HELP PEOPLE!!!!!!!

ok i wanted to do game share on my psp
with my friend so when i went on game share it said
that i needed to have my psp updated to version 3.8
when i checked what my current version was it said 3.30
how can i update it to 3.8? please help!!! and if i click update it says
The game could not be started.
(DADADADA)
and it makes one big clicking noise. what is wrong with it?
