Literature / Buddy by loritachidera: 9:15pm On Jan 04, 2021
BUDDY
We are birds of the same feather
Playing and praying together
Dancing in the mid-day in the streets

Remember the old times
When the rain became our snow
And the moon our light

The sun smiled at us
While the trees waved
We strolled in the streets
And rolled like we had nothing

We became beggers
and the talk of the day
While others gnashed their teeths

We fought like there was no tomorrow
Seeking for kid's love
Yet, we survived to live

Literature / My Rib by loritachidera: 8:25pm On Dec 17, 2020
My missing rib
There was a time I had a complete rib
Yes, I knew it, my rib was complete as those of others
I now look for a rib I used to have
Unfortunately, it's missing
The creator gave us our complete rib
I lost my own prior to my birth
Oh, now am in quest of it.
my missing rib? Where's my missing rib?

My missing rib
I got you on a platter of gold
Carelessly, I lost you
I never cared about getting you back
Because, I was only but a child
Now, I have come of age
Oh my missing rib, I search for you ceaselessly, now
My lost rib, let me find and fix you into where you belong

My missing rib
Do not judge my recreant behaviour
But permit me to be with you endlessly and hunt for you joyously
For you are the sacred place for my future plans
Come now, come home, oh my ribs

Literature / Message To The Youths by loritachidera: 10:00am On Dec 03, 2020
MESSAGE TO THE YOUTHS
The youths
We are the voice of the world
The eyes of our dreams
And the heroess of tomorrow

The youths
Outraged by sluggishness
Earnestly, we pray
For the trance has traced us

The youths
Say no to savage treatment
And unite in one stand
But violence, we should desist

The youths
Let's move in the clique of immeasurable love
To cure our consistency
And ignite our persistency

Literature / The Night by loritachidera: 8:10am On Nov 23, 2020
The night has chosen me
To lead it's army
To bring down the storm
The storm that takes the good souls
Which sleeps happily
And faded every decade
So sweet to be forgotten
The moon has smiled onto me
And the sun has danced joyously
The winds makes the trees sway
While the tree waves to every single soul that comes its way
Mother has taken the herbs that heal
To cure the wounded individuals who suffer tremendously
My heart burns like the sun
My soul seems to want to rest
But at the same time, gladdens my heart and lifts my spirit which has refused to sleep in peace
I hope mother comes home soon
Lest I fall asleep forever
But if I do, the wounded souls will be affected
I pray I don't sleep yet, for the sake of mother, father and the dog.

Literature / My Fears by loritachidera: 4:47pm On Nov 14, 2020
My fears
What does my spirit perceive?
Does it see the danger coming?
The danger that rooted some of us to an unknown destination?

What has the dilemma caused me?
To scatter the society?
Or to tear the leaders apart?

Should I let my spright sway in anguish?
While the leaders merry day and night
My spirit seems to want to rest
But the night has cursed me

What more do I want?
To mellow swiftly?
Or to slabber in pains?

Oh!!! How I yearn to tackle my pains
And save myself more questions
The questions that has belittled me
In grief and sorrows

Literature / What The Future Holds For Us by loritachidera: 12:44pm On Nov 14, 2020
WHAT THE FUTURE HOLDS FOR US
What does the future hold for us?
To bounce on the educated ones
And pen-up the illiterates?
What then do we show?
The gratitude of the diabolic ones?
Or the attitude of the teenagers

What does the future hold for us?
To ignore the dreams of our people?
And focus on d vigorous ones?
Who see nothing but let us live in misery

What does the future hold for us?
To swing to their wickedness?
While they cage us in their selfishness
And see us mash bitterly

What does the future hold for us?
To mingle sluggishly?
And sink in our trauma?
What an endless journey to succeed
Alas, the night is nigh

Poems For Review / My Pen by loritachidera: 10:36pm On Nov 13, 2020
MY PEN
My pen is a sword which melts its word
So slinky and pranky
And imbibes in me to soar its wisdom
In a yauld pouch, it exists to hunt
In search of knowledge

My pen
What a tweag to follow
A long walk to achieve
Its ink been clothed with greatness
In a way, harshens its existence

My pen
The uniqueness of time
The belieffulness of all
So wiery to grasp
And precious to be forgotten

My pen
A relief for the brain
The shadow of achievement
Which defeats the giant book
And sharpens its content
