Which wrongdoing is he fighting against? Soludo decision to support Tinubu is not a wrong doing, it's his choice and must be respected. The same others choose to support Obi VoiceHenshaw27: Sometimes, we are quick to condemn or criticise people for how they choose to publicly disagree with their parents, especially when they speak out against their parents' wrongdoing. But we must understand that being someone's child does not mean endorsing everything they do, particularly when it is wrong. Soludo's son is a good example. Standing against wrongdoing, even when it involves one's own parents, can take courage. Respecting your parents should not mean abandoning your principles or compromising your conscience. |

Nairaland General › Why Gift Card Rates Differ From One Buyer To Another by Maestroxau(op): 6:40am On Nov 02 |
Keywords: gift card rates Nigeria, gift card exchange rate
One question people often ask is why a gift card does not always sell for its full face value.
The resale rate can depend on the brand, country, currency, denomination, demand and whether the card can be verified.
A $100 card does not automatically mean a buyer will pay $100 in cash. Before accepting any quote, ask for the actual amount you will receive and whether any fees apply.
Compare clear offers rather than choosing a buyer based only on the highest advertised rate.

Which Gift Cards Are Most Useful to People Outside Their Country?
Keywords: international gift cards, US gift cards Nigeria
Gift cards can be useful, but their restrictions sometimes make them difficult to use when the recipient lives in another country.
Some cards are limited to a particular region or retailer, and a card purchased in one country may not work in another.
Before buying or accepting a gift card, always read the issuer's terms and confirm the supported region.
For anyone who already has a card they cannot use, reselling may be an option if the card is eligible and a legitimate buyer is available.

A gift card is a prepaid card or digital code that can be used to purchase eligible products or services from a particular retailer or platform.
Some are physical cards, while others are delivered electronically. Depending on the issuer, a gift card may be restricted by country, currency or store. This is why two cards with the same dollar value may not have the same resale value.
If you have a gift card you do not need, check the issuer, region, balance and expiry terms before looking for a buyer.

…urges Nigerians to optimise phone settings to curb data use
MTN Nigeria said video streaming, automatic downloads and social media use contributed to rapid data consumption, urging Nigerians to optimise phone settings to curb quick exhaustion.
Mike Ndukwe, general manager, Network Performance and Quality Assurance at MTN Nigeria, said a 15-second TikTok video could consume between two megabytes (MB) and 20MB, depending on its resolution.
According to Ndukwe, the same video could consume about two to three megabytes in standard definition, compared with up to 15MB or more in high definition, depending on the content and settings.
“The request itself uses less than one MB. Where data is used is when TikTok delivers the video to you, and it actually depends on the resolution of the video,” he said.
He said 4G and 5G networks enabled higher-resolution video streaming, which could increase data consumption when applications automatically selected higher picture quality.
Ndukwe advised subscribers to enable data-saving features, reduce video resolution and disable automatic playback where possible.
He also identified WhatsApp group chats, status updates, automatic media downloads and chat backups as sources of data consumption.
According to him, media files shared in multiple WhatsApp groups could consume data when they downloaded automatically, even if subscribers did not deliberately open them.
He advised users to disable automatic media downloads, restrict background data usage and configure applications to download large files only when connected to Wi-Fi.
MTN provides data-usage information and alerts through its MyMTN application to help subscribers monitor their consumption, Ndukwe said.
He added that the company offered MTN FiberX as an unlimited data option for customers with high data requirements, subject to applicable terms and conditions.
Peter Akpatason, chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Communications, said the initiative would help consumers understand data consumption and address misconceptions about the telecommunications industry.
Akpatason acknowledged the investment required to operate telecommunications networks but said further investment was needed to improve service quality.
Ndukwe said data depletion generally resulted from users’ online activities or phone settings.
We’re not stealing your data. However, we completely understand how it feels, especially right now, where every naira counts. But the honest answer is that data is not taken without an action, either your action or your phone,” he said.
We spent N4.05trn on power in 2025 – MTN CEO
MTN Nigeria says it spent about N4.05 trillion on power alone in 2025, citing electricity and infrastructure costs as factors affecting telecommunications operations, as it urged subscribers to optimise their phone settings to reduce data consumption.
Karl Toriola, chief executive officer of MTN Nigeria, said operators incurred costs providing electricity, transportation and other infrastructure needed to maintain telecommunications sites.
Speaking at the company’s Data on Trial event in Abuja on Monday, Toriola said these costs should be considered in discussions about data prices in Nigeria compared with other countries.
“In this country, as well as some other African countries, we are providing power and transportation to all of our sites. The cost of electricity, for instance, is higher here than in the UK,” he said.
He said Nigerian operators used telecommunications equipment and technologies similar to those deployed in Europe and the United States, including fourth-generation (4G) and fifth-generation (5G) networks.
Toriola said the event was designed to help consumers understand how phone settings, online activities and application preferences affected data consumption. |

Things to Know Before Selling Your Gift Cards for Cash
Many people receive gift cards they don't need or buy gift cards for transactions, only to find out later that they would rather have the cash.
The good thing is that unused gift cards can be sold, but there are a few things you should know before trading yours.
1. Check the card type: Different gift cards have different rates. Amazon, Apple, Google Play, Steam and other cards may not have the same value.
2. Know the card's currency and amount: A $100 card, for example, doesn't necessarily mean you will receive the equivalent of $100 in naira. The rate depends on the card type and current market conditions.
3. Deal with someone reliable: Don't send your card details to just anybody because they promise a high rate. Confirm the buyer's credibility and agree on the rate before proceeding.
4. Cryptocurrency also requires caution: If you want to sell BTC, USDT, ETH or other supported coins, always confirm the wallet address and transaction details before sending.
