Despite a fine effort from their hosts, Real took another step towards a fourth consecutive title on a night when VAR was once again a talking point

Defender Jan Vertonghen (L) celebrates with teammate Son Heung-Min (R) after scoring their second goal during the UEFA Champions League round of 16 first leg football matchbetween Tottenham Hotspur and Borussia Dortmund at Wembley Stadium in London on February 13, 2019.Adrian DENNIS / AFPTottenham took a huge step towards reaching the Champions League quarter-finals as Son Heung-min inspired their 3-0 win over Borussia Dortmund in the last 16 first leg on Wednesday.Mauricio Pochettino’s side had been under the cosh as Dortmund dominated the first half at Wembley, but Hugo Lloris kept them level with a series of fine saves. That set the stage for a sublime second half from Tottenham, who were sparked into life by a fine finish from South Korea forward Son.Son’s fourth goal in his last four appearances took him to 16 for the season, but none have been as priceless as this one.Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen capped his own powerful performance when he swept in their second goal in the closing stages and substitute Fernando Llorente’s late third put the seal on a remarkable result.Although Tottenham still have to survive the second leg at Signal Iduna Park on March 5, they have a golden opportunity to reach the Champions League quarter-finals for the first time since 2011.It was an especially impressive success for Pochettino given he was without the injured Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Danny Rose and Ben Davies.Pochettino devised a clever game-plan that eventually frustrated Dortmund and secured Tottenham’s first ever Champions League knockout-round win at home. With Rose and Davies sidelined, Pochettino deployed centre-back Vertonghen out of position at left wing-back and switched to a three-man defence that stifled the Bundesliga leaders.Pochettino had insisted Tottenham would be able to ignore the draining effects of a gruelling schedule which he felt leftthem at a “massive disadvantage”.And his passionate talk of seeing the “energy” in his players’ eyes as they looked forward to a big Champions League night proved prescient as they worked tirelessly to leave Dortmund helpless to stem the tide.Lucas Moura gave Tottenham an early spark when he latched onto Davinson Sanchez’s header and smashed a volley just wide from the edge of the area.Juan Foyth gifted Dortmund their first sight of goal when hedwelt on the ball too long and was alertly dispossessed by Christian Pulisic. But Lloris spared Foyth’s blushes as he blocked Pulisic’s shot at the near post.– Perseverance rewarded –Dortmund’s rapier attacks were led by Jadon Sancho, who left Manchester City to join Dortmund in 2017 without ever playing for the Premier League team.Just two years later, the 18-year-old winger made his first appearance back on home soil now established as an England international rated as one of Europe’s hottest prospects.Sancho hit top gear on several occasions in a mesmerising first-half display, leaving two Tottenham midfielders for dead and linking with Pulisic, whose shot was blocked at the last minute. It took Tottenham over half an hour before they finally forced ‘keeper Roman Burki into action after Son wriggled through the visitors’ defence.Lloris made a superb save to deny Dortmund on the stroke of half-time as Dan-Axel Zagadou met Sancho’s cross with a header that the Tottenham captain clawed out at full stretch.Despite being pushed back for much of the first half, Tottenham had refused to surrender and their perseverance was rewarded in the 47th minute. When Vertonghen swung over a cross from the left, Dortmund’s defence were out of position for the first time all night and Son timed his run perfectly behind Zagadou to caress a fine volley past Burki.Suddenly, Tottenham had all the momentum and Vertonghen rampaged forward to fire over.Dortmund had no answers to Tottenham’s high-tempo pressing and it was Vertonghen who was the hosts’ unlikelyhero in the 83rd minute as he volleyed home from Serge Aurier’s cross.Tottenham were rampant and Llorente completed a memorable night when he glanced a close-range header past Burki from Christian Eriksen’s corner three minutes later.

A journalist and staff of Voice Of Nigeria (VON) has recounted her horrifying experience after surviving a close shave with death during the Kaduna crises few weeks back which claimed more than 50 lives with properties worth millions destroyed.

Temitope Mustapha, was travelling through Kaduna to Kano to cover the event on Media Dialogue on Equity for the Girl Child Education before being caught in the crisis.

