I am sure a lot of deligent pple are leveraging on LAPO loans to push their businesses further, but you see those ones shouting here and there, ask many of them how they used the funds and you will be surprised as to what and how they expended it.

AnonPoet:
The Founder of LAPO Microfinance Bank, one of Nigeria's award-winning microfinance banks, Dr Godwin Ehigiamusoe (Ph.D) has advocated using the TIET business model for young entrepreneurs when making their choice of business, to ensure success in Nigeria's tough business climate.

In a new video in his Entrepreneurship series geared towards educating the next generation of entrepreneurs, the finance guru spoke about how the TIET model can be used for lasting success in business, and also dwells on other topics including passion and profit.

TIET stands for Training, Interest, Experience and Temperament and Dr Ehigiamusoe dwells on how to use these four human skills to build sustainable enterprises.

Most Nigerian see easily accessible loans as an easy way out especially when it made less formal for micro-businesses to be able to easily access them., forgetting that the consequences of defaulting is the same.

post=98688127:
.......and is that supposed to be their fault?!
Borrow loans for business and pay it back.
Simple!
Nigerians and their 'dem don kill me finish ooo' mentality sef.

Agreement is Agreement.

You said you needed money/capital for business,
Someone borrowed you the money with a percentage and agreement of when you will pay back, and they never forced you to go ahead with the loans.
You said okay, you agreed.
So what is the problem here?

Later, we go dey hear from una say na d red curtain wey dey one of dem office or the black pen dem dey use in dere offices no let people wey borrow from dem succeed.
Nothing wey person no fit hear for dis our darling country.

Nairaland GeneralThe Annual ACBF Went Virtual This Year, Thanks Participants And Sponsors by Mainblockent(op): 11:37am On Nov 05, 2020
Thank You for making the first virtual Akada Children's Book Festival a success.
In light of the Covid 19 pandemic and the restrictions that came along to reduce the spread, the annual Akada Children’s Book Festival which was first initiated in 2019 had to go virtual this year.
The ACBF is an annual event that brings together children’s book authors, illustrators, parents, teachers as well as key stakeholders in children’s literature and education to promote reading culture, dispense knowledge, showcase authors of various children’s books, and inspire future authors even among children.

Presently, ACBF is the first and biggest children’s book festival in Nigeria and this year it was able to expand its reach to the international audience by going virtual. The event which kick-started with the professional workshop sessions on the 30th of October 2020 had over 15 professionals facilitate different topics while the free family fun day was slated for the next day 31st October. The festival was streamed live on major internet streaming platforms and had live updates captivated on social media platforms.
It was a fun, exciting and very educative experience as the event had something for kids, parents, aspiring authors and illustrators as well as audiences connected live from their location to enjoy the various sessions at the festival. Some highlights during the event included: book reading by various authors, GiggleBox which was hosted by Chilgul, reading along, singing along, and dancing along, mini-workshops, information sessions for parents, pop quizzes, comedy for children, and happy tunes.
The convener of the event, Olubunmi Aboderin Talabi as well as many notable partners and facilitators of the event had no holding back as they gave insightful teachings to groom and inspire participants of the event.
The audience had the opportunity to take part in the online event by streaming the event right on the ACBF’S website, the @akadafestival YouTube Channel, and the @cleverclogsbook Facebook page and it was indeed worth every single moment.
At the end of the festival, a winner emerged from the five finalists of the ACBF Children’s Illustration Competition which was themed: Light Up The World, Share A Story.
The organizers of the event attribute the success of the festival to the wonderful ACBF team, the partners, and the sponsors, citing Clout Studios, Flutterwave and NLNG amongst others.

Lagos, October 30th, 2020: The CEO of TVC Communications; owners of TVC, TVC News, Max FM (Lagos & Abuja) & Adaba FM Andrew Hanlon has stated today, 30th October, 2020 that the jobs of all its 550 employees are safe and secure.

Mr. Andrew Hanlon made the announcement on foot of ‘misleading reports’ which suggested that 250 jobs were lost following an arson attack on its studios in Ikosi-Ketu, Lagos last week.

He said ‘the reference to 250 jobs related to those of our employees who had been physically displaced due to the fire at our premises, this does not mean those same employees had subsequently lost their jobs due to the fire. All of our staff remain with us, and have merely now been relocated to temporary offices while we build a bigger and better television studio complex’

Press Statement

Lagos, October 24th, 2020: At 3am this morning (Saturday 24th Oct 2020) our international channel, TVC News, returned to the airwaves of Nigeria and the world following an arson attack on our broadcast compound at Ikosi-Ketu, Lagos, on Wednesday morning October 21st at approximately 9am.

Several of our staff were injured in the attack by a large mop who stormed the grounds wielding machetes, knives and petrol bombs which were used to torch dozens of vehicles and the main broadcast building which housed the studios and production offices of TVC News and our entertainment channel TVC.

It is with Gods grace that the ensuing inferno did not result in the loss of life or serious injury, it did however utterly destroy our state-of-the-art television studios, control rooms and production offices which house hundreds of our Nigerian staff, including journalists, producers and technicians.

TVC Communications, which owns and operates our TV and radio stations, including Max FM and Adaba FM, condemns this senseless attack on a company which endeavors merely to disseminate unbiased and balanced news, information and entertainment programmes to Nigerian audiences at home and abroad, and which supports the livelihoods of 550 full-time employees and thousands more indirectly.

The devastation caused to our property could have destroyed all those jobs and left many of our dear employees destitute and penniless. Thankfully however, as a successfully managed commercial enterprise which enjoys the support of advertisers and commercial sponsors, we are fortunate to have the resources to maintain full employment and to rebuild our business.

We trust the agencies of the Federal Republic of Nigeria will bring those responsible for the billions of naira of damage caused to our business to justice and that all necessary steps will be taken to protect our employees and property going forward.

TVC Communications and our broadcasting stations fully support the peaceful and democratic aims and objectives of the #EndSars movement and we will continue to provide balanced news coverage going forward.

Today marks the beginning of a new chapter in our history as one of Nigeria’s largest broadcasting and media companies. I wish to pay tribute to our staff who have suffered physically and emotionally from the terrifying events of the past days. You are strong, resilient, caring and loyal and we shall never forget your support and dedication to our great company.

I also wish to thank our advertisers and sponsors who have stood by us in our greatest hour of crisis and need. We shall never forget your loyalty to the business. And finally we thank our audience of 11 million viewers and listeners who are tuning back to us in their droves. Without you we have nothing.

We are humbled and will be eternally grateful for the love and support of all and we will emerge from this greater, stronger and better than ever.

God Bless Nigeria.

Signed:
Andrew Hanlon.

CelebritiesLilian Esoro Dishes Out Advice On 'success' by Mainblockent(op):
The actress and mother of one recently revealed that being successful simply requires an individual to double their failures, because it is in the failures and mistakes you find success. There really isn't any stopping for the 'Give them Hot Hot' crooner as she dazzles in a beautiful black cleavage revealing dress.

She said;

"I was having a discussion the other day, and somehow we got talking about success and how to sustain and handle certain situations. And I said there really isn’t any formula for success! It’s quite simple, really: Double your rate of failure. They go huh? I’m like that’s the problem.... You are thinking of failure as the enemy of success. But it isn’t at all. See failures as a blessing in disguise, a lesson you learn n grow from. It’s your decision at the end of the day. You can be discouraged by failure or you can learn from it, so go ahead and make mistakes. Make all you can. Because remember it’s in the failures and mistakes you find success.
