EducationWild Animals Have No Place In The 21st Century, So Protecting Them by manjot20007(op): 7:31pm On Oct 14, 2018
Wild animals don't have any place in the 21st century, therefore protecting them will be a waste of resources. So what extent do you agree or disagree?
Some people argue that it is pointless to invest in the security of wild creatures because we people have no need for them. I completely disagree with this point of view.
In my opinion, it's absurd to argue that wild animals have no place in the 21st century. I don't believe that planet Earth exists only for the benefit of humans, and there is nothing special about this specific century which means we suddenly have the right to allow or encourage the extinction of any species. Furthermore, there is not any compelling reason why we should let animals die outside. We do not have to use or ruin every single metre of land to be able to feed or accommodate the world's population. There is plenty of room for us to exist side by side with wild animals, and this should be our goal.
Additionally, I disagree with the thought that protecting animals is a waste of resources. It is usually the protection of natural habitats which ensures the survival of wild creatures, and most scientists agree that these habitats can also be crucial for human survival. If we destroyed these regions, the costs of handling the resulting changes to our planet would substantially outweigh the costs of conservation. By protecting wild animals and their habitats, we keep the normal balance of life on Earth.
In conclusion, we have no right to determine whether or not wild creatures should exist, and I feel that we ought to do everything we can to protect them.