She took to social media to share her story. Read the lengthy piece below;

Passing through Kaduna State on Sunday 21st of October 2018, to connect to Kano State for a two day Media Dialogue on Equity for the Girl Child Education , I never thought would end up bloody for me..

About 4:35pm ,Two times this gentleman who was in the same car with me woke me up and said “Madam stay awake” ,I replied him, see i had written stories previous nights before I embarked on this journey. Again this man woke me up and said “madam pls stay awake”.

Then I opened my sleepy eyes very wide and clearly I saw Military officers seated on their vehicles. Suddenly, a fellow passenger like me said ” Madam we have been making calls to know the safest road” & I said you mean this road is safe for us all? They all answered Yes. Suddenly at Kaduna By- Pass,I saw a trailer blocking the road and traffic was building up and the driver of the same car I boarded( public transport of of course) beckoned on one of the youths holding a fibre of an iron, of course he responded in Hausa language & another passenger translated this to me that he wanted to find another route out of By- Pass.

Suddenly, a number of the young men sighted me in the car & my driver started pleading with them, telling them ” Da Allah ki ya kuri” ,I was the only female in the car and extremely unusual of me I wore what you saw in the pictures above with an head tie ( turban)that I had on me.

RACE OF MY LIFE

The young men best described as Miscreants were more than fifteen, they started hitting the side of the car I was, Actually my head was blank, I couldn’t say one word of prayer, I didn’t panic and I was ready to run the race of my life.

Immediately my fellow passengers took to their heels from the front door and the left door side , then I summoned courage opened the right side door which was already confronted by men holding all manner of irons and stones. My turban ( head tie) fell off , And I started running towards an uncompleted building immediately I realised I could be finished in the building, With heavy stones landing on my back and long metallic objects hitting my body from people running after me ,I turned and thought of crossing the Gutters on Kaduna by – Pass.

O Yes I fell down with the heaviness & marathon of stones landing on my body then I watched myself being LYNCHED with all manners of iron rods, sticks and i was being stonned at the same time.

Nobody dared stopped these youths from stonning me neither was I rescued from their hands.

I actually saw one of them videoing what they were doing to me & I sincerely was running within me to catch up with breathe. Death is Painful.

I suddenly didn’t not feel the hitting of the irons on my body again & the stones were no longer making sounds to me. I was hearing ,Jesus is Lord inside my Head clearly as if with a mega phone, I was seeing my mother’s,my Son & my daughter’s faces all at thesame time & some how I kept hearing in my head that all they were doing was not up to Labour Pains.

I crawled inside the Gutters ,of course I was already almost inside the Gutters by by-Pass. I felt peace in my body & I found solace inside the Gutters. I saw these youths gathered on the other side ,I blurringly saw a crowd of men watching me , And I saw clearly one of them carrying a stone with his two hands right over me, I raised up one hand pleading to him & making gestures appealing. That was the last I saw.

HEAVY SLEEP OVER POWERED ME

Heavy & Deep Sleep came over me inside the Gutters, the thing overpowered me & I watched my hand threw away, from this moment I didn’t know what happened again ,I cannot tell what, where & anything about me again. I don’t know what switched me off. I was completely switched off.

Till I woke up at AMRULLAH Hospital (also along Kaduna by-Pass )on a stretcher , I started talking telling them I am a Journalist with Voice of Nigeria and I was only passing by Kaduna State to attend a Media Dialogue in Kano State. I attempted standing from the stretcher my body didn’t respond. I was asked for phone numbers , Heaven helped me to remember my younger sister’s number & the father of my children’s number.

AMRULLAH Hospital …
Totally to my rescue, about six drips including flagyl & All manners were set into my system. I was revived, Head suturing were done, the young Muslim doctor was crying while suturing my head, hospital attendants were cleaning stretcher stained with my blood. Everybody was put on guard. The Miscreants traced me to the hospital & demanded that the lady brought in should be released by the hospital to be killed. This Muslim hospital saved me,hidded me away from them & I realised I was kept in a ward locked with a nurse who was given instructions not to open the ward to anyone she possibly didnt know the voice. Only the Hospital Manager, the doctor on duty & two nurses were given access to where I was.

