Shinji was never given a fair chance in the no 10 though. I could even say he looked consistently good everytime he played as a no 10 for us but grand pa Rooney had to play, not to talk of the clueless Moyes who went to bring in another luxury SS in Mata.

The only no 10 we had then was Kagawa yet he hardly played in the role while we continued to deploy either one of Mata or Rooney who are both SS pretending to be creative no 10 in the no 10 role when they are not. Kagawa performance for us against Bayern in the no 10 role is still a performance etched in my memory. Not only did he create plenty of chances which Rooney and Welbeck wasted of course but also, he controlled the midfield and stood his ground against Kroos and Bastian in the midfield.

As for Mkhi, he's another forward who plays similarly close to Rooney but not as strong. He's best suited to a counter attacking style where he could punt long ball into the final third while he hopes someone fast enough like Auba can smash it in. Better still, he would run into the box to get the return pass just to make a simple short pass for an assist or smash it in himself.

As for Draxler, he's indispensable at Psg. It's like he's even slotted into the starting 11 since Motta got injured while Rabiot took over the DM role sandwiched between Draxler and Verratti in midfield. Btw, Motta's not getting younger. One thing I would also say is although Draxler has often played as a no 10 or winger for a longer time in his career and even consider himself a no 10, I feel he's been at his best as a CM in 3-man midfield for Psg where he could get more involved in the play and drive forward with his pace and turns.

As for Di Maria, anyone who doesn't know that he's an inconsistent slug from time memorial should check himself. This dude is still living on his overhyped 6 months performance at Madrid when he's just full of shite! His performance was so bad last season that Psg even considered selling him to Psg and even had to sign Draxler in January. Yeye.

I have been telling some racist socalled united fans this recently. Stats don't lie. Pogba is undoubtedly our most important player and possibly the most all round Midfielder to ever play the game. Anytime he's off the team, the midfield just collapses. We start resorting to long balls to no one because the midfielders can't hold the ball under pressure so they send it back to the defenders.. who have mastered the art of lobbing balls to nobody. Only pogba is able to use his physicality and technique at the same time to create space for others and send the balls to them. There is a reason we are forcing the Captain arm band on him because in a few years the Carrick's, Valencia's and co will be history.. Only Pogba of the current class of stars measures with them and possibly above based on what we know he can deliver.
