I have picked an interview date. How many more chances do I have to reschedule my appointment date:

As a retiree, the consular will fear that she might want to go and retire finally to America so you need to create ties or activities for her in Nigeria .

Eg, her husband, children and grand children, she is an active elder in the church or mosque, she just opened a big hypermarket and she is the acting CEO. She is the secretary of her employer retirees pension payment department, etc.

The last part is, she should be able to communicate her activities with the consular . Some of her ties should be well indicated in the form ds 160. She may not have time to talk much so ds 160 will say the rest.

This ds 160 form really restricts one, where in the form can one really show strong ties, no place for additional information, no place even askes how many kids you have or if you have kids, only parents information and spouse.
Asides work information or business, how do you prove strong ties on ds 160

There were discrepancies or lies in the information you supplied to the VO regarding the birthing of your American daughter or the VO just felt that you have withheld some information. Sit down and remind yourself such info because it has been noted down and you are still going to be quiz on it.

In the section which ask , Were You Refused a Visa Recently ? Your answer should be like :

Yes i was refused under ina 214b in which i forgot to bring so and so documents regarding the birthing of my baby but i now have everything handy. Or simply , I was refused under ina 214b which was best known to the consular but i respect his or her decision. Right now, i am certain all of my circumstances is perfect for the renewal of my visa.

Thank you very much for the feedback. Just to add there were no discrepancies in the application or feedback. The VO just had issues with us from the beginning of the interview because of the birth ish. He denied a lot of people that day who came for different visa types, while the lady next to him was just issuing white paper and smiling.

So my concern is this. I got my first us visa 2015, travelled and returned, renewed via Dropbox went to brith my daughter and then used same visa to travel for family vacation as well. Upon my renewal via IW, we were called for interview and was denied. The VO questions was around the cost of birthing my daughter though j showed all zero receipts etc, we were denied. Hubby just closed the chapter of America visa and I went further to have my second baby in Naija.
To my question, now I want to apply for a visa alone. The section that says ‘ where you refused a us visa previously’ Explain why… how do I tackle that question. Should I just state based on section 214(b) or I should further explain the issue the VO had around the birth thing?

Abeg make una help me shed light based on experience , that’s what is holding my submission of form

I have been off this platform a long time. What brings me back is this, after birthing my daughter in 2017, I applied for a visa renewal via Dropbox and I was called for an interview.
At the interview the visa was denied, this was in 2019. Reason it was denied was questions around the cost of my daughters birth, though I took my zero receipts etc. in between then and now we had our son in Naija.
Now I am applying for a visiting visa , the part on the form that states ‘ reason for previous denial’
My elders, what the best way to respond to that question in the ds-160 form .
