The initial wave of generative AI was characterized by experimentation writing basic emails, generating images, and brainstorming ideas. However, entering 2026, the landscape has fundamentally shifted. The "test-and-learn" era of artificial intelligence is over; we have entered the age of enterprise integration and deep structural change. From corporate restructurings to the rise of autonomous agents, automation is no longer just shifting routine tasks. It is fundamentally rewriting how businesses operate, how teams are structured, and what it truly means to be productive. Here is an in-depth look at exactly why and how AI tools are rewriting the rules of the future of work in 2026. The Shift from Conversational Bots to Agentic AI In previous years, professionals relied on conversational interfaces where every single step required a prompt. In 2026, the defining technological shift is the mainstream adoption of Agentic AI autonomous systems capable of reasoning, planning, and executing multi-step workflows with minimal human oversight. Rather than just drafting an email, 2026 AI tools can autonomously review a customer support ticket, cross-reference internal databases, draft a resolution, execute the technical fix, and send a personalized follow-up. The Reality Check: This shift means workplace automation is moving from "task completion" to "role augmentation." Workers are increasingly moving into supervisory roles, auditing and validating the outputs generated by autonomous AI agents. slimstanakacns:I never said he's not fit..... I only want to know why he should be voted for, because this is not the first time Nigerians have seen fit a person and ended up being a failure. A lot of Nigerians saw Late Buhari as the savior but how did it end? |
The Chief of Staff to the President, Mr Femi Gbajabiamila, says members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and other Nigerians want President Bola Tinubu to continue in office in 2027. Gbajabiamila spoke with newsmen on Saturday in Surulere, Lagos, during the APC presidential primary election. The chief of staff, who arrived at his Ward G2, Adeniran Ogunsanya, at 12.48pm with his mother, Alhaja Lateefat Gbajabiamila, said the massive turnout of party members and supporters reflected growing confidence in Tinubu’s leadership and reform agenda. According to him, Nigerians have continued to show understanding of the administration’s long-term economic and political policies. “This crowd is out here for one reason and one reason only. “To express their love, to express their desire for continuity for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to continue as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for the next four years. “And you can see the crowd, overwhelming, and we are grateful; we are grateful,” he said. Gbajabiamila said supporters thronged the venue despite the inclement weather because of their belief in the president’s vision. “You can see under the hot sun, you can see my 96-year-old mother as well, and the young, the old, men and women, they are all here. “It turns out there are large numbers because of the good work of this government and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. That’s why they are here,” he said. The presidential aide said many Nigerians understood that reforms introduced by the administration were designed for long-term benefits Why do you think they have this strong belief that he is capable of continuing the good work? “Well, a lot of people in Nigeria, a lot of people, are very discerning. “They understand the policies of this government,” he said. Nigerian Breweries, NB Plc, has warned that the continued global instability could lead to Foreign Exchange, FX, risks, supply issues and higher inflation in Nigeria. Speaking to newsmen on the performance of the company for the financial year 2025, at its pre-Annual General Meeting, AGM, in Lagos, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, NB Plc, Mr Thibaut Boidin, said: “The initial indicators were that 2026 would be a year of macroeconomic stability and growth following the prior year reforms of the government. “However, recent events in the Middle East have disrupted this outlook, pushing crude oil prices above $100 in the first quarter leading to higher petrol and diesel prices. The continued instability could lead to FX risks, supply issues and higher inflation.” He, however, stated that Nigeria has huge potentials that could be explored, while calling on the government to make policy that will unlock financing for the farmers as well as promote import substitution. He noted that NB performed well in 2025 following the company’s continued investment in employees and product development. Also commenting, Mrs Maria Karaseva , Finance Director, said : “ 2025 marked a rebound in our financial performance as our group revenue rose 35% to N1.5 trillion supported by appropriate pricing. Our gross profit also surged by 77% to N566 billion; operating profit grew by 194% to N205 billion supported by cost initiatives and supply chain efficiencies. We ended the year by reversing the net losses recorded in 2023and 2024. The Group profit before tax recorded N161 billion and a net profit of N99 billion compared to the loss before tax of N183 billion and net loss of N145 billion respectively in 2024.” She further explained that the turnaround in profitability was supported in no small measure by an 83% reduction in net finance expenses reflecting the benefits of the 2024 Rights Issue which helped the company to deleverage its balance sheet as well as pay off overdue FX payables. While commenting on the prospects of shareholders, Uaboi Agbebaku, Company Secretary, said: “Our shareholders have been benefitting from our dividend payments for the past years. We are very deliberate about our dividend policy. Our shareholders have benefitted from our Rights Issue, as well as share price appreciation. The future of the company is bright. We are confident that in no distant time and supported by a conducive operating environment we will reverse the negative retained earnings situation to a positive one thereby enabling the company to resume the payment of dividends to all shareholders Read More Here https://quibblesapp.com/posts/business/69e626ce5ccce7a57e8f7358/NB+warns+continued+instability+could+lead+to+FX+risk%2c+higher+inflation

Retired personnel of the Nigeria Police Force and their families on Monday blocked a gate of the Presidential Villa in Abuja in protest against their continued inclusion in the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS). The protesters, under the aegis of the Police Retired Officers Forum of Nigeria (PROF), described the scheme as “fraudulent, illegal, inhumane, and obnoxious,” calling on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to assent to the Police Exit Bill. According to the retirees, the bill—passed by the National Assembly on December 4, 2025, and transmitted to the Presidency on March 16, 2026—would remove police personnel from the CPS if signed into law. Leading the protest, the National Coordinator of PROF, CSP Raphael Irowainu (retd.), said the demonstration was aimed at urging the president to act on the legislation. “Our major aim here is to prevail on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to sign our bill—the bill exiting the police from the Contributory Pension Scheme—passed by the National Assembly on 4th December 2025 and transmitted to him on 16th March, 2026, into law, nothing more than that,” he said. Irowainu lamented that while other security agencies have been removed from the scheme, police personnel remain included. “The soldiers have been exited, the SSS has been exited, the Air Force has been exited, the Navy has been exited, the National Intelligence Agency has been exited. The police, who are the father of them all, are trapped in this obnoxious Contributory Pension Scheme,” he added. The retirees argued that the CPS has adversely affected their welfare, describing it as a “slavery and untimely death-inducing pension scheme.” Monday’s protest is not the first by retired police officers over the issue. In July 2025, retirees staged a similar demonstration at the National Assembly, demanding their removal from the scheme. Some of the demonstrators, many of them elderly, also protested at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, decrying what they described as poor pension conditions under the CPS. Read More Here The latest protest underscores growing dissatisfaction among retired police personnel over pension reforms and their exclusion from benefits extended to other security agencies. https://quibblesapp.com/posts/Politics/69e623745ccce7a57e8f7352/Retired%2Bpolice%2Bofficers%2Bprotest%2Bover%2Bpension%2Bscheme%252c%2Bblock%2BPresidential%2BVilla%2Bgate
