Music/Radio / Without Banky W There Would Be No Wizkid, Without____ There Would Be No Who? by Loveleelee: 7:56am On Dec 10, 2021
One thing I’ve come to realize in life is that, to succeed, it’s not about what you know but who you know. As an upcoming artiste, your talent is not always enough in most cases. There would have been no Wizkid without Banky W. Banky practically made Big Wiz who and what he is today. It is an undeniable fact. Wizkid cannot deny it except he’s an ungrateful person. M.I. made Ice Prince , same way Don Jazzy made Wande Coal, Tiwa Savage and the rest. D’prince made Rema and Ruger , same way Davido made Peruzzi and Mayorkun. Like he always say, “We rise by lifting others”.

The question now is, Without Banky W There Would Be No Wizkid, Without____ There Would Be No Who? Drop your comments below

Celebrities / This Air Hostess Breastfed A Passenger’s Crying Baby After Mum Ran Out by Loveleelee: 6:32pm On Nov 09, 2018
An air hostess was working on a 5.10am flight in the Philippines when she went out of her way to serve a passenger and her baby in one of the kindest ways possible.

Patrisha Organo, 24, noticed the passenger’s baby was crying after the flight took off and approached them only to find out that the mother had run out of formula.

The passenger and her baby had been at the airport since 9.00pm the previous night, and Patrisha stepped in to help by breastfeeding the baby.

Patrisha, who is the mother of a 9-month old told Daily Mail that she knew the stress the passenger would have been going through, and offered to help.

As soon as I heard the child’s cry, I knew there had to be something that I could do to help.

When the mother told me that she had no formula milk for the child, and I knew that there was none on board, I knew I had to help.

I could only imagine the chaos of those feelings, but as a mother myself I knew the stress she would’ve been going through.

The helplessness you feel when you cannot feed your hungry child is horrible, so I had to step in.

She had been at the airport since the night before so had ran out of milk during the actual flight, which is what caused the baby to cry.

As soon as I could help the baby and the mother I felt so happy – I cannot put into words how fulfilled I felt.

After I had breastfed the baby I escorted her and her mother back to their seat.

But later on, just before I left, the mother sincerely thanked me for all of my help.

I knew the flight was going to be special to me, as I had just received a promotion in my role, but I didn’t realise it would be this special.

I breastfed a stranger’s baby in flight, and I am just so thankful for the gift of a mother’s milk at times of need.

Celebrities / Jadesola Odujole: Here’s What Happened When I Visited Kwara State As A Tourist by Loveleelee: 6:38pm On Oct 19, 2018
I get bored easily and exploring new places sort of helps to keep me grounded. One weekend I’m checking out a waterfall or hiking up a mountain, and during the week I’m back at my daytime job with so much clarity. Such experiences keep me going until my wanderlust kicks in again.

The last Independence Day weekend saw me taking a road trip to Kwara. When I told people I was going to Kwara to explore some places, all I kept on hearing was, “What’s in Kwara?” In fact, if I gave out ₦1000 for each time I heard that, I would be in serious debt now. No jokes.

Kwara state has more than 70 tourist attractions ranging from waterfalls to hills and ancient buildings. In fact, Nigeria’s first museum is actually in Esie, Kwara state. Mungo Park, the first non-Nigerian to see the River Niger, has a cenotaph to his credit in Kwara State. It is so sad that some of these places are either run down or not talked about enough. I mean, Kwara has the highest waterfall in Nigeria and the second highest waterfall in West Africa. But do people know about this?

I left Lagos for Ilorin on Sunday and I arrived after about 4 hours on the road. My first stop was the Post Office where I was going to meet up with my guide Omotosho of Omotosho tours. The first thing I told him was that I was on the search for the best Tuwo in Kwara and I wasn’t going to leave till I found it. Now, with that info in hand, we set off to our first place in the city – Okuta Ilorin. After some photos on the rail track, that is.

Okuta Ilorin
One of the versions of the history of the city believe that Okuta Ilorin is where the city of Ilorin derives its name. This translates to the stone that sharpens iron, i.e, a whetstone. Another version believes Ilorin is the Land of Elephants (Ilu Erin) which was later metamorphosed to Ilorin from ILU-ERIN. There is a neighbourhood in the city called Oko Erin meaning ‘Elephant Forest’. Now, I didn’t go there, but I went to Okuta Ilorin, so guess what story I believe (for now).

Science/Technology / Too Much Sleep Can Kill You - Scientist Revealed by Loveleelee: 6:07pm On Oct 18, 2018
Sleeping for more than eight hours a night could lead to an early death, new research suggests.

A global study led by Keele University has found that people who regularly make time for more sleep could end up with a “serious sleep disorder” that disrupts their breathing and causes an increased risk of heart disease.

As a result, the researchers, who looked at data from 74 studies, said that excessive sleep could be a “marker” of poor health.

Published in the Journal of the American Heart Association, the study examined the link between self-reported sleep, cardiovascular disease and mortality in more than three million participants from 1970 to 2017.

The scientists found that a sleep duration of ten hours is linked with 30 per cent increased risks of early death compared to sleeping for seven hours.

The study also revealed a 56 per cent increased risk of stroke mortality and a 49 per cent increased risk of cardiovascular mortality for those who slept for more than eight hours.

Lead researcher Dr Chun Shing Kwok, who works at Keele University’s Institute for Science and Technology in Medicine, explains: “Our study has an important public health impact in that it shows that excessive sleep is a marker of elevated cardiovascular risk.

“Our findings have important implications as clinicians should have greater consideration for exploring sleep duration and quality during consultations.

“If excessive sleep patterns are found, particularly prolonged durations of eight hours or more, then clinicians should consider screening for adverse cardiovascular risk factors and obstructive sleep apnoea, which is a serious sleep disorder that occurs when a person’s breathing is interrupted during sleep.”

The study, which also found that poor sleep quality was associated with a 44 per cent increase in coronary heart disease, is one of many that highlight the impact sleep can have on a person’s physical health.

Last month, the University of Sydney revealed that oxygen deprivation caused by sleep apnoea could cause your brain to shrink in the regions which play an important role in memory and which are also affected by dementia.

Similarly, a recent study by the University of Glasgow found that an insufficient amount of sleep could also be detrimental to your mental health.

The findings concluded that a disrupted circadian rhythm can lead to an increased possibility of developing mood disorders and lower levels of happiness.
