Islam › Re: 10 Punishments For Disbelievers In Jahannam (hell)! by Manincharge: 7:55pm On Aug 31 |
Religion is a very useless practice. Rashduct4luv: In Islam, Jahannam (Hell) is described as the place of severe punishment for disbelievers and evildoers in the Hereafter. The Qur’an and Sunnah provide vivid descriptions of the torment and consequences awaiting those who reject faith and persist in wrongdoing. Here are some of the key punishments and "rewards" (in the sense of consequences) for disbelievers in Jahannam:
1. Intense and Everlasting Fire The blazing fire of Jahannam burns continuously, consuming the skin and flesh without relief. “Indeed, those who disbelieve will be in the punishment of Hell, abiding eternally.” (Qur’an 2:39)
2, Boiling Water to Drink Disbelievers will be given scalding water that tears apart their intestines and causes unbearable pain. “They will be given boiling water to drink that will sever their intestines.” (Qur’an 47:15)
3. Chains, Shackles, and Burning Garments They will be bound with heavy chains and wear garments made of fire, intensifying their torment. They will wear garments of fire, boiling water will be poured over their heads.” (Qur’an 22:19-20)
4. Eating from the Tree of Zaqqum The bitter fruit of the cursed tree Zaqqum is the food of the sinful in Hell, causing further suffering. Indeed, the tree of Zaqqum is food for the sinful.” (Qur’an 37:62-68)
5. Scorching Wind and Shadow of Black Smoke Hell is surrounded by a scorching wind and a dark, suffocating smoke that adds to the punishment. A scorching wind and scalding water.” (Qur’an 56:42-43)
6. Darkness and Confinement The inhabitants of Hell will be in utter darkness and confined spaces, increasing their fear and despair. They will dwell amid scorching wind and scalding water in the shadow of black smoke, neither cool nor beneficial.” (Qur’an 56:42-44)
7. Continuous Renewal of Punishment The torment in Hell is renewed repeatedly, with no respite or end for disbelievers. Every time they want to get out of it, they will be returned to it, and it will be said, ‘Taste the punishment of the Fire which you used to deny.’” (Qur’an 6:128)
8. Eternal Separation from Allah’s Mercy The greatest punishment is being cut off from Allah’s mercy and presence forever. The Prophet ﷺ said: “The worst people in the sight of Allah on the Day of Resurrection will be the double-faced people...” (Muslim)
9. Regret and Despair The disbelievers will experience intense regret and hopelessness, wishing they could return to life to do good. They will say, ‘Our Lord, remove us from it, and if we were to return [to life], we would do righteousness.’” (Qur’an 23:108)
10. Physical and Spiritual Torment Both the body and soul of the disbelievers suffer in Jahannam, with pain and punishment beyond human comprehension. Indeed, those who disbelieve in Our verses – We will drive them into a Fire. Every time their skins are roasted through, We will replace them with other skins so they may taste the punishment.” (Qur’an 4:56)
These descriptions of Jahannam serve as a powerful warning to disbelievers and sinners, emphasizing the severe and eternal consequences of rejecting faith and committing evil. The punishments are both physical and spiritual, continuous and intense, designed to deter people from wrongdoing and encourage turning to Allah’s mercy. We ask Allah to protect us from Jahannam entirely. |

Politics › Re: 2027: ‘if You Want To Lead Nigeria, Your Past Must Be Clear’ — ACF by Manincharge: 1:32pm On Aug 25 |
yes, because change doesn't exist?abi. Tell me who in Nigeria that doesn't have a shady past? useless arewa! iwaeda: The Arewa Consultative Forum, ACF, has said politicians seeking to lead Nigeria in the 2027 general elections must be prepared to account for their past, insisting that Nigerians have the right to scrutinise their educational background, antecedents and integrity.
Publicity Secretary of the ACF, Prof. Tukur Baba, stated this while speaking on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Tuesday, stressing that the debate over candidates’ academic qualifications should go beyond the mere presentation of certificates to focus on the credibility, consistency and transparency of their personal histories.
Baba said: “If you are presenting yourself for election to the highest office in Nigeria, holding lives together, being the Commander-in-Chief, it is legitimate to ask questions.”
According to him, Nigerians are entitled to know the history of those seeking their votes, adding that leadership requires transparency and accountability.
“The certificate is not as important as the story itself. It has to be straight. It has to be consistent. If it is not, there is a problem,” he said.
Baba, who acknowledged that the 1999 Constitution does not specifically require presidential candidates to present documentary evidence of every stage of their education, said the issue should nevertheless not be dismissed.
“The law is clear, but I want to move away from focusing just on the qualification. You see here, we practise a brand of politics that is different from all those countries you listed,” he said.
He explained that countries such as China operate leadership selection systems where aspiring leaders undergo years of scrutiny before reaching top positions.
“In China, you cannot just come from nowhere. You start from the very word and you climb. They have a very leadership selection process that you go through many years before you get to that point,” Baba said.
“By the time you get to the point of leadership, everything is known about you. Everything is scrutinised.”
The ACF spokesman said Nigeria’s leadership selection process remained weak because standards were often compromised.
“We are simply flexible in our demands for accountability. There are no standards, and there are no standards because we do not demand standards,” he said.
Baba, however, said the average Nigerian was less concerned about certificates than the impact of governance on daily life.
“What matters to them is the effect of good governance,” he said, stressing that Nigerians wanted leaders who could improve healthcare, education, housing, transportation and household welfare.
“At the end of the day, what goes into my pocket? How is my family protected? Would my wife go to the hospital and expect service? Would my children receive quality education?” he asked.
He urged political actors to embrace transparency, saying Nigerians deserved to know “who it is that they are voting for” in 2027.
