Foreign Affairs › Re: Nigerians Among Over 140 Injured After Missile Strike On UAE by maidstone: 12:13pm On Mar 17 |
Brendaniel: I've refused to talk about this war for certain reasons, but there is something I have noticed which a lot of people have taken to be normal in this war which is:
It looks like most people(especially Iranian supporters) have taken it to be normal for Iran to attack civilians and civilian facilities of other countries while it is an atrocity for other countries to the same to it.
For instance, this is UAE, over 140 civilians were injured, no one says anything, the Iranian supporters will come here to cheer it as victory with justification, where these people in any military facility ? No!
Now reverse the same scenario for Iran and watch most people scream of injustice especially Iranian supporters.
I've refused to involve my discussion in this war but this is getting very obvious. You must be mad 180 school girls in Iran nko? Who in the first place started this unnecessary war? |

agemmy113: The permanent chairman of the old Oyo State Council of Obas before Osun State was created was the Ooni of Ife. Specifically, this position was held by Oba Okunade Sijuwade (the 50th Ooni of Ife) from 1980 until Osun State’s creation in August 1991.
📜 Historical Background
· In 1976, the military administrator of Oyo State, Major General David Jemibewon, issued a decree that made the Ooni of Ife the permanent chairman of the old Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs. · The first Ooni to hold this position under the decree was Oba Adesoji Aderemi (the 49th Ooni). After his death, he was succeeded by Oba Okunade Sijuwade, who was installed as Ooni in December 1980 and continued as permanent chairman of the council. · Oba Sijuwade remained the permanent chairman until August 1991, when Osun State was carved out of the old Oyo State.
🔍 Key Points
· The role was exclusive to the Ooni of Ife due to the 1976 decree, which sparked a long-standing leadership tussle with other prominent Yoruba monarchs, such as the Alaafin of Oyo. · After the creation of Osun State, the Ooni of Ife became the permanent chairman of the Osun State Council of Obas and Chiefs, while the old Oyo State council (now covering the reduced Oyo State) later adopted a rotational chairmanship system.
Therefore, the permanent chairman of the old Oyo State Council of Obas before Osun State was created was Oba Okunade Sijuwade, the Ooni of Ife. A big lie Alaafin and Ooni were bith permanent chairmen of traditional rulers in Old oyo state before 1992 |

chopnaira: Like the popular saying goes: What goes around comes around.
Before Osun state was carved out of Old Oyo state, Ooni Sijuade was the permanent chairman of the Old Oyo state council of traditional rulers. The late Alaafin Adeyemi fought Ooni Sijuade all through till the military government created Osun state in 1992.
The Olubadan and the Soun are now doing the same to the Alaafin. However, unlike Alaafin Adeyemi that was not successful in his bid to start a rotation in Old Oyo state, the Soun and Olubadan suceeded at it in the new Oyo state. Post the link to this rubbish |

EvilMerodack: Its actually 8hours and some of us work 9-5 for real Not 8-5
But i get it. in the past, I always wandered why they started the counting from 9am, when in reality, most Nigerian offices resume at 8am. I see say na just copy copy language. Na 8-5 be the common one for 9ja Many Nigerians are ignorant of many things 9-5 is simply a British English. A British slang. It originated in Britain. It connotes the typical office work In Britain, they basically work from 9am to 5pm, because of the weather there, hence the term. It's just a slang that became a word and made it into the dictionary |

The Alaafin needs to raise a strong social media team.
Media is everything now. The Alaafin is losing the narrative on social media. He needs a strong social media army with at least 100 boys and girls.
He also needs a lot of money. To be influential as a king in this age and time, you need billions of Naira |

Imagine waking up to discover your phone shows "No Service." Moments later, you receive a message from your bank about a suspicious transaction — but you can't log into your banking app. Panic sets in. You've just become the latest victim of SIM swap fraud, and your hard-earned money might already be gone. Another rubbish from you. How is it possible to receive a message from your bank "moments later" when your phone number has been swapped by another person? Rubbish! |

And 2. The Oyo king is not the head of yoruba. Ife existed before oyo. The Benin monarchy and all other monarchy in the south respect the ooni, olofin, oghene e.t.c more than the Alaafin. Who is actually a junior king to many earlier kingdoms like ife, owu, Benin e.t.c
Those clowns or Oyo supremacist will say stuff like the ooni being a chief priest. Oranmiyan, the founder of Oyo became an ooni at ife. Was prince and later king iranmiyan a chief priest too. Ask them that question, and you will see them dissappear like cockroaches. Rubbish! You said nothing intelligent Nonsense |
