Man is the maker of his own destiny. He cannot choose the place and condition of Birth but he can choose the direction of his life. In the early phase of his life, he feels emotions of love and hate, likes and dislikes and has happy or sad experiences.

As one matures, he becomes ambitious and yearns to quench the thirst for worldly desires. Man is totally responsible for his personal and social life, but today one and all are stuck with setbacks, difficulties and calamities.

This has nothing to do with the bible.
