Yeah..that's exactly what I intend to do. Arm myself with all the necessary docs and sufficient cash, then hope and pray for favour.

My sister i would advice you to follow your heart and make the trip.most of on this forum are not experts on these matters neither do we work with cbp,so we dont know it all, we just advice based on experience,it would have been better if you had told the vo you were pregnant when they asked, but as you said you were not even sure then yourself I would advice you to be fully prepared (enough cash at poe, doctors corespondence etc) I have heard of people with similar stories that were successful and also others that were turned back too, Just be truthful and prayerful

Based on what you wrote, two things can happen: Turn you back at POE or cancel your visa if you send the letter of notification. It's best you use it for the first reason you applied the visa for which was vacation before child birth
@ Flowers hmmmmmm ...I really really wish I could travel 1st for vacation but it just won't be possible again. ..I'm aware of this 2 possibilities. . Was just hoping for an alternative. .All the same we'll brave it and hope for the best, with plenty prayers too..Luckily our POE will be New york ( heard it's not soo tough there)
Thanks a lot.

@greenkamsy Thanks for ur response, d intention at the time of application was for vacation purposes and to be very sincere our decision to have d baby was an after thought after we had gotten our visas...at the time of application we didn't even think of having a baby there and yes I suspected I was pregnant but I didn't feel the need to give a straight forward answer since 1, It wasn't Confirmed and 2, at the time of visa interview, birthing in d states hadn't even crossed our minds.. Anyway travelling for vacation now is not even an option now cos of d extra expense and some other logistics....but thanks anyway for the suggestion I think we will just arm ourselves with all d supporting evidence that we can and hope for the best at POE.

NB: rembr I said I'm all up for the letter to d embassy option as I feel it's d safest option going by what I've been reading here.. it's just hubby that is sceptical and I can't force him... so I wouldn't Intentionally "destroy bridges for others to pass"

quote author=greenkamsy post=30370788]@mamaomas,
If u can, why don't u use your visa for the purpose of which u got It? I mean, u can travel even without hubby maybe in march/april for vacation which may nt exceed 1week. I think we should thread carefully as has been emphasized here times without number. Let us nt destroy the bridge for other people to pass. Sorry for judging u Buh I feel u knew u were pregnant but hid it from d VO. Madam, biko, if u av d means, go for vacation 1st. Tnx.
Hello People, great forum here! Been following this thread for about 2 weeks and my brain is saturated with all kinds of info (very relevant though). I have gotten answers to a lot of questions just by going thru this thread but I still need more clarification on some issues.
Now 2 my questions... I have a valid US Visa which I obtained in November, was a few weeks pregnant at the time which I was unaware of (suspected though). VO asked if I was and my response was 'not to my knowledge".
Our intention (hubby n i) was to go on vacation in November but I had a terrible early preggy experience so I couldn't make it.
We have now decided that I have d baby in the states and I understand from my reading this forum that I can send a letter to the embassy and state my change in travel plans (ie using the visa for birthing purposes).
I have read here abt people that have similar issues and have written to the embassy and gotten the standard response.
Now my husband for some reason does not buy the idea as he claims he knows of about 2 people that got thier visa cancelled after notifying the embassy, he is of the opinion that if we have all d necessary correspondence from d hospital and with strong financial evidence/burden of proof that we can foot our medical bills then we should be fine when we get to any POE.
I've tried persuading him but he is really sceptical about sending the letter..
Abeg my good people advise me.... do I have any other options?
