I have been single throughout my entire 33 years on earth, focusing on my life and staying on my own without trouble or relationship. Two years ago, my parents started bothering me about marriage, saying that I should get married since I had gotten a job (job wey nor reach 6 months yet). When I ask them the reason for bothering me so much, they say that they are old and very sick, and they want to put their house in order.

I met this girl on Facebook last year in July. We started chatting, and she gave me a good impression. Her type was rare, she was finishing her undergraduate program at the university.

THE IMPRESSION:
She was not asking me for money or telling me she was hungry and other stuff like that . I also noticed she was doing her final year project by herself and was even helping other girls with theirs. She was even sending me her academic results, and she got a 5.0 in her final year results. It didn't take her long to set up a professional LinkedIn account and a good CV. She had even learned most of the software related to her course of study and mastered them. When I asked her about her past relationships, she told me she had only dated one guy, and it was a long-distance relationship in which she only had sex twice. She was always telling me about all her day to day activities. I was happy, thinking I had found myself a good wife.

HOW I STARTED PAYING HER BILLS:
Because she was not asking me for money, whenever she told me she wanted to go and do something, I would just ask how much and send her the money. She was always very excited. Even if I sent her 2k, she would appreciate it and be very happy.

RELOCATING TO LAGOS:
During all this, she was in my state in the South-South while I was in Lagos State in the South-West. Because she was always applying for jobs online, she finally got a job that brought her to Lagos.

HER EXCESSIVE SPENDING:
When she wanted to come to Lagos, she didn't have a place to stay. Her sister had to call a church member to call another church member to help her with accommodations. She stayed there for one month. Before that month was over, she told me she was looking for her own place because the woman had started giving her attitude.

Before I knew it, she had rented a place that costs almost six months of her salary without even telling me (120k salary). Her transport is 2k naira daily, and she tells me she spends 20k on a pot of soup. She is always using Uber to the mainland, yet her salary is small. Someone who didn't know anywhere in Lagos, she stopped telling me things about her life. The place is not even close to her office. When you add the transport costs, the money just finishes. She started spending excessively and requested money to buy things for her house. I sent her 60k naira, and she didn't even appreciate it. At that time, I had problems with my company and was transferred to the far North. I asked her to come and pack things from my house to hers, because all that she needed was in my house and I was looking for where to keep those things. She rejected it and said she needed all her things new. I told her everything in my house was new, but she still rejected it. between September to January she got the job she has gotten herself 2 phone, 1 iPhone and a small phone.

note: where she is working is not a place she can see even 1 naira aside her salary

THE CHANGE:
All this while, I noticed that she would not pick my calls or have a serious chat with me on weekends. I didn't really know what was happening because I was busy with my life and planning how I would travel to the far North. I wasn't paying attention. When I got to the North, I still noticed she wasn't picking my calls on any weekend. I still didn't let that bother me, Throughout the December holiday (December 19 to January 4), she was not picking up or chatting. When I called, she would only say "let's chat," yet she would not reply to any message I sent. She only calls me when she is at the office. On Valentine's Day, I just decided to try. She picked up the call, heard my voice, and asked "Who is this?" I was angry and hung up. I called back after 10 minutes, but she was still not picking up.

Recently, she asked me how much an international passport costs. Does this mean she is still communicating with her ex, whom she told me had relocated to the UK and that was the reason she broke up with him? Or does it mean she got another man in Lagos before she even came down to Lagos?
