Nigerians found guilty of any form of hate speech that results in the death of another person shall die by hanging upon conviction, reads a new bill by the Senate.

According to Guardian, the bill, which reflects to the high rising concern over the spate of violence in the nation, was sponsored by the spokesman of the upper chamber, Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi (APC, Niger).

It also seeks the establishment of an ‘Independent National Commission for Hate Speeches’, which shall enforce hate speech laws across the country, ensure the elimination of the menace and advise the Federal Government.

A Japanese lady in her 20s has shared shocking photos which show the deeply distressing images of domestic abuse.

A 46-year-old Zimbabwean man, Musiyiwa Denhere, who claims to have acquired marine spirits from the underground world, has reportedly confessed to killing over 100 persons.

The self-acclaimed ‘tsikamutanda’ from Gweru, Mkoba part of the country said the marine spirits which he had worked under are now demanding that he compensates them by sacrificing his 3-year-son son or wife.

Power failure at the Senate’s New Building on Tuesday marred the screening of the non-career ambassadorial nominees for whom President Muhammadu Buhari is seeking legislative approval.

The abduction of a two-month-old baby, Kudus Adebowale, by a customer has unsettled traders at a market in the Badagry Roundabout area of Lagos State.

Kudu’s mother, Mrs. Alimat Adebowale, sells biscuits in the market, while the suspected abductor was identified simply as T-girl.

The said T-girl was well known to most of the traders in the market and had lived in the community for over four years until a few months ago when she travelled.

T-girl was said to have returned to the neighbourhood last week and went to the market, where she was treated to a warm reception around 9am on Thursday.

It was gathered that she approached Alimat, who was breastfeeding the baby, Kudus, and took the child under the guise of playing with him.

She reportedly strapped Kudus to her back afterwards and sat on a chair behind his mother, who was busy attending to customers.

“Nobody knew when she (T-girl) disappeared from the market with the baby. The mother had looked back to check on Kudus, when she discovered that she had left the market with her child. We called her number, but she didn’t pick our calls. That was when it occurred to us that she had stolen the baby.

“I don’t really blame Iya Kudus. She thought the child was in a safe hand because almost everybody here knows T-girl. She would come to buy things here and play with us. She is from Ibadan (Oyo State) and had lived here for more than four years before she travelled some months ago. The National Chairman of the new Mega party, Action Democratic Party, ADP, Yagbaji Sani, said the situation in the country calls for political realignment and re-direction.

The mega party said it has all it takes to address the socio-political problems confronting the country.

A Lagos-based building engineer identified only as Ogundare has reportedly killed his lover, Oriyomi Folarin and his rival, Akinade Omole, aka Currency for allegedly jilting him.

The incident, which happened on Ebijimi Street in the Meiran area of the state, has left residents in awe.

Ogundare and Folarin had been in a romantic relationship for years until sometime in 2016 when he (Ogundare) reportedly had financial challenges and could no longer meet his lover ’s needs.

Before their relationship went sour, Ogundare had allegedly rented a shop for the woman and rented an apartment for her in the Agbado area of Ogun State.

The woman, a divorcee popularly called Iya Corner, operated a beer parlor on the street and had three children. on Sunday Ogundare had seen a Highlander Jeep that Omole parked at a filling station a few metres away from the beer parlour and had allegedly trailed him to his lover’s shop.

He stormed the shop with a gallon of petrol, allegedly poured the content on the woman and his rival and set them ablaze.

The fire was also said to have spread to Ogundare’s hand while fleeing the scene.

It was learnt that Omole and Folarin died in a hospital in the community on Monday from the burns they suffered.
