FORWARDEVERLY: The army job has been bastardised... We currently have 3 depot NA .. I remember speaking to one young soldier a few years back and he told me that during their training they usually pick used condoms from parade ground and I wept.. During our time at Depot NA Zaria.. dem drill us sotey you no go know say your Preek dey work till you wan piss ... As for the Boko haram matter... You made a good point.. I fought in North east especially Borno state from 2010-2019 .. We saw it all, from the inception of Boko haram attack after the 2009 uprising was quelled.. from Boko haram coming to attack with two bikes and only one person having Kala amongst the two bikes to them capturing a full LGA like Bama, Baga etc... Nigerian army and DHQ is not ready for the fight ... It's unfortunate that our soldiers keep on dying in this war.. Well, I have played my part.. I wish them the best.. 3 Depot now? Why? how? I feel you, my brother I joined 2012. And serve all through in Borno, I literally know every corner in Maiduguri. At a point only our barracks was standing because we had a rugged C. O. But then Nigeria does not deserve ones genuine service. I'm out of the system too, some of my known colleagues who are still alive are too. I'm enjoying my civilian life outside the country, but seeing innocent soldiers been killed by those bastards making me feel pissed-up. Too many fatherless kids in the barracks. That country is a mess Nigeria has a long way to go! |

wallrichy: You are a lucky man to still be alive today and out of that den of terrorists. Now, as an experienced soldier, do you think they can over run the South West as they are doing in the Northern region? They "terrorist" are visitors. Those that flew planes into World Trade Center 9/11 Were of course visitors. Now back to your question, if you welcome the visitors (terrorist) giving them a soft landing, then the South West would be conquered. It's left for you to decide. You don't negotiate with terrorists, not minding whose ox is gored. They are not invisible. The solution; you give them a higher babaric violence, that's the only language they understand. |

Psoul: Soldiers that will be doing TikTok, Instagram and Whatsapp on duty. They will wear earphones 🎧 playing loud music. How will they know when danger is around.
I've said it before that soldiers in the field should not use smart phones. Some of them will be fighting and also protecting their phones from getting lost it broken. How can such a soldier fight successfully?
No matter how well armed the Boko Haram boy are, capturing well trained soldiers like this is so embarrassing. Stupidly embarrassing! |

TONYE001: Thank you for your service.
But the problem is beyond this. We've seen these terrorists slaughter highly ranked military men too. Commanders, etc.
I think it's a multi-layered problem. To start with, how much are our security men paid? In any society, teachers, security men, and health workers should be among the top-paid groups.
How about military tools? Weapons and all?
These terrorists appear sponsored by God-knows-who. They have weapons, they have unimaginable amounts of money at their disposal (from ransoms, ?sponsors, etc). Our soldiers are not even paid up to 250k, or are they?
If a soldier is well-kitted, is paid handsomely, and if such a soldier knows that if he loses his life, his family will be well taken care of by the government, brotherman will give his all for society.
Of course, this is not to downplay the role of vigilance and tactical skills/competence. In summary, you are (were) in the system, you know much better than I do.
Again, thank you for your service. 1; You caught my attention with your questions. As a fellow Nigeria the truth is Nigeria govt has no single regard for her soldiers, It's worse in the Army. not everyone was meant to be a soldier. Most active soldiers in Nigerian military are docile. Passing through some basic training alone don't make you a soldier. My anger is; some don't know why they are soldiers. You don't just recruite bunch of clowns who can't personally commit calculated violence and call them soldiers . Until when Nigeria begins to regard the life of a single soldier, that's the day those bastards will disappear from Nigeria. Touch a single US soldier, and you'd be brutally wiped out. Touch a bunch of Nigerian soldiers and you'd be rehabilitated and called; "our brothers" by their sympathizers. That alone is enough to demoralize a soldier. |

I lost interest and left the job after I realized the people I was giving my life for has no single regard for me, they'd even reverence a B.H as against me, and my service. It will only get worse. |

PresidentMUGABE: The only place not being terrorised presently by kidnappers is South East and some South South States that shares borders with South East.
Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Balyesa and Cross Rivers are the lucky states.....
Same way America has shielded Canada is the same way South Eastern states have shielded those lucky states.
Edo and Delta open border with Kogi has made them vulnerable....to banditry.
South Eastern states are the only people that can travel to their various villages....
I envy them alot.....
Every other states taken over . Remove Delta from your list. It's a no go area for them. We no dey hide our own. |

NOETHNICITY: Now check the names and religion of those killed and you will see that the overwhelming majority of them are Muslims. We are not supposed to go down this path of counting number of victims by religion. Unfortunately, Nigerian Christians who are conspiring with foreign interests against this country are bent on tearing us apart. That area of Adamawa is a 90% Christian dominated area. Same as Michica. If you don't know a thing, don't even try to talk about it. Makes you seen as an instigator and part of the problem. |
