Obi and Kwankwaso are small fries. Atiku was the main challenger because he could have posed a decent challenge unifying votes against APC and PBAT if a deal could have being done for a united and joint ticket somehow featuring an Atiku, Obi and Kwankwaso united and joint challenge under one banner.

Perhaps an agreement, based on the best interest of Nigeria, that will see all players agree one leaders is President, another VP, a third coordinating Minister of the economy etc.

Yet the desperate, egotistical and duplicitous trio of Atiku, Obi and Kwankwaso could not manage that.

The greed and selfishness of the three, showing they are not sacrificially progressive or decent as Tinubu is, now means they are all done. Kaput.

What money does NDC, Obi and Kwankwaso have? Go and think about that. Remember also the Ibadan ADC conference was supposed to present a unified opposition of strength against APC where all those claiming they want to save Nigeria come together in harmony under one purpose and cohesive effort of " we are ready to sacrifice and rescue Nigeria" unity.

Few days later, the local champion Kwankwaso and the dullard Obi destroyed everything to mean Tinubu can now sleep well, spend less and chose his 2027 inauguration outfit with ease.

This isn't Tinubu vs Obi, it's bigger than both. My analysis actually hands Obi a roadmap: naming Nigeria's energy crisis, brain drain, and IMF conditions blocking industrialisation is what separates real transformation from campaign rhetoric.
The real challenge is that Obi still retains his offshore holdings in the British Virgin Islands, Barbados and London, campaigning on keeping Nigerian wealth inside Nigeria while his own wealth sits outside it, in the exact structures the neo-colonial system built to drain developing nations.
That's leverage the system already holds over him. The fix is straightforward though: voluntarily restructure his finances onshore, name the dependency architecture directly, and that contradiction becomes his strongest proof of sincerity.
You cannot lead a transformation you're personally still embedded in.

Kwankwaso has not yet made a decision, and anyone reading between the lines can discern his likely intent. However, some clowns have already hastily cast him as Pitobi’s running mate.
It is clear he will not accept that shiit, and he may soon get cancelled from the same quarters that now project that narrative.

Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso is using Peter Obi for his 2031 ambition, much like Atiku wanted to. Everything Kwankwaso is doing for Obi now is not because he believes in Obi, but because he hopes the support will be reciprocated in 2031 when it will rationally become the turn of the Northto produce the President of Nigeria.

I think Obi is overestimating his popularity. The core North would rather vote for Tinubu than vote for Obi, regardless of who he picks as his running mate. Even Kwankwaso, whom Obi is counting on, is only popular in Kano and perhaps parts of Jigawa. Obi should have been patient and accepted the role of Atiku’s running mate, as that might have helped ease the sentiment the core North holds against him.

Although, the South deserves to complete the remaining four years, even if Obi were given the ticket without Atiku’s support, it would be impossible for him to win in the core North. If Obi insists on contesting under the platform of the NDC, he will not win, and that will be the end of his presidential ambition. Tinubu will win, and by 2031, the momentum will shift back to the North.
