Enterprise Risk Management Certified Professional/Associate Professional (ERMCP/AP)- MANAGING RISKS ACROSS THE BUSINESS ENTERPRISE.

GARP- is a financial services certification- nice if you work in this field- little about enterprise risk management- take a look at their magazine article- the certifications are FRM and ERP- little to do with what all organizations and employers are looking for.

PRMIA- same thing- they get into a lot of financial derivatives and VAR- all nice stuff but little to do with the major problems that have befallen us- I think Professional Risk Manager is the certification

Society of Actuaries- this is nice and their certification is CERA but check them out and see how little they understand about this stuff here- most have never heard of ISO 31000

AICPCU- nice but insurance oriented which while a critical component of risk management is only a small piece of the big picture

IIA- sad situation is all I can say and will say unless you twist my arm- but let me just say that they offer very little to anything in the way of credible training and certificates for risk management professionals

ISACA- also misses the big picture and while there is a certification- it is only a fragment of the totality

There is also RIMS -which misses the big picture because it is primarily insurance focused ; there is also PRIMA (not PRMIA)-also missed the big picture and a couple of others- let us also not forget the AICPA and ACFE- - also miss the mark .
