When I was 12 my father used to pay me everyday i came to help him in his shop, i used to save atleast 20k in a month then. I made a lot of money then that I didn’t know what to use it for.

I landed my first cooperate job @ 23 during my 300level in the university as an office assistant to a house of rep member. The salary was 35k.

I got a federal job last year as I turned 30 years with salary of over 100k after all deductions.

I’m grateful to God but I’m still looking for a better opportunity elsewhere. I won’t stop untill I start taking home at least 500k every month.

Nah so one of my area brother got federal appointment this year also.
He bought a brand new car within 6 months.

Many people have gotten jobs without applying.
If someone wants to help you he will just submit your full name, once you collect your appointment letter you will then write an application letter for formality before documentation.

Lol.....Prisoners rarely give bribe because 90 percent of prisoners in Nigeria are poor men or people from poor background, rich people hardly go to jail in this part of the world.

The man doesn’t sell his slots he gives it out as a Favour to family and friends he has really been a blessing to many.
To me he feels he owes me a job because I’ve been very loyal to him right from my secondary school days till now.

I’m going to call him today and politely turndown the job, I will also ask him if I can sell the job and use the money to process my visa but i doubt if he will agree because I’ve never heard he sold a job and he also likes discouraging people from traveling outside the country to hustle.
But no harm in trying.

It’s not as if I don’t need a job I do, but taking this job will be like settling for less and blocking the way for more. I make over 80k now in my side hustle but am still not comfortable.
I know that once I start this job more responsibility will be added to me by my family not to talk of other small small Billings from family and friends.

This man has given many people jobs in FIRS, CBN, Immigration And NDLEA.
I know that he will soon get one of these slots again I just have to be patient.

I know the need to feel masculine can be exasperating, but appearance has to be considered also.

I prefer a clean shaved guy any day to someone with beards, trimmed or not.

80k is alot of money now, you have to also consider the fact that it is a government job, meaning less stressful and ability to grow with time.

You are right, but the thing is that I have a side hustle that gives me up to that in a month though it’s not sustainable but it gives me time to socialize and also travel around and I don’t think this job will give me that liberty.

The two things going on my mind are:

I think this job is going to take away my social life, my passion and also my beard and the salary is not worth it.

Secondly, turning down this job offer my upset this man because this is the second time he is offering me a job.
I’m so confused!

It's over worth it, though it depends on your level and with time, as you get promoted, your salary will also Increase. Free housing all through your service and as a young chap you might retire earning up to a million with which your gratuity and pension will be worked. Most importantly, the job is secured and pension is constant. My dad received his pensions till his dyiing days without hitches.


Don't look at the now. Look at the future. You may also need to run some courses to speed up your promotion and get you up there in a short time. My dad did a lot of courses those days and it really helped him Climbed up fast in Rank.

Lastly, its about you And what you want. If you don't feel up to it, don't do it!

It’s never my plan to work and retire as a civil servant. I just need a nice job that I can save some money to invest in a business or process my Australia visa.

For the thirtysix years my dad served in the NPS, we never saw a beard cos he was always shaving every morning. Likewise other officers in the quarters. Only a few of them had moustache. Like the controller general of prisons then.

This is very sad, so I’m going to shave my precious beard

Good day guys
I’m about to get an appointment letter to work in Nigeria correctional service (prison) though I didn’t apply for the job.
According to my findings online they are not allowed to grow beards.
Now here are my questions, is there anyway one can keep his beard while working there and how much is the salary of a Degree holder?
Please help me with answers so that I can make up my mind thanks.
