BY SCRATCH i mean... computer appreciation and its basic functions.... THEN FROM SUCH LEVEL YOU CAN DECIDE WHICH ASPECT OF COMPUTING you are passionate about....
PROGRAMMING?
ANIMATIONS?
GRAPHIC DESIGN?
DATABASE?
ROBOTICS?
Etc

i wish you well. pls DO NOT GO TO A UNIVERSITY or POLYTECHNIC for computer science.... YOU MAY JUST BE UNEMPLOYABLE... because the knowledge will not help you far in life.

off your window update, it might be that you have already downloaded some update which didn't complete, it might lead to your system having issues, I will advise you to roll back to a previous update

You will have to check if your hard drive is set as first booting device, weak hard drive and virus are also a major cause, you will have to see an engineer, if you are in Benin I can help you with that

Thanks for the reply I have try that before but I'm thinking I should update the system to window 10 if that will solve the problem currently using window 7 the system has been inspected by an engineer so it's not a hardware problem

Right click the start menu, open power options, when it open
choose when to turn off display, under plugged in
adjust the brightness level towards the lower( that is reduce the value from high to low)
your screen will brighten, do this when you plug your charger to laptop save changes and restart.

so as the screen goes of you remove the charger and on the system with the battery and it displays again right

Wow, it could be true, cos I remember this problem wasn't always there, I've been trying to figure out when and why it started....

Another issue I have is that sometimes my touchpad presses by itself, if I'm browsing, the cursor will automatically highlight everything...... Don't know what causes that too, whether it's software or hardware issue

a couple of things are responsible for this, the first culprit here is your charger, try and get a follow come charger first, does your keypad jump when typing, we will start troubleshooting with your charger first

I salute all the guru in the house my hp dm4 laptop screen light goes off whenever charger is plugged but work fine when using the battery so unable to use it when charging.

is the screen dim ( that is you cant see any light comes out from the laptop) or the screen doesn't display at all, I will advice you to put a bright torch on the screen as you on the system with charger if you will see anything coming out on the screen, carefully observe

3 factor normally lead to your screen not displaying, bad screen or module, bad ram or incompartable ram, and lastly VGA, to your question it depends on the motherboard you buy

After browsing lately a problem started occurring
I discovered that the cmd will be blinking (popping up and flashing) for few seconds and then it will stop after some minutes it will occur again
What Do I do Because this disrupts activity on the laptop for some seconds cause it is used for presentations

your cmd is popping up because there might be virus on your system, you can always stop the cmd from appearing using your task manager

since it's an HP switch of the system and on the system quickly press f10 button that will take you to your system bios, then navigate to your system configuration (depending on your bios ) you should see USB functions there and enable it
