Got this hp 1030 G6 from a customer with the display working but back-light not working.

After observing the system, I discovered the screen is showing some characters, then I disassemble the system.

After opening the PC, I remove the screen cable and immediately I discovered a burnt issue at the screen connector.

With experience and expertise, I tracked down the burnt area and fix the motherboard in a jiffy.

Laptop name: Hp 840 G5
Problem: Laptop not turning on, only blinking caplock 7 times.

Solution:

1. Tested the Laptop with DC supply and it shows 0.014 - 0.007 milli-amps.

2. According to customer, the force-off while bios was updating its firmware. This brick the Laptop firmware and it stop coming up.

3. Straitaway, I removed the bios from the mobo and I reprogrammed another file on the chips.

4. Mounted the chips on the mobo and the system comes up after several boot loops.

5. The system updated the new bios and it's now working 💪 perfectly.

‎Laptop Name: Dell vostro 15-3568

‎Problem: Got this Dell PC with an administrator password. Which hindered access to the user's files and data.

‎Solution:
1. I disassemble the PC and found the SPI chips.
2. Get another bios firmware without bios and program it.
3. After reprogramming the firmware chips, I mount it on the board and Solder it back.
4. I power on the system and the password successfully remove.
5. Check the picture below. Laptop Now working perfectly without password hindrance.

Problem: Dead Condition

Solution:
1. Tested the Laptop with charger but not coming up.
2. Dissemble the laptop and I begin to test the motherboard.

3. With Multimeter, I detected the 19v power rail is actually active, but the power IC section is not active.

4. Therefore, the charging light indicator couldn't receive volt.

5. Inspected the mobo carefully and I discovered corrosion on the mobo.
6. Through that I detected there is a shorted caps.

7. Remove and replaced the caps, and the problem was solved.

Laptop name: Sony f series- vpcf217hg
Problem: Laptop not turning on after pressing switch

The customer reported the system is not coming up at all.

1. I inserted my charger and I detected the issue not from the charger but from the system motherboard itself.
2. Disassemble the PC and I detected the laptop receive the 19v from charging port and it flow through the first mosfet.
3. Through inspection, I detected the second FET didn't cross.
4. With Multimeter I discovered the motherboard is shorted but the diode value on the meter shows - 0.145 - abnormal value.
5. Push in volt at the current sense resistor, detected the faulty caps and I replaced it.

6. Tested the Laptop and it's now working fine.

Laptop name: HP 840 G1

Problem: laptop trip off instantly when you press the power button or insert charger.

Solution: Kbc_pwr_on, not coming from Sio. It absence leads to the tripping off. Then I check the DC/DC section.
After observing the schematic, I detected the fault and correct the abnormalities.

System now working perfectly.

Laptop name: HP 820 G2
Problem: No power, dead condition.

Solution: Discovered the DCIN section is not switching. Grabbed my multimeter and through this I realize there's a shorting.
I injected voltage on the main power rail and got the culprit that caused the short.

Add one: changed the faulty components and I clean the water caused corrosion.
System now working perfectly.

Laptop Name: Dell vostro 3550

Fault: Dell laptop Not powering up solution

Solution: Got this Dell without any sign of life. after checking the voltage rail, 19v and the power section is active.
I checked the power switch and 3.3v is present on its pin.
I then resort to flashing the bios file. After reprogramming the bios, Boom 💥, the system responded and it's now working.

‎Problem: System not powering on - Dead

‎Solution: Inserted charger and I detected that the DCIN section is not working at all. I then start to troubleshoot the system in order to get the problem resolved but all to no avail.

‎After a while, I walk through the schematic and I discovered the system is using an ISL charging IC, with new generation DCIN architecture.
‎
‎Grabbed my multimeter and I start reading the DCIN section. During this process, I discovered that the first two mosfet get voltage but the gate is not active.
‎I then substitute to reading the charging IC pin, instantly, I detected that the charging Volt-in pin 19 isn't working. After some examination, discovered a shorted caps replaced it and problem was solved.
