What looks like a regular Yoruba village setting in Nigeria is actually situated in South Carolina, USA and it is known as the Oyotunji village.

The community was founded by a Black American named Walter Eugene King who was born on October 5, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan, USA

Eugene became intrigued with the African culture the Cass Technical High School and got fascinated by the African culture.

In 1970, Eugene established the Yoruba Village of Oyotunji in Beaufort County, South Carolina, and began the careful reorganization of the Orisa-Vodu Priesthood along traditional Nigerian lines. He was initiated to the Ifa priesthood by the Oluwa of Ijeun at Abeokuta, Nigeria, in August of 1972.

He was named king of Oyotunji community in 1972 with the designation, His Royal Highness Oba (King) Ofuntola Oseijeman Adelabu Adefunmi I, born Baba Adefunmi. He later died and his son, Adefunmi Adejuyigbe reigned in his stead as king.

Ritesh Agarwal is a 21-year-old who decided to take charge of his situation and make a name in one of the most populous nations in the world.

An experience he had while locked out out of his house in Delhi changed his life for good. He had checked into a hotel and discovered how everything didn’t seem to be working perfectly and he thought of how he could change this and make the hotel business a better and more appealing business for its users.

Agarwal in 2013 founded Oyo Rooms – a network of 2,200 hotels operating in 100 cities across India – with monthly revenues of $3.5m (£2.3m) and 1,500 employees.

The firm works with unbranded hotels to improve their facilities and train staff, rebrands them with its own name, and from then on takes a percentage of the hotel’s revenues. The owner of the hotel then benefits from a higher occupancy rate, thanks to Oyo’s branding

To make the business more effective, Mr Agarwal developed an app, which guests can use to book rooms, get directions to the hotel, and once they have arrived, to use the hotels amenities, for example to order room service.

Agarwal’s success story has had its own share of highs and lows. Starting off was extremely strenuous for him and many failed to see the potential of his business idea. He was able to secure a Thiel Fellowship – a programme sponsored by PayPal co-creator and early Facebook investor Peter Thiel, which pays 20 teenagers to quit school and become entrepreneurs instead. He used what he got from Thiel as seed money to start up his company.

Now, Ritesh wants to expand globally and become the creator of the world’s largest network of hotel rooms.

His advice to young upcomers? “Start early”, he says, “Start really fast and, if you fail, you will learn and the chances of success in the next venture will increase.”

At inception, Agarwal had just one hotel he was working with and from their, kept working at his hardest to get to the top.

Now the business has grown, it has become much easier to attract investors, and the firm recently secured $100m from Japan’s Softbank.

When the company first started, Agarwal was told by many that he was crazy.

Shrugging this off, the tech prodigy said, “But because it was crazy, it was doable. It’s true: if you think crazy stuff that is when it becomes a lot more doable.”

I didn’t want to put up anything on my site, but I’m trying to make it a bit more personal, so let’s see how this goes.

Anyhoo, so on Saturday 5th September, I had my introduction. This is where the families of the bride and groom officially meet. We had expected about 100 people, I hear there were about 250 people there! Eeek!!

I didn’t sleep well the night before, because I was so nervous and I really didn’t know what to expect. I’ve been to events like this before, but I’m generally in a corner somewhere just observing.

Today the attention was all on me…and that was so unnerving! I’m used to being on stage, but then work-mode has been activated, so in my mind its all about work.

I was so nervous, couldn’t eat…also because I was paranoid that I would get food stuck in my braces and would end up having lots of pictures with efo (spinach) hanging from my teeth lol.

I worked myself up so much that I ended up developing a nervous tick. My right eye twitched for hours and I could barely stop myself from freaking out….but when I saw him aka Bae the twitching stopped…(and the crowd went awwww!)

The veteran actor has claimed that his wife, Emma Ike, has abandoned her four children, who are between ages 4 and 13.

His wife has however refuted such claims and in a statement revealed Emeka Ike took her children away from her and turned them against her.

According to her:

“Even when he didn’t allow me access to see our children, I spoke with them on several occasions but now, he doesn’t allow me anymore. My children are now against me.

“I almost went mad when my first son told me on phone that if I truly loved them, I wouldn’t have abandoned them no matter what. Even my seven-year-old son whose day wouldn’t be complete without seeing me said he doesn’t love me. I love my children. I miss my children. I never abandoned them. I am in pain. They don’t have any other mother. I really need my children. I am a good woman; I endured so many things as his wife.”

meka Ike has called out, Pastor Chris Okotie again calling him an Anti-Christ. Emeka in an interview with The Cable, said the pastor’s response to him through his media aide shows all he said about him was nothing but the truth.
