You simply need to contact Afternic support that you'd like to be able to receive your payouts via ACH and that you have a US account in your name for that purpose. If you like, you may also explain the challenges (high fees et al) you're having with your current payout method - this may not be necessary sha but I did back then.

You can see in the attached screenshot an excerpt from my conversation with support back in 2021. Before then, I had set my payment option for Afternic to hold on to two small payments I was expecting so I could find a way to escape paying the outrageous wire transfer fee. smiley
Thank you, chief

Seeing how much people are being charged for receiving money from Afternic to Grey GBP account, I can't help but wonder if Afternic policy has changed.
Thanks for this. Can you outline how one goes about this?

The thing is you are not addressing the issue with the remorse that it's worth....

If this thing is an offline business in Nigeria he can sue you and you will pay...

It is a civil wrong called "Promissory Estoppel" in Law....

Ask any lawyer you know....

And na the guy man wey you dey claim on top go make the Judge high your fine well well.

Remorse? Chief, I have apologised severally. I have offered to compensate him. Different people have come up with ways on how I should compensate him. I have asked him how he wants to be compensated. I honestly dont know what else you want. You want me to cry or what?

Brother, at this point you can join PriceActionZ in suing me. I am legit tired at this point. I have done more explanation than the guy who brought the whole thing here in the first place.

bro so far you know you still wish to keep this domain, even for an extra one year renewal, you shouldn't have sent it to him. Truly outbounding is time consuming aside data burning. Hunting for emails na small thing? In short he inspired you to renew this domain. But I saw you've apologized. Compensate him any way you can. Peace.

Boss, I understand all you have said and I appreciate your feedback. Once again, I accept my fault in all this.

Just to clear the renewal part, I already stated what made me renew the domain. He did not inspire me to renew the domain. The domain was renewed BEFORE he got an email offer from the buyer which I was never aware about.

I believe this is what most people are misunderstanding and what is making the whole issue escalate. It's not like I knew about the offer then went ahead to renew the domain (he can confirm this).

For the compensation, different people have come up with how he should be compensated. I have also asked how he would love to be compensated. He is yet to respond to that.

Once again, thanks for your input boss. I really appreciate.

@nkeona, you said the other domain is a nice one. I can push to you if you want. If you prefer money for data, let me know. I am genuinely tired of the back and forth. Let's resolve this, chief.

Boss someone that didn't reply my last mail and went mute reason I came here. I was angry at that moment because I put in the work and saw result and he just threw it off like it's nothing. I have moved on. Thank you.
Chief, I didn't reply your email because you were a bit rude. I was polite with you all through until you told me to bleep off. That aside, what do you want? Still interested in outbounding or you want data?

Modified: Anyone who hears your part of the story without hearing mine will think the worst of me. What was the first thing I did after telling you I had renewed the domain? I apologised and asked if you were still interested. I never discarded your efforts. You were the one who told me to bleep off which I found rude cos the whole issue was simply a miscommunication problem that could have been resolved.

I am saying this again, if you are abroad, you can get your as.s. sued heavily for breaching an agreement. Oya tell me again, you didn't breach any agreement? Grow up, and stop acting half clever. I know what am I saying. You are too clever in your judgement, but very silly to act as if you don't know what to do. Now saying he should tell you what he wants after many people have suggested best way to resolve this. Common. Can you imagine? This shows how risky it is to do business with you. One thing you dont know is that this particular insincerity will open many doors for the guy while people won't trust you. Keep dragging it openly, instead for you to resolve it privately. Bye, am not replying you again. Do anything you feel that will satisfy your ego like a boss you think you are.
If you seriously think I care about your opinion about me then you must be overrating yourself or spending so much time on the internet. And yes, it is RISKY doing business with me and NO ONE should also trust me. Are you happy now?

For the records, I have done business with people on this thread and other sections. I have never been called out or had any reason to call anyone out. If I could not be trusted or it was risky doing business with me like you said, I am sure these people would have called me out a long time ago.

