Iran has not even started anything yet o. The kind of regional chaos that Iran has planned no be here. By the time they unleash the basij and quds forces numbering millions on Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and uae, to invade and topple the family monarchies in those countries, and the houthi rebels in Yemen close off the Arabian sea again and simultaneously start invading Saudi Arabia, and Hezbollah starts incursion into northern Israel with thousands of fighters , that is when the doubters here will realize that Iran can single handedly literally destroy the whole middle east including Israel.

Who evacuates a massive military base in a matter of days? Where will you take all those thousands of soldiers and equipment to? In this information age politicians are still using the "it's a global economic downturn" excuse to justify the utter man made suffering and failure they put us through? There is nothing global about our economic woes, besides Europe and North America, where else do you hear stories of economic downturn and suffering? Europe's own is totally explainable, they got into this economic mess by entering into a conflict they can't win nor sustain. How can you start sanctioning a country that provides more than half of your energy needs and most of your food needs? Why won't hyperinflation hit you hard.
As for north America, the economic woes are not as bad as they make you believe, most people can still afford the basic amenities of life, plus the whole system still functions like a well oiled machine. The little economic problems they are experiencing is all due to there own making, from deliberate deindustrialization over the years to very poorly thought out tariff regimes etc to overspending on useless foreign military bases that takes up billions of dollars yearly.
Those two continents are just the ones experiencing some economic issues mainly due to there own stupidity. Other than that, the rest of the world is progressing just fine with stable prices for decades, functioning public amenities and booming entertainment and cultural scenes. China, japan, infact the rest of Asia, Russia, South America north Africa etc etc are all doing just fine. Yet our wicked politicians will keep fooling ignorant people that the hardship we are going through is a global problem.
The Truth of the matter is our president chose to implement IMF and world bank policies that has been proven to be destructive to countries. No country on earth has ever implemented those policies without failing and suffering miserably for decades, from Argentina, to Thailand to Philippines to even Russia in the 90s. How can you not have any form of safety net to your lower class and poor in society. You remove all forms of subsidies, increase taxes, float your currency to the mercy of the markets, all on top of a non existent public infrastructure like power supply, pipe borne water, federal medical centers with no medicine or equipments, worsening insecurity. Every company is just cheating the citizens day and night without fear, basically making normal life impossible for the common man. Do you even know that Nigeria doesn't currently have a middle class?
If you like continue believing politicians that our current hardship is a global phenomenon.

what surprise me with politicians is how arrogant they get when they see their citizens protesting of hunger and poverty and insecurities etc instead of taking it serious and actually do something to quell the people's complains, they rather start insulting their own citizens calling them miscreants, rebels, public enemies etc can you believe the guts of these people? They literally beg you to elect them into office, and they later turn to see the very people who elected them with disdain.
It was when the Egyptian revolution happened few years ago that toppled hosni Mubarak that I know the common people, the ones that are seen like crap by the polititians can literally bring down a seating government. Believe me if a million people can gather in Abuja and protest just for a few days, the tinubu government and that useless 1999 constitution will be brought down and a whole new system of government will be put in place for the benefit of everybody.
What kind of useless government will remove subsidy on everything to the detriment of its citizens? There is no subsidy on anything in Nigeria now o. From education to petroleum products to health care to security to agriculture to transportation. What the hell is the usefulness of the government to its citizens then?

The op logic is so flawed that it's laughable. First of all, he made a mistake by assuming that 200million people equates to 200million households, that's just wrong. Have you forgotten that each household will have at minimum 5 people? The father, mother, 2 or 3 or even 5 children, so in essence, if a place contains like one thousand people, it means that place will contain like maybe 100 or so households.
So you should slash that your number by dividing it by alteast 4 or 5 , that will give you a more accurate figure. Furthermore, the Ethiopian grand renaissance dam costs exactly 5billion dollars and generates almost 6,000megawatts. So 20billion dollars can give us almost 24,000megawatts of hydroelectric power generation. Another similar amount can give us another 24,000 megawatts of gas fired, wind,coal, Solar, nuclear etc of power.
Are you now telling me that almost 50,000 megawatts of power will not be enough to give every Nigerian cheap uninterrupted power 24hrs a day? You are here quoting 800billion dollars as if we are buying a whole country.
Look mehn, we are just nothing but thiefs in this country making straight forward achievable things look almost impossible to achieve.
Look how we made having a national airline, national telecom company, national database, national electric company etc look like an impossible task to achieve. Notice how literally every freaking functioning country in the world have what I listed? That should tell you how seriously messed up we are.