2nd Day

I asked the only face I saw when I woke up from the “deep sleep”, I said Pls who brought me. He looked at me with tears filled in his eyes & said A JTF Member brought you life-less. He said “we rejected you because you were not breathing and demanded he should not drop your body with us”

The AMRULLAH Hospital Manager said, when we refuse to take you the JTF Man dropped you on our stretcher & said you could come back that we should try.

AMRULLAH Hospital treated me & stabilised me. Then A thousand plus calls came on the Hospital Managers’ Phone, they said My Family Members were dead alive & Colleagues had sleepless night.

MANAGEMENT OF VOICE OF NIGERIA STOOD FOR ME

In the Midst of it all, Mr Ahaziah Suleiman My Exe.Dir.of News, Mr Ben Shemang,Hajia Sani,Hajia Hauwa even the DG I heard all sets contacts in motion for my proper care.

VON KADUNA STATE CORRESPONDENT SUDDENLY BECAME A MOTHER

Her name is Hajia Asmau, she was the family I saw,she was the colleague on ground, she wept uncontrollably & was still the one consoling herself ,I watched Asmau wiped tears several times. Above all this lady risked her life to identify with me in the hospital & practically carried a wheeled chair colleague to her house to ensure my safety.

Baba we all call him,Hajia Asmau’s Husband was there to carry me from the vehicle to hospital stretcher , He was there all through right beside his wife fixing my neck most times carrying me on wheel chair. Hajia Asmau’s children all cried uncontrollably and kept asking their Mother,Mummy what did she do to them”. Her family owned me straight up.

AGAIN MY BOSSES & COLLEAGUES TRIED

Aisha John Mark, Gloria Essien & Omolayo Alabi all pinned Prof. Dr Ogrimma down, owner of SKILLS HOSPITAL, He was there for VON, Of course curfew did not allow X-ray operator to be at work. But Dr Ogrimma tried for me. He ensured the fractured hand was well tied & he gave instructions that further saved me.

UNICEF TEAM & KADUNA STATE GOVT ALSO CARED

I Sincerely hail Mr Geoffrey Njoku, UNICEF Head Communication Officer, who i learnt contacted his colleagues in Kaduna State & informed them of my attack the same night I was revived at AMRULLAH Hospital. Of course UNICEF contacted Kaduna State government. Lo & Behold ! Commissioner For Health Kaduna State visited the following afternoon of the attack , He later sent an ambulance who took me to government hospital on ” KD State government’s demand” though no bed space & everywhere was already filled with victims.

44 MILITARY HOSPITAL & MY FRACTURED HAND.

My bosses didn’t sleep nor take a Nap over my situation in Kaduna. The third day of the incidence my Ogas contacted Gen.Burutai’s Men to save the situation as there was still curfew & I almost couldn’t walk. A very calm Army Boss reported at Hajia Asmau’s residence with his men ,the third day and carried me to 44 MILITARY HOSPITAL to attend to my dangling fractured & dislocated hand. The army medical doctors insisted on thorough xray including that of my head. At the end the Army left me better.

VON DELIVERED ME WHOLE TO MY FAMILY

Spending three days in Kaduna State at the heat of the crises wasn’t easy at all for my family.(Though Hajia Asmau’s presence created relief for my mother) VON sent an official car with the office nurse and armed men escorted my scattered body with my breathe intact out of Kaduna town . I was exchanged into VON official car @Kaduna Toll gate.

I do have a lot to say about Kaduna State October 2018 crises. While recuperating & being on bed rest I think when my Nurse ( My mum’s eyes ) are few times away from me) I think about being carried from the Gutters by an Unknown Possibly Muslim JTF Member, I think about AMRULLAH Hospital ( a complete Muslim hospital who God used to stabilised me after coming out of deep sleep & yet not delivering me into the hands of the Hot Headed Miscreants, I think about the safety of Nigerian road users TRAVELLERS in the midst of CRISES across Nigeria

So many thoughts feeling my sutured head but I sure must put all these thoughts down…

That I am Alive alone for now ,I am grateful to God Almighty.