"Bye, am not replying you again. Do anything you feel that will satisfy your ego like a boss you think you are." Lol, emotional crap. How old are you, chief?

@mahvie Compensate him, stop story man, that's the point of all these backlashes, but you don't want to do that, for the best reasons known to you because you are trying to play smart. I don't want to believe that you are new to this business, and you should respect yourself for that because of your integrity.
Let him state what he wants.

Modified: I just went through your post now and saw you are the same person that said this "... i know the guy saw the offer on his Dashboard and quickly renew." And you also talked about me "Paying Heavily". You had no complete idea what happened but you were quick to jump into conclusions trying to escalate the whole issue. Honestly, you should keep quiet, man.

This is genuinely crazy. The past few days have been the most I have ever typed on nairaland. I have never typed so much or so frequently before. I hate unnecessary stress. Once again, I totally accept my fault and apologise to nkeona. We were supposed to have a long term engagement but this issue ruined everything. I still think it is something we could have resolved before it got to all this but it is all good. And also apologies to everyone for derailing the thread a bit. Wish everyone a blessed week filled with sales.

I feel your pains sir. That snake guy suppose compensate you with at least something or even register a name for you.

I don't know for you, but if na me, once I sense that he's trying to play smart, I go ruin that sell ASAP.

How you may ask? by just simply changing my outbound letter to something like the below and resend to the leads.

Hello, Don't worry about getting the domain name (domain name . com) again. My email account was hacked.

It's not for sale. It was all a SCAM."

And see what happens. Just what I'd do o.

Cunny man die, cunny man bury am.
This is so funny. I read the first paragraph and smiled. Then I read to the end and just started laughing. What you typed just shows you don't know everything that happened.

As I said before, I was not aware of an offer (he can confirm this). He only sent me an email of a buyer saying he will pay $100 ( Asking price was $200) AFTER I had renewed the domain and increased the price back to what it was before.

Ruin sell? What sell, man? I think this where most people are getting it wrong. There is NO SELL anywhere. I don't know why this is difficult to understand. I don't have any contact with the supposed buyer. I didn't even know a buyer existed .

The buyer made an offer to him nkeona through his email so he is the one in contact with the buyer. So I am confused how you want to ruin a sale that isn't mine in the first place? Like I said you are too emotional. Anyone who read all that happened with a clear mind will definitely understand everything.

For the part about changing outbound letter and saying the domain isn't available and it's all a scam. Well, he can tell the buyer whatever he wants, I am not bothered. I don't have the buyer's contact, the buyer never contacted me so there is nothing I can do about that. I genuinely don't see how you saying the domain is a scam and your email was hacked affects me.

Like I mentioned, I have previously outbounded the life out of that domain and gotten offers highest which was $300. I already explained my reasons for renewing the domain which you would have seen if you had calm down and followed up on the whole matter.

Try to read up and understand everything, man. Don't just read a particular part, interpret it how you want then start reacting emotionally. Wish you all the best, man.

Why is always risky and discouraging to do businesses with faceless Nigerians online? Why many naija online business people always playing half clever and half smart? gush... i know the guy saw the offer on his Dashboard and quickly renew. Compensate the guy even if it is 10k and move on instead of proving half smart. We are not babies here. Try this in advanced country and you will pay heavily for it.
I saw the offer on my dashboard? You are funny. The way you guys say rubbish with confidence is amazing, honestly. Just to be clear, I did not receive any offer on my dashboard. I wasn't even aware there was an offer on ground. He only mentioned the offer after I told him I renewed the domain. Pay heavily? You are too emotional.

[i] But the bolded wasn't part of the initial agreement.

To be honest, what you did can be said to be Bait and Switch which is an undesirable practice in the business world. Since you reached out to him first, you should have thought about it deeply before asking him the go ahead.

I understand that priorities change and you have the right to retain your domain, however, you just wasted his efforts, time, and data with nothing in return. And yes, just SORRY is not ideal in this situation since he's doing this for money.

