I guess you have a valid point. But where I disagree is your comment in quote "There is nothing they sing that these current generation hasn’t modernized". I believe "modernized" is doing some heavy lifting here. Generations come and go, and music as an art will certainly reflect the technological (in terms of music production) and social (in terms of target audience) trend of the particular era. It doesn't mean they have "modernised" what their predecessor has done. You can't "modernise" live instrumentation, percussion ensembles and organic room acoustics. Those are different to programmed drums, synths and vocal processing that you hear in afrobeats nowadays. If you mean "modernized" by style of music, then I can partly agree that current style to some degree, reflects the style of previous generations but not necessarily the actual body of work.

Again, I'm only drawing comparisons, not demeaning the talent that the likes of Asake, Wizkid, Burna Boy obviously has, I made that point known earlier. I archive their albums and go to their shows. Heck I travel to see Wizkid, Burna, Asake etc perform. Even travelled to Dublin to see Burna Boy perform in 2022. I only by an unfortunate situation, missed out on Asake's Red Bull Orchestral performance in New York (November 2025).

Side note: Growing up, my pops was always belting out Sunny Ade, Osadebe, Ebenezer Obey etc and thought at the time that those music were garbage. I appreciate those work a lot more now that I'm older. I'm not sure if the next generation would be able to say the same thing about the majority of Afrobeats music of this generation (Quantity over quality). My ultimate argument (or at least most of it) is, music back then has a lot more meaning than most music of nowadays. I guess we appreciate music differently.

I disagree with this too "All these old people don’t know that their time has passed now" You don't know me - I'm not even 40 - well, unless you're 15 then you can call me a dinosaur. I just enjoy music of those era, it's the same as how I deeply enjoy the projects of the likes of Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Miles Davies, 2 Pac etc. It doesn't mean I don't belt out Drake, Kendrick Lamar etc, at any given opportunity.

Clean visuals but I'd like to see the style of Lagbaja, Fela etc make a re-entry into Nigeria's music scene. Most afrobeats projects nowadays has revolved around rhymes that at best, appears disjointed when you attempt to follow the message and lyrics.
