My observation: serious dealers are not online.

You did not specify if the price he quoted for you was for China new, Taiwan new, Nigeria used or direct tokunbo & the type you eventually brought.

Several factors determine the price of auto parts, ranging from source, quality & nature.
I can quote for a complete exhaust system and you eventually end up buying the exhaust pot only, the two cannot be the same price.
