timidapsin:Nearly a month. |
Imustreturn:Yes, I have. But I haven't got the DoV. Please, do you know how I could go about getting the DoV? |
johnnypaul927:Na wa o. At this rate, the expected date of travel that some people wrote in their visa application might have passed before they will receive a feedback on their application. Hehehe. |
johnnypaul927:You understand the struggle. Do you know of anyone who applied for a study visa this year and has got a response from them, be it positive or negative? |
lordbjizzi:**first week in September not August** |
johnnypaul927:Father Lord!!! And here I am, counting days from the August 7 date that I submitted, and hoping that 15 working days go reach next tomorrow, and that by first week in August at the latest, I will get a feedback. |
Please, when did you submit your visa application? How long has it been? cooliyk2: |

Okunns:Have you got your DoV? |
Anthonyemeka12:There are two official translators in Lagos. If you download the legalization form on the Consulate's website you'll see their addresses. If your school is starting in early September though, you have a huge race against time, because after you've translated, you have to legalize your documents, then pre-enroll (except you are going for a PhD), before you can apply for Visa. And I am not quite sure pre-enrollment is still open. I'd suggest you call the Consulate ti find out if pre-enrollment is still open. |
Anthonyemeka12:Yes. As far as I know, legalization is a process in which the Consulate attests to the authenticity of ANY document. DOV is document which the Consulate issues as a declaration that your ACADEMIC document is of commensurate value with that of an equivalent document in Italy. They are slightly different, but if you time application well, you may apply for both legalization and DoV at the same time. |
It seems people can apply for study visa without the DoV this year o. I sent a mail to the Consulate today requesting if the DoV is ready for collection, and they replied that the DoV is not yet ready, but that I can proceed with my visa application. This is surprising fa. Please, is there anyone who has received a similar response from the Consulate?
|
dejiconde:Ok. So after pre-enrollment ends (by July 24th?), please, what's the procedure to get your DOV? Do you have to book an appointment for DOV collection by sending an email, like we did for pre-enrollment/legalization? Or can you just go to the Consulate without an appointment and you'll be given the DOV? Or will the Consulate call you to come pick up your DOV after the pre-enrollment deadline? I don't quite understand the procedure. |
Oh, nice! Please, do you know any of the "only few" who have got their DOV this year? We could use some info from them about how to get the DOV as well. dejiconde: |
Exactly! Waiting for someone going for a study visa and who's got their DOV to tell us how they went about it. yettyRoot: |
Imustreturn:Please, for those who pre-enrolled early, do you know anyone who has been able to obtain their DoV? I just want to ask them how they went about getting it. Cos the Consulate and my school are saying two very different things about how to get the DoV. Would like to ask someone who already got for some info. |
Nuche:Ok. But have you now emailed your school? Because my school is Univ of Milan and I already emailed them. But they said it is the consulate that must first send them a list of pre-enrolled candidates, after which they (that is, the school) will now confirm the candidates on this list that already have admissions. This is directly contradicting what the Consulate said. So I am kinda stuck right now. If you've emailed your school, can you please tell me what they said? Did they say they'll send your name to the Consulate? We can talk on Whatsapp if you prefer. My number is +2348153839889. |
Nuche:Please, when you went for your legalization, when did they ask you to come back for your DoV? Not the legalised documents o, DoV gan gan. Cos when I went there for legalization and pre-enrollment on June 11, they gave me back my documents and Form A on the same day, already legalized with stamps, signatures and stickers. But they did not give me the DoV, and they didn't say specifically when I should check back for it. I've sent them emails to ask for update, no got no replies. Could you please tell me when they asked you to come for your DoV? |
Phenmeson:I gave a lengthy explanation about this, in response to a similar question, in an earlier post, bro. Check page 138 of this thread. The post I'm talking about is on June 7. You'll find it there. |
Imustreturn:OK. Thank you! |
Imustreturn:Oh, okay. So to submit the visa application, we have to send a mail to the visa office of the Consulate and request an appointment same way we did for legalisation? |
Hello everyone, For those planning to apply for a study visa at the Italian Consulate this year, this one that the Consulate has still not resumed receiving visa application at VFS, how application for study visa go be this year, abeg? I am asking because I have almost completed my legalization and pre-enrollment, but I have no idea how to go about submitting application for visa? Do we have to send an email to the Visa office to book an appointment like we did for the legalization, or do we have to wait and hope/pray that the Consulate resumes application collection at VFS soon? Please, if anyone here is resuming school in Italy this year and has been able to apply for a study visa at the Consulate, please show us the way o. How did you go about submitting your visa application? Thank you. |
Beibelicious:Ha, no be small thing o. Before I got an appointment, my eyes see fire!! In early May, I sent them two emails, spaced about a week apart, but I didn't get any response. So, in the last week of May, I upped the ante and started emailing them everyday from two different email accounts! In fact, last week Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, I sent them like 8 emails daily (and I tell you, I am not exaggerating)!! I also called them on this number 08188268203 countless times. Most times, they didn't pick up. Last week Wednesday, they finally picked up and when I explained to the lady that I have been sending them emails to book an appointment for legalisation for over one month but haven't got any reply, she said they've been responding to all the emails they have received, that if I haven't got a response by now, then they didn't receive my emails. (I was like "Shooo?! You didn't receive over 20 emails that I have sent?!! There is God o" I did not believe that they hadn't received my messages because in all the emails I sent them, I always added myself in the bcc, and the messages got delivered to me. So I called her back immediately to suggest that she check their spam box too, but she snapped at me that why am I calling her again, that do I want to be teaching her her job?! (I was like "Issokay" Eventually they replied this Monday (three days ago) and asked me to come next week Monday.Lesson of the long story: when you are dealing with the Italian Consulate in Lagos, always remember that opportunity does not come knocking at your door, instead it presents itself when you beat down their door! Good luck to you!! |
Hello everyone, I have an appointment for legalization and pre-enrollment at the Consulate next Monday. And I have collected all my documents, translated them and attested them at the MOE and MFA in Abuja. I attested COPIES and ORIGINALS of all my documents, except the NPC birth certificate for which I only attested version of the original (BUT NOT THE PHOTOCOPY). I did not attest a photocopy of the NPC birth certificate because the person who attended to me at the MFA told me that they can't attest it since the MOE did not already attest it, but from the stories I have been reading, it seems the Consulate requires it. Please, is there someone here who was able to complete his legalization and pre-enrollment without an attested photocopy of the birth certificate? Do you think the Consulate will insist on this document? This is the only document I am missing and I do not want to go to Abuja for just this one if the Consulate will not insist on it. |
bodeoni:Please, I received an invite for the AC too. I chose MC too and my scheduled date is tomorrow. Please, can you give me a heads-up about what to expect? Thanks. |
Sorry, am I missing something? Did Oja Jonah just refer to our national treasury as "food" to be shared among politicians? *smh* I weep for this country. |
rubey:Babe, you ain't smiling but guess what? You look pretty too. |
Object and pout all you want! ![]()

