friendships with most of his female friends and limit his outings with male friends too even when they aint seems happy about it. But Kunle doesn’t care as far as he’s with the love of his life…!

Well the writer is not trying to be the judge but wants to be judged. It’s a couple true life story and will be written as shared. Any relation to a particular location or name reference is totally fiction and the owner of the story give a go added to learn from the learned….


Chapter 1.

On a cool afternoon while Kunle was strolling on the internet, a particular profile popped up in the timeline and he can’t keep his mind outta it. It was the profile of a gorgeous lady named Stella, Kunle had to leave everything he was doing to admire this beauty by looking at all the pictures on the profile and strolling to year’s throwback and she was indeed a pretty gem.
Kunle have always been a player right from his university days, someone that never get any emotional feelings for any girl before. Never been heart broken, always going for the easiest prey someone that love him and he can use for the moment but always slightly letting them know of his intentions through words and behavior but most of the ladies stayed maybe thinking he might change along the line and fall in love with them or they probably enjoying the moments too knowing they aint ready to start a family too.
After university days and post service year, Kunle already had enough of the play boy life wanting to love somebody but realized it’s easy to Bleep and move on to commitments and having a real relationship. He’s now getting to his senses that fine boy privileges ends at a certain age as he’s not young anymore and now he’s a graduate meaning more responsibilities.
Kunle got a Job, though the payment is not on the high side but enough to sustain him and a promise of increments as he got promoted. Kunle aint getting younger as his family especially his mother keep pestering him to atleast get a girlfriend since he’s employed now and still financially ok to have one.
He kept searching for the right one and numerous flings in the process not until he came across that particular profile of Stella….!! Stella Oduwoye.