To put this issue to bed, both parties can agree on any of these recommendations:

1. Compensate him monetarily for his time, data, efforts, and emotions invested

2. Gift him another name that's near expiry (his initial request)

3. Make a commitment to offer him a percentage of the profit if the contested domain eventually sell in future

4. Offer him more domains to work on to increase a chance of sale, so you can reward him afterwards

I totally accept my fault in all this which was why the first thing I did immediately after telling him to stop outbounding was issue an apology. I apologised to him. As for resolution, it's up to him. I already mentioned it to him that I have several domains that he can outbound. If he is still interested, he should let me know. I hate unnecessary drama.

you used him for the fact that you didn't state the fact you'll only consider $300 offer and above, you supplied him only domain expiring in few days which logically means you're liquidating them for any possible offer now two offer was received according to the guy that's when you make the decision to renew because you're now more confident about the domain, why didn't you renew other domain you gave him that hasn't received an offer yet, your action is what called trying to play smart take it or leave it!!!!!
Boss I admire your confidence in saying nonsense without having an understanding of the whole matter, to be honest. You are just making assumptions, boldly.

Firstly, the domain was priced high even with few days remaining to expiration. He can bear witness to this. I intentionally left the price high because of the previous offers I had received on the domain. He suggested I reduce it which I did.

About 24hrs later, I was going through my domains at dynadot and changed my mind. I decided to renew the domain and increase the price back. (Note: I was not aware of any offer from him. He didn't tell me anything).

Immediately after renewing the domain and increasing the price, I sent an email to him to stop outbounding. He was angry which is quite understandable. I apologised and ask if he was still interested and he told me to Bleep off and all that. He only made mention of an $100 offer after I had renewed the domain and increase the price.

As for the reason I chose to renew this particular domain. Like I said, I left the price high even with few days to expiration intentionally. I was considering renewing it but wasn't 100% sure. A part of me wanted to drop it while another part felt like I should renew it that the previous buyer who offered $300 and ghosted might be waiting for it to drop. I was on the fence on this until I was going through my dynadot list and saw that dynadot valued it at $4558. I checked Godaddy and also saw it was valued at $1419.

Ordinarily, I don't care much about valuations but when I took into account that the domain has also received some offers in the past, I decided to give it another shot and renew it.

I 100% accept my fault in all this. This is something that we could have resolved between eachother but he was more focused on "dragging" me.
I hope this explanation helps?

Mahvie, are you willing to sell the domain for one of the offer amounts?
No, I wouldn't. Like I mentioned in my chats with him, I have outbounded this particular domain so much and the highest offer I got was 300 which I countered 400 and the buyer ghosted. If his buyer is willing to pay 300, then I can let it go for that amount otherwise it makes no sense to me.

You had funds to renew the name and you can't even compensate him for his data and time spent?

How will you feel If you were the one they did this to?

Let's be reasonable atimes.

Wouldn't be an issue if we had an agreement on that. Our agreement was a 50-50 split if a domain is sold. That is more than fair, if you ask me. Try to be reasonable and understand all facts before jumping in, man.

Sacking xavi is the best decision Barcelona has made in years.
This is the first time a club will be signing a new coach and opposition teams are already afraid.

I have always said this that we have one of the most dangerous squad in the world but what we lack is a good coach.
I see flick staying in this club for many many years, you might think i am kidding but kid will do to Spanish league the way Manchester City has done to the premier league and he will get Barcelona several uefa champions league trophies back to back and back to back and back to back.
I said it few weeks ago that the reign of Madrid in Spain and Europe is over and Barcelona with this squad will soon take over and i ain't even capping, this is not over confidence, i am telling you that Barcelona is back and Europe about to feel the rise of the catalan Tigers.

When i said that mbappe won't win the balloon d'or and laliga and uefa champions league even if he goes to Madrid and stay for 6 years, this is what i am talking about,
This season's laliga is the last madrid will win in Atleast 6 years from now.