BELIEVE ME MY PEOPLE OF NIGERIA, NIGERIA DESIRE A MAN THAT DOESN'T TAKE NONSENSE BOTH FROM HIS FAMILY AND HIS FAMILY..
A MAN THAT WILL DO ANYTHING TO REVENGE BACK WHEN BEEN LOOK DOWN UPON. A MAN THAT WON'T FORGET OR FORGIVE ANYBODY THAT OFFENDS HIM EVEN AFTER YEARS OF HIM NOT SEEING YOU BUT STILL FULFIL HIS PROMISE AFTER SEEING YOU EVENTUALLY..

BECAUSE THE WAY NIGERIA IS GOING NOW WITH OUR LEADERS OF TODAY IS TEACHING OUR LEADERS OF TOMORROW ON STEALING MONEY IS A GAME OF POLITICS ..

The Red Devils were comprehensively beaten by their local rival, Manchester City, in a match that depicts gulf in class between the two powerhouse. The match which was played at the Ethiad stadium of Manchester City ended 3-1 in the fixture corresponding to match day 12 of the current season.

The defending champions, Manchester City, needed only 12 minutes of actions to open the scoring through David Silva and didn’t look put their legs of the gas before doubling their lead in the second half.

Manchester United pulled one back from the penalty spot and were though to be heading for a showdown until the Citizens added a third to take the game away from reach for the Red devils.

Ashley Young who captained his side during the derby, then took to his twitter handle to react.

What he said:

A really disappointing end to a week of tough away games. We know what yesterday meant to our fans and rest assured that during the international break we'll be doing everything to make sure it's 3 points next time out at Old Trafford pic.twitter.com/GtnTjc7OYN

Barely a week after the gruesome murder of Dr. Maiwada Galadima, a first class traditional ruler of Adara chiefdom in Kaduna state, men of the Department of Security Services have arrested and paraded some suspects allegedly connected to the murder.

A report by TVC News revealed that one of them is a marked Boko Haram member.

The DSS said the suspects demanded N100m as ransom but the family was said to have only afforded six million, eight hundred and fifty thousand naira which was delivered to the suspects.

But still, they ‘wasted’ the revered monarch.

DSS revealed that the six suspects were a part of the 20-man gang that executed the horrible act.

The operatives are now on the trail of the rest as they promised to arrest all the suspects to face justice.

1. Start a Youtube Channel

Starting a youtube channel is the easiest way of making money online in Nigeria and needs absolutely no startup investment.

Youtube gets an amazing 5 billion views per day which proves it’s power on the internet. There’s no doubt how much money people are making online via this platform. In fact, one man named Felix Kjellberg, the owner of PewDiePie earned 12 million dollars back in 2015 by running a single Youtube channel.

Making money on YouTube is one of the easiest online money making opportunities that you can find anywhere. This is mainly because the platform allows for people with basic computer knowledge to leverage on their creative abilities to create content that can attract viewers and followers.

With increasing followership, your YouTube channel can then be monetized. Your earning potential really won’t be determined solely by the number of subscribers and views you have, but also by the level of engagement you generate, the niche you provide content to, and the revenue channels you explore.

Let us go through some of the most popular YouTube niches that are highly lucrative…

1. Vlogs
Vlogs or vlogging involves regularly recording and publishing videos of your everyday life. If you have a large audience on YouTube, this can be a very easy way to create YouTube content because you can broadcast yourself unedited and connect with your followers on personal grounds.

Trust me, a lot of YouTubers make money from vlogging about their families, school, travels, fitness sessions, picnics, etc. People have literally quit their jobs and took on vlogging full time., especially because it is easy to start and has a very high earning potential.

2. Tech Videos

I watch a lot of technology videos because of the different equipment that are coming out rapidly and how educative they can be, especially when the publisher is well grounded in the tech space.

These days, it is not just me. Millions of people go on YouTube to watch reviews about the latest phone or learn about a phone they plan to buy.

If you’re a Techy person, then Tech videos are definitely the niche for you. You can get some high-end devices from companies that want you to promote their equipment by showing us how it works. This would not only earn you credibility and huge followership but would also fatten your pocket.