Arsenate:Shoooo?!!! Your comment reeks of paranoia. It is disappointing really, that you have either deliberately or mischieviously misconstrued an innocuous attempt at humour for a "subtle insult on Arsenal fans". If the joke was lost on you, or if you felt hurt by it, then write your own letter too! Deride and mock Chelsea with it!! It's a free world, brother. But attacking personalities? Nah, I would rather not condescend to that level. |
Arsenate: Arsenate: Arsenate:Asinine and imbecilic Arsenal fans who can't make a point, address an issue nor crack a joke without attacking personalities! Hmmmmm, such a pity. |
Arsenal FC, We offer our deepest gratitude to you for defeating a Manchester City team that is needlessly threatening to heat up a title race they apparently can not win. It is a favour we will not forget in a hurry. As a reward therefore, we are delighted to inform you of our intention to be lenient on you when next we meet in the EPL. We assure you that it will not be business as usual. You know, no ruthless whitewashing; just a narrow 1-0 over you will do. We promise. We however wish to state, in no ambiguous terms, that any attempt by your side to ambush us or prove stubborn will be dealt with in the strongest possible manner. A repeat of last season's 6-0 is a real possibility in such eventuality. We look forward to having further symbiotic relationships like this with you in future. Please, accept the assurance of our esteemed regards. Signed Chelsea FC. |

Eventually they replied this Monday (three days ago) and asked me to come next week Monday.
