This is the moment the chief of staff to the president, Abba Kyari, and head of the service of the federation, Winifred Oyo-Ita, get into a heated argument in Presidential Villa over a leaked letter indicting President Buhari in the reinstatement of fugitive civil servant Abdulrasheed Maina.

In the memo written by Oyo-Ita and addressed to Kyari, the head of the service maintained that the president knew about the reinstatement of Maina, adding that she warned him there would be a public backlash.

The fight which lasted for about 10 minutes took place right inside the council chambers of Aso Rock.

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo and Kyari questioned Oyo-Ita just before the swearing-in of Boss Mustapha as secretary to the government of the federation (SGF) and the launch of the 2018 armed forces emblem.

The Emir of Agaie in Niger, Alhaji Yusuf Nuhu, has appealed to herdsmen and farmers in the emirate to continue to live in peace for meaningful development of the emirate, NAN reports. Nuhu made the call at a town hall meeting at IBB School of Preliminary Studies, Agaie, on Tuesday, October 31.

He stated: "The dry season is setting in now, we should all appreciate it as God’s routine for humanity. Herdsmen should meticulously shepherd their herd and avoid their cattle from trespassing into farm lands.

“I prevail on you to avoid clash of any sort, in the interest of the emirate and the country at large. “Grazing by your herd in the emirate had been crisis-free and I commend you on that, while still soliciting for continued peaceful co-existence among you.”

A human rights group, Resource Centre for Human Rights and Civic Education (CHRICED), has accused the Nigeria Police Force of an attempt to cover up the rape of a 14-year old girl, Maryam Yusuf, by a Mobile Policeman, Corporal Barau Garba (Police Service Number: 275601).

The allegation was contained in a statement signed by Dr. Ibrahim Zikirullahi, the group's Executive Director. In the statement, CHRICED said it has received credible information that the Corporal abducted Maryam and raped her repeatedly.

"According to information reaching us, the young Maryam, who lives with her parents at the Hausa Quarters in Asaba, Delta State, traveled to Onitsha to buy some items for her father. Unfortunately, Maryam lost the money for the items she was meant to purchase. It was while frantically searching for the vehicle she boarded in a bid to recover the money that Garba approached her," said the group.

It added that Garba promised to help her find the money and show her the way back home. In desperate need of help and lured to think she was safe with a policeman, Maryam took the offer of assistance from the officer, who took her on his. motorcycle to his room at the Police Base.

A Nigerian man was beaten to pulp and arrested for allegedly killing another Nigerian man's wife in Brazil over unpaid debt. According to Eze King Fortune, the suspect who is a Yoruba man stormed the home of an Igbo man to collect about 3000 ‎Reais (1000 dollars i.e over N360,000) he was being owed. But he couldn't find his debtor at home because he reportedly went to pick up his kids from school.

Nigerian troops attached to Operation Crocodile Smile II seized ammunition belonging to suspected Niger Delta militants after storming their camp on Tuesday.

The troops had been dispatched to Ajakurama, Gelegele and Egbema Kingdom in Warri North Local Government Area in the state when they discovered the camp, sources told our correspondent.

Upon sighting the troops, the militants fled the scene.

The soldiers subsequently searched the camp for weapons and set fire to the shrines at the camp.
Speaking with SaharaReporters anonymously, one of the community leaders said on Tuesday, "Soldiers stormed our communities in search of criminals, especially armed militants involved in criminal activities as part of the exercise of the Operation Crocodile Smile II, which was flagged off in Delta State last week.