3. Tutorials
Whether it is cooking, do-it-yourself (DIY) tasks like laundry, carpentry, doing makeup, fixing cars, teaching techy stuff like website design, etc., there are always people who want to learn how to do stuff by watching videos and you could make money off them by providing the needed content.

4. Product Reviews
I’m one of those people who like to watch a video on an item that I’m thinking about purchasing to see how it worked for someone else. Being a Product Reviewer can get you free items from companies who need their products put out there for promotional purposes and some good cash to follow it.

5. Comedy
All work and no fun makes Jack a dull boy, goes the old saying. Nobody likes to be a Jack and this is why many people like to engage in some fun activity like watching comedy videos on YouTube.

If you are funny, know how to prepare comedy skits, or can generally do anything to make people relax and laugh, then publishing comedy videos might be your gateway to YouTube financial freedom.

Here in Nigeria, you can attest to the fact that comedians are living large off the high audience that they get from their funny videos, especially because they have monetized their channels. You might be the next if you take YouTube seriously.

So you see…there are lots of niches that you can venture into when it comes to making money off YouTube. The list is actually endless.

Fortunately for students that attend our digital marketing course, we not only expose them to dozens of profitable YouTube niches and revenue channels, but we also show them step by step how they can leverage these opportunities to begin their millionaire journey off YouTube.
YouTube ads are by far the easiest way to start earning money on YouTube. Until relatively recently, anyone could enable monetization on their YouTube channel and start earning for every watch of their video.
But that all changed recently when Google announced they would be raising the standards required to have ads shown on your channel.
Now, you need to be part of the YouTube Partner Program (YPP) and meet certain minimum criteria before you can start benefitting from ads. These include:
Having 4,000 or more watch hours
Securing 1,000 or more subscribers in the last 12 months
Scary right? There’s no need to worry. Our digital marketing course helps our students to learn the best strategies to increase their subscribers from zero to astounding numbers and also supply video content ideas that will get fans glued to your channel for hours.
This is one of the best secrets that YouTubers are using to cash out these days. Click here to register for the course.

4. Create Niche Websites
Niche websites is a small website focused on one particular topic which shares all information relevant to the topic that is both useful and interesting for the target audience.
It can be any small-scale web property that makes money. Generally, a niche website should have these characteristics:
It has a low number of content pages (Usually 20 or less)
It is narrowly focused around a very specific topic or audience like website design
It primarily relies on a single source of income
It gets traffic from one place (usually Google search)
For instance, you can create a website around the niche of real estate. The goal can be to schedule property visits by intending home-owners. Or you can also create a website that centres around paid music streaming and purchase.
After deciding the niche you wish to enter you should now create content aligned to that niche and drive traffic to the website. The more traffic you have on your site, the more your monetization opportunities increase.
Some niche website monetization opportunities include:
You can display Google ads on your niche website
You can also display private ads on your website. For instance, if you run a real estate niche website with very high traffic, you can get realtors to advertise their services and home offerings on your website.
Alternatively, you can make money from writing sponsored posts and product reviews for companies. his works best for people who run high traffic technology websites
A lot of people sell digital products like e-books, templates, webinars (paid video tutorials), podcasts, etc.
Affiliate marketing is your surest bet. You can easily advertise your custom affiliate links to platforms like Amazon and begin to make money by promoting the links in blog posts on your niche website.
A lot of these amazing income streams cannot be leveraged on maximally without the best tools and strategies that we teach in our digital marketing course to drive high traffic to your niche site

In fact, one of our students in our digital marketing course, Ebuka, recently launched a travel website that allows tourists to share stories on their travel experiences. He’s not only making money from partnerships with travel agencies, but also from the adverts on his website.
Ebuka started his niche website monetization journey by attending our digital marketing course. You can click here to begin your own journey.

Suitable for: This online money making opportunity is best for people who have an interest in certain topics. e.g football, phones, dogs etc.

