Newly appointed coach of Algeria national team Rabah Madjer has hit out at the Nigerian team who his team will be facing on Friday in a dead rubber World Cup 2018 Qualifiers tie.

Speaking to the press in Algeria, Madjer who was not in charge of the team when they suffered a 3-1 loss to Nigeria in the reverse tie played in Uyo said the Nigerian team has many players who don’t get to play for their European clubs..

” I have studied the Nigerian team, apart from Iwobi, every other player is mostly a substitute for their team in Europe , but that doesn’t mean they will not be at the level to face us”, Madjer said.

Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi will not be on parade at the Krasnodar Stadium, Krasnodar, venue of the pre-World Cup friendly between Argentina and Nigeria on Tuesday, November 14. There is one thing apiece that Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi sympathizers are finding it difficult to contend with. There is also one other thing that the two of them cannot settle on. These are among the many reasons why the debate between who is the best player between them keeps getting controversial by the day.

Cristiano Ronaldo fans cannot believe that despite his out of the world, mind blowing performances over the last 10 years, there was still someone considered by many (other than those in their category) to be better than him and perhaps rightly so. WHY MUST JAMB REDUCE CUT OFF MARK TO 120 AND 100?

This Question keeps running my mind.

Remember, FG is owing ASUU, though they have paid, but incomplete.
Now look at what am thinking. FG wants to resolve this issue with ASUU in a haste for the fear of NANS(National Association of Nigerian Students), cos NANS gave them 21 days to bring Lecturers back to school, otherwise they wont hesitate doing their own will.
So, since FG are unable to afford the complete Money demanded by ASUU, esp. in the country’s condition now, they decided to Lift back Post Utme in order to atleast satisfy ASUU, you all know as well that Post Utme is a good source of Income to Varsities and Polys.

Now, look at this again, Jamb reduced cutoff Marks to 120 and 100. Isn’t this Surprising?

Look at what am thinking again. In order to satisfy ASUU more, FG or ASUU must have had a secret meeting with JAMB, telling JAMB to reduce the cut off mark.

Reason this, if JAMB cut off mark was to be 180, only those that had 180 and Above would be able to sit for Post Utme, and Schools are not to sell PUTME form Above 3500 Naira, for this they have reasoned that it might not reach their satisfaction, so they decided on reducing Cut off marks, so more candidates can participate in the PUTME whereas bringing enough money for Schools. But dont forget that not everybody will be Able to Gain Admission, I pray thats not our Portion.

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has fixed minimum cut off marks for Nigeria’s tertiary institutions.

The minimum cut off marks for admissions into universities in Nigeria was set for 120, polytechnics and colleges of education pegged at 100, while that of innovative enterprising institutes was pegged at 110.

Institutions are, however, at liberty to raise their cut off marks for admission above the minimum set by JAMB.

Also, admissions into public degree awarding institutions for the 2017 UTME examination will end on January 15, 2018 while for private institutions, it ends on January 31, 2018.

Also, decisions on first choice candidates by universities will end on October 15, and second choice candidates will end on December 15; after which the remaining students will be available in the market place for other institutions till the January closing dates.

These decisions were taken at the 2017 Combined Policy Meetings on Admissions into Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria which ended on Tuesday.

The Registrar of JAMB, Ishaq Oloyede, said a Central Admission Processing System, CAPS, will be used to streamline admission processes among institutions, as it addresses challenges associated with the former approach.

Mr. Oloyede also said that Institutions could conduct dual mode system which involves both manual and the newly introduced CAPS.

He advocated a dynamic educational policy as related to admissions.

“All over the world, there is agitation for dynamic educational policy,” he said. “JAMB only admits for National Diploma, not Higher National Diploma; so why should we use the same requirement for ND and BSC, that is unreasonable parity.”

“We should not be sentimental in fixing our cut off mark; we need not over-dramatise issue of cut off mark.”

He said candidates’ applications to study agriculture was very low while applications to study medicine and health sciences increased.

Speaking on illegal admissions, he said the process is now automated because the Registrar of JAMB must approve all candidates.

“About 17,160 students were admitted without JAMB across institutions in Nigeria,” he said.

The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, also formerly announced a lift of the ban on the conduct of Post-UTME examination as a prerequisite for admission into tertiary institutions.

“Cancellation of Post- UTME is a mistake,” he said.

He noted that banning of post-UTME led to a lot of irregularities by candidates and some institutions.

The minister explained that with the lifting of the ban on the conduct of the examination, institutions are now at liberty to conduct, while adding that fee for the examination should not exceed N2000.

He explained that the 2016 admission process was a huge success, while expressing optimism that government is working assiduously to make that of 2017 better.

Mr. Adamu noted that government is also making efforts to expand access and ensure equality in the education sector.

He expressed optimism that a substantial number of candidates who sat for the 2017 UTME would gain admission into tertiary institution.

“Over 1.6 million candidates applied for degree courses, over 17,000 for ND as well as NCE,” he said.

DEKINA LGA INAUGURATES NEW ADMINISTRATIVE MEMBERS.

In the bid to create more encompassing platform to spread the tasking responsibilities of office, the Dekina LGA Administrative team has been increased from five to seven.

The names of the newly added Members to the existing Five Administrative team are:

1. HON. AHMED SAHAD and
2. HON. ELDER SAMSON OMEDE

The oath of office was administered by the Legal Adviser to the Local Government.

The Chief Administrator of Dekina LGA Hon. KABIRU IDRIS while performing the inauguration today in the council chamber today said the additional members have become necessary in view of the desire of the present administration of His Excellency ALHAJI YAHAYA ADOZA BELLO in carrying everyone along by injecting more people into the political system.

HON. KABIRU IDRIS admonished the new members of the administrative team to be loyal and support of his administration, saying it is through collective agreement that they can help in moving the Local Government forward.

The new Administrative members thanked the governor His Excellency ALHAJI YAHAYA ADOZA BELLO and the Chief Administrator for giving them the opportunity to serve, promising their absolute loyalty and support for his leadership.
