Autos / Chisco Radiator Coolant by Loyalchris: 8:38pm On Jan 12, 2023
Growing up, my father instilled in me the habit of filling up his cars' radiator with a coolant. He hammered on how important it was to do that to prevent the car from overheating. I remember waking up before everyone else to wash my dad's car and also drive it around the estate. One day, in a bid to practice some of the 'Fast N Furious' tricks I thought I had learnt, I bashed my father's car and boy, I got a beating of a lifetime. That's a story for another day though.

Last week, I was in a rush to meet up with an appointment and I totally forgot to apply a coolant into the radiator.

I would much later regret this thoughtless decision.

I turned on the car's ignition. I got in, fastened my seatbelt and headed straight for my appointment. Driving in Lagos is one of most humbling experiences ever; any Lagosian can attest to this. It gets worse when your car which was hitherto moving well suddenly parks up in the middle of a notorious road at the wee hours of the day. I alighted from the car, wanting to know exactly why my car would want to start my day with disappointments. A long hiss was being drawn by the car's engine, the type that drew Eve close to the apple. You could see hot air escaping from the car's bonnet, it didn't take much for me to realize that the car had overheated.

I stood there, transfixed, rooted to the spot, waiting for an unlikely hero to come to my aid. I knew for certain that YOU DO NOT, ON ANY CIRCUMSTANCE TRY TO OPEN A CAR BONNET WHEN THE CAR HAS JUST OVERHEATED. About 20 minutes into me waiting, a group of road transport workers, the ones you people call 'touts' came around and asked what the problem was, I explained my predicament to them, they understood my plight and offered to help. One suggested we used water since the car had cooled down, another said he had a new coolant that had just been introduced into the market and was doing wonders. I opted for the latter. He rushed to where he kept it and fetched it.

This new coolant was indeed different from the all the others I had seen in the past, I was skeptical about it as anyone would be, but I was in dire need of help so I opted to to use it. While using it, I observed the name of the Coolant, it read "Chisco Coolant" "Okay cool" I sighed.

After applying it, I turned on the car's ignition, she screamed back into life. I revved it to see if she was happy to be back, she let out screams of joy, pleasure and thanksgiving. Exactly what I wanted to hear. I 'settled' my 'knights in shining armor'; the 'road transport workers'. Funny how the people you think could offer little or no help turn around to be the ones that would provide you with the needed help. Who would have thought?

It's been 5 solid days after the appointment and I'm still sticking with my Chisco Coolant, there's literally no more funny engine noises, my car doesn't stop in the middle of nowhere any longer, the fuel consumption of the vehicle has reduced drastically. It's almost as if the coolant has supernatural features.

With just 4,000, you can get yourself a Chisco Coolant at any automobile store near you.

Nairaland / General / Common Mistakes Inverter Battery Users Make by Loyalchris: 3:11pm On Jan 11, 2023
Distilled water is a water that has been purified using the one of the preferred techniques distillation .

A lot of inverter battery users are fond of making these mistakes each time they want to service their inverter batteries

1. They make use of regular water instead of distilled water . Regular water contains ions which can cause scale formation and damage the electrodes in the battery meanwhile distilled water contains no ions and helps make the battery function better

2. They don’t regularly check the level of the electrolyte

3. They don’t check the SG of new electrolyte when ever the old electrolyte is replaced