5. Publish a Kindle eBook
Do you have impressive writing skills? Are you a storyteller and are able to build a large following of people who would be willing to pay money for your stories?
If you are looking for means to monetize this skill, then you should consider publishing ebooks online.
You see, what the big publishing houses do with big offices for editors, writers, administrative staff… and then big printing presses… then distribution centers to get their books out to bookstores around the country… all to hopefully get books in the hands of readers…
…all of which you can do on the computer you have right now.
If that’s not a massive business opportunity for writers and publishers, I don’t know what is.
Publishing an ebook on Kindle is one of these simple, lucrative but rare ways to generate consistent passive income online.

Did you know that Amazon is the biggest rival to Google than any other search engine like Yahoo and Bing?
More and more shoppers try to search for a product on Amazon than other traditional search engines.
When people want in-depth information on a specific topic, they go and search for eBooks on Amazon so as to get useful recommended books.
Basically, you can leverage on the booming request for these eBooks and generate a stable passive income source.

Here’s how…

First, What is An Ebook?
Ebooks are…wel…books that are delivered, downloaded and sometimes, read onlune.
You can write them yourself (or employ writers) use publicly knowledgeable content, and create your ebooks from many sources. And just about any subject can be covered like travel guides, how-to manuals, mystery, romance, science fiction, self-help, technology, blah blah blah.

Also, you won’t have to rely on an editor or publisher telling you whether a book will be published. And you won’t have to rely on a bookstore to put your book on its shelves. You’re in complete control of the entire process.
In fact, you’re going to handle everything yourself, including marketing and selling. And that means you get to keep all the profits. Amazing right?

But then, writing does not come too easy to many.

Even when you know how to, leveraging on writing ebooks on Amazon kindle requires some top-notch skills to identifying the niches that will profit you and using ice breaking digital marketing skills and strategies like keyword research and social media marketing to promote and get your books sold.

These and more are what we practicaly and technically take time out with our students to develop and nurture the Shakespeares in them, as well as teach them how best to determine what topics sell most and markeiting techniques in our digital marketing course.

Suitable for: This online money making opportunity is best for people who have in-depth knowledge on certain topics and want to share or people who love to do research and guide.

These type of websites provides a place for registered members to interact with one another and there is a certain monthly access fee attached with it.

The quick exit of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC may have been prompted by the query he received from the National Working Committee of the party, asking him to respond within 48 hours why disciplinary action would not to be taken against him for breaching article 21 of the constitution of the party.

The party in a resolution signed by the National Secretary of the party, Mai Maila Buni, said the senate president had allegedly flouted the laws of the party with his activities.

Some of the allegations raised against him includes that “you encouraged and facilitated by providing an enabling environment for the defection of some senators who are members of the APC to the other opposition Parties.

“That you have deliberately refused to screen nominees for appointments submitted by Mr President who are members of the party from being confirmed by the senate. This has caused untold embarrassment and ridicule to the party and the government.

“That you have organized a public rally in your state where members of the party urged you to decamp to PDP. That as a follow up to the above the Kwara state governor who is known to be your staunch supporter Had made public pronouncements suggesting that he will decamp from the party as an indicator to your formal defection.

“ that you used the office of the senate President to cause avoidable delays in the budgetary process and passage of the appropriation act into law thereby frustrating the implementation of the party’s manifesto and programs and frustrating the APC led Federal Government in the actualization of the campaign promises of the party.

“Converting the guest house of the senate President to meeting points and presiding over anti APC activities in the guest house and encouraging defection of senators from the party and presiding over such meetings and compiling a list of the said defectors including some without out their consent.

“Procuring joint letter of decampees from the APC and reading same on the floor of the senate including some who did not accede to defecting thereby causing embarrassment to the party. Inspite of the efforts to address grievances to reconcile aggrieved members, you worked against the process and encouraged the formation of an association which sought to impersonate and pass off the name of the party” it stated.

The resolution demanded that the senate president responds to the allegations or face sanctions.

Manchester United have been fined a total of 15,000 euros (£13,200) by UEFA for the late kick-off to their Champions League match against Valencia earlier this month caused by the hosts being caught in traffic.

UEFA’s disciplinary arm fined United 5,000 euros for the late arrival of the team bus, and a further 10,000 euros for the late kick-off, while United manager Jose Mourinho was also warned over the delay.

