Truth is none of these accounts are safe. You can only reduce the risk by ensuring you don't expose all of your cash to your payment card or everyday transactions. Always have an account separate from one you use daily to hold your savings. For me I have both Current and Savings. My current holds my daily transaction cash while my Savings holds my not to be touched savings. That account has no channel (card or USSD or mobile App) to it. You can also have your daily transaction accounts in a separate bank and transfer to that account anytime you want to transact. It's been over 2 years since I last used any ATM to withdraw money. I don't use my ATM on POS machines either. Whenever I need cash for self maintenance, all I need to do is to call one of my customers to prepare so and so amount for me. |

I doubt if the bands currently have the option to have it disabled. Better put a PIN by yourself even when you don't intend to use it before the wrong person does it for you.
Better safe than sorry  I was able to have it deactivated on my first bank account, though it was once active. Now if you try to activate it, the prompt is 'this phone number is not associated with any FBN account' meanwhile its the number they send me OTP on and any sms communication. |

No, your phone cane with a shop/fake rom and you shouldn't have gone ahead with the OTA as the said fake Rom doesn't support it. Exactly what I thought. Meaning it's that EDL stuff that can fix it. I think somebody succeeded in doing that here with the help of someone he met online. At this point, I would advise buyers to discard their negative perception of Chinese rom. Truth is that it is not all Chinese because one can still select English as language. The mi 5x I gave to my brother who's a novice on xiaomi products, I have never heard him complain about it being Chinese rom since all he sees in the phone is English it's the excessive quest for global rom and bias for Chinese rom that make some Chinese sellers so desperate as to modding shop rom, installing them and deceiving buyers that it's global rom official. |
