The Federal government has declared French language as compulsory in every school in the country, from nursery to university.

This is aimed at an effort to make French the second official language in Nigeria.


Minister state for Education, Prof. Anthony Anwukah made this known yesterday while receiving French Ambassador to Nigeria, Denys Gaver, who paid him a courtesy call.

French language is a matter of necessity. We have to because we have Cameroon, Niger, Chad, Benin Republic, Togo Guinea, and Ivory Coast surrounding us and so there is need for us to get more Nigerians to become proficient in French language.

“This is good for the continent; it is good for us as a nation. It is good for our brothers at the borders because it will enable us to communicate with them effectively.

Burna Boy


After jointly winning the Best African Collabo at the All African Music Awards (AFRIMA), South Africa rapper AKA and his Nigerian counterpart Burna Boy headed to the nightclub to celebrate their winning.

But before they could start celebrating, the two singers and their cohorts caused a stir. The singers hit the car of a night club patron and also inflicted injuries on the man.

A night club patron who was returning from a bar early in the morning of Monday, November 16 has accused musicians Burna Boy and AKA of molesting him and running him over with a vehicle.

Burna Boy attested the issue happened but he claimed the night patron tried to join their convoy for no reason.

10. Naeto C – Day 1

In a year when a lot of the bigger name rap acts dropped less than impressive projects, Naeto C came in like a thief in the night to deliver this sweet project filled with dope samples, trap beats, and stinging bars. a lot of critics had written off Naeto C as a “had it once upon a time” rapper, but then he dropped one of dopest hip-hop albums on 2015 with Day 1.

9. Seyi Shay – Seyi or Shay

Seyi Shay’s stellar album, Seyi or Shay is arguably the best afro pop album last year, and has everything you’d want in a pop album. The lyrics, arrangement, production, diversity in genres, features are all very well put together, making it an album that will go well in Seyi Shay’s musical history.

8. Reminisce – Baba Hafusa

Reminisce dropped arguably the most anticipated hip-hop album of the year; It comes with being one of the hottest rappers of the year. Baba Hafusa had some of everything in it. From the street hip-hop, to the raunchy, love and gbedu music. Reminisce showed to us on this album that he cane stay consistent, and be a household name in Nigeria for the long haul.

7. Runtown – Ghetto University

Runtown’s debut album, Ghetto University turned out to be a very good one. You might have expected it with the kind of 2014 he had; Galladro, Domot and Baby Answer. The album also reached out to outside shores by featuring DJ Khaled and Walshy Fire on the album, and both features turned out very good. Runtown’s Ghetto University is one of the few albums in Nigeria that you can slot in for a party and jam pretty much all through out. The beats, production, composition are all great.