United arrived at Old Trafford less than 45 minutes before kick-off on October 2 and had to ask Slovenian referee Slavko Vincic to delay the start of the game by five minutes.

Mourinho blamed the delay on local police for not providing an escort for United’s team bus, but police officials said the club knew well ahead of time no such service would be provided and had time to make the adequate arrangements.

“We left the hotel at six o’clock, hoping that 30 minutes would be enough, which normally it is, but this time the police refused to do an escort so we came by ourselves,” said Mourinho after the match which ended in a 0-0 draw.

“We took from the Lowry Hotel, 75 minutes and UEFA were nice, the referee was nice to allow us to start the game five minutes later because we at least need half an hour to be prepared, but it was not a problem with the club organisation.”

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has unsettled the Peoples Democratic Party by its decision to reject Oladipupo Adebutu’s candidacy and accept the nominated governorship candidate submitted by the Adebayo Dayo led executive of the party in Ogun State.

The Commission disclosed this in a letter addressed to the PDP National Chairman in Abuja. The letter was dated 25 October.

However, the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan described INEC decision as a huge compromise.

"If INEC claimed that it collected any list outside what the national secretariat of PDP submitted to it, it is a huge compromise.

"And we say so according to our statutes and all the laws governing elections in Nigeria. INEC cannot take a list from a state of the party. INEC takes list from the national headquarters of the party.

"So if it claimed that it had gone to take any list from anywhere, it is unknown to us and it is unknown to the rule guiding elections in Nigeria.

"They acknowledged all the names that we submitted to them. So, it is totally strange, unknown to the rules and unknown to the PDP that INEC is claiming that it has another list. We are not aware," Ologbondiyan said.

The PDP had submitted House of Representatives member Oladipupo Adebutu as the governorship candidate.

In the letter signed by INEC acting Secretary, Okechukwu Ndeche, INEC said its decision was informed by the orders by the Federal High Court in three cases.

These were FHC/L/CFS/636/2016 Engr. Adebayo Dayo & Anor vs INEC & 5 Ors; FHC/l/CFS/114/2018 Alhaji Adewole Adeyanju(Member PDP National Working committee) and 6 Ors. vs INEC and 30 Ors; and FHC/ABJ/CFS/636/2016 Engr. Adebayo Dayo (State Chairman) & 8 Ors. vs INEC & 3 Ors.

INEC said that the the Federal High Court in the matters ordered the Commission to recognise Dayo led State Executive Committee of PDP in Ogun State and receive list of candidates for the 2019 Governorship, National Assembly and State House of Assembly Elections from the said committee.

It recalled that the Commission vide a letter dated April 12, informed PDP of the Commission's compliance with the judgements of the Federal High Court in the suits, which were subsisting until set aside.

"Further to the above decision, the Federal High Court Abeokuta Division on 2nd October 2018 in Suit No. FHC/ABJ/CFS/636/2016 Engr. Adebayo Dayo (State Chairman) 8: 8 Ors. vs iNEC & 3 Ors. also ordered the commission to recognise Adebayo Dayo led state executive committee of PDP in Ogun State and receive list of candidates for the 2019 Governorship, National Assembly and State House of Assembly Elections from the said committee.

"Consequently, the Commission hereby notes the decisions of the Federal High Court in the above referred cases and will publish the lists of candidates submitted by the Adebayo Dayo led State Executive Committee of Ogun State pursuant to the Orders of the Federal High Court until they are set aside."

Sen. Buruji Kashamu whose faction's list was accepted, commended INEC and the leadership of the party for recognising the Dayo-led Ogun PDP exco.

He reiterated his earlier call on party's elders, leaders and teeming supporters to embark on massive mobilisation and reconciliation for successful outing at the polls.

Kashamu declared that there should be a "No victor, No vanquished" disposition amongst Party members, saying, "we shall all reap from the electoral fortune that will be ours at the 2019 general election."

The National Executive Committee, NEC of the Party had earlier expelled Senator Kashamu, Adedayo Dayo and two members of the Ogun State chapter of the party over alleged anti-party activities which was later overturned by the Court.