Forget these people, they think everyone is unexposed and dull so they can easily deceive people with these IMF inspired lines. That's how they keep shouting that government has no business running the aviation sector, yet some of the best airlines ever are run by national governments, look at emirates, British, Ethiopian, Qatar, air France etc
They also said same of telecoms, power supply, water supply, education etc yet every country I know of has one form of government run business in those mentioned sectors that are doing extremely well, and serving it's purpose for which it was created excellently.
Just look at British telecom, telecoms malaysia, who do you think owns all those nuclear power plants and massive transmission lines that you see in the western countries, all government owned, some of the most prestigious universities and research centers out there are government owned, some of the largest companies in the world like royal Dutch shell, deustch post, saudi aramco, qatar investment corporation etc are all government owned.
Yet for some reason, we keep falling into the same lie that government cannot run business, and thus end up selling off some of our most critical public assets that should never be allowed into private hands in the first place. Imagine what we would have been if we refused to allow nitel die off, or Nigeria airways, Nigeria textiles limited, all of our four refineries and depos, etc but instead maintained them, revived and upgraded them and running them efficiently as is done with government owned businneses all over the world. Imagine if we refuse to remove subsidy as no country on earth does that, not even the most capitalist country in the world practices complete subsidy removal on things like fuel, power, agriculture, education etc they all have one form of subsidy or the other

Yet, some economic hitman will come and tell you to completely deregulate your economy by privatizing everything, or that you should delay building what I consider the most important national project that nigeria can ever undertake, the 3050megawatt mambilla hydroelectric power plant. Why refuse building it because of a mere court case on it? Did Ethiopia not build there 6000megawatt dam even though neighboring countries were threatening to bomb them for building it on the river Nile? Why accept to delay our own dam because of a court case? No country can be run on generators, it has to be publicly supplied power supply, most countries have a national career for a reason but we killed ours, we killed our own national telephone and landline infrastructure, then handed everything over to private sector who runs everything wirelessly, and this has national security implications.

Another thing is to stop falling for the trick that Nigeria is a consuming nation, and that we don't produce enough. This is a lie to continue using to artificially keep the naira valueless, that way, they can continue using there ill gotten forex from nnpc and customs to afford luxuries for dirt cheap prices while still enslaving you with dirt poor pay. No country in africa except maybe South Africa produces so much goods and services like Nigeria. Where do you think all those Maggie, cement, noodles, sugar, pharmaceutical drugs, pampers, rubber shoes, plastic chairs, tiles, ceramics, aluminium and iron rods, rice, tons of soft drinks, beer, animal feed, butter, sachet tomatoes, and so much more. Where do you think they are all made? Nigeria is one giant industrial layout manufacturing one product or the other in every corner of Nigeria, yet they will tell you that we consume too much without producing anything. All they have to do is just nairarize our economy, same as what Russia did by simply demanding that foreign buyers of Nigerian products buy it in naira, and you should know that Nigerian products are in high demand in west and central Africa, from our movies to our soft drinks to our clothing and even the simple rubber slippers that you see in the market sold for 300 naira are hot cakes in those our francophone neighbors. Demanding naira for our products will force the buyers to come with their forex and buy naira from our banks, this will inturn create huge demand for naira, thus raising the value significantly. The naira can easily go for 100 naira to a dollar in that scenario , and people can go back to affording the luxuries of life again like we used to with a strong currency.
