Tolexander:
This is similar to paying school fee in Covenant, Babcock, JABU, Bowen et al. Cos these schools are built from tithe and their school fee is like paying for service being offered by these schools built from tithe.
I don't understand this

A Pastor Brought Some Shirts For Me To Buy But I Didn't Cos He Said It Was A Tithe Received And I Didn't Consider It Appropriate To Buy Something That Was Used As Tithe In Churches..
Now Is It Normal To Buy Things Used For Tithe Paying?

No dissing but I agree with ur #1 on the 2nd list. I am Igbo and an average Igbo man knows what an average typical Imo person is capable of (not just women). They usually want to outsmart u in everything, including climbing a stair case. And they see it as being sharp. Nwa di sharp. But as with every rule, there are exceptions. I usually let people confirm allegations against them.

EducationAkwa Ibom State University by Markieee(op): 9:13am On Oct 06, 2015
Good Morning All,
Getting admission into the university have been kind of hard for jambites ( as we call it).
And my family is not left out.
My big brother tried but couldn't get after some years and was left frustrated.
me on my own part couldn't get directly, had to do diploma hoping to get admitted through it by next year.
Now my immediate lil brother is not getting at his first trial and my mum wouldn't risk any of his kids staying at home when others are in school.
Now someone suggested we buy a direct entry form at Akwa ibom state University but we barely know a thing or two about the Uni, and we've been spending much on this admission issue.
So I wanna use this educational medium to solicit help/knowledge from any of us here who knows about Akwa ibom state University.
Like do they accept students who didn't choose em on jamb( that's direct entry)?
Is the sale of the form still on?
How much is their school fees (specifically for arts students; Public administration)?
What's the school like in terms of studies?
How much is Cultism contained in the school?
Please any form of info would be appreciated.
Thanks And God Bless!!!
EducationMisplaced Priority; Education Vs Pageantry by Markieee(op): 3:31pm On Oct 05, 2015
The best graduating students get paltry sum of money while winners of pageantry smile home with brand new automobiles. How will our country move forward where academic excellence is neglected to the background and frivolities appreciated beyond measure.
No scholarship awards, no bursary for indigent students. Government is gradually or even fully becoming involved in the pageantry issue. This shows the level government, corporate organizations and individual place academics in this nation.
No wonder the decline in academic performance in the various levels of education. Some blame it on the social media while some blame it on the teachers and lecturers. No, I blame it on the stakeholders. Nobody wants to invest in the education sector these days. Bright students are not encouraged, there is certainly no motivation these days.
In the past, our lecturers, teachers and the prominent in the society boost steadily of how they got scholarship grants up to the university level while some were privileged to travel outside the country for their study. Do we get to see that these days? Certainly not. Some universities "manage" to retain their best graduating students while others are left to in the lurch to find their bearing.
On daily basis, we get to see "Miss this", "Miss that", "Miss this this", "Miss that that", "Miss this this this", "Miss that that that" and the list continues endlessly. Each churning out posh vehicles while bright students in the universities toil endlessly, battling with the annoying and excessive fees to pull through the university.
Until priorities are placed right in this country, stagnation will become a recurring decimal. Some private sectors who have been actively involved in sponsoring bright and indigent students or academic innovations and ventures are gradually pulling out and joining the bandwagon of pageantry organizers.
It mustn't be a car, Nigerian students should be encouraged as an educated nation is already on part of success. In various students associations in our universities today, large chunk of money is budgeted for fanfare and pageantry while a little or no attention is paid in academic excellence. I don't blame them at all when the government, corporate organizations and the wealthy in the society who are supposed to champion drive for the reward of academic excellence place high premium on pageantry.
Imagine out of the 800 world best universities, only one university in Nigeria made it. I'm not against pageantry at all, so you don't get it twisted but the needful should be done. Shall we all fold our hands and allow our best brains in the university wallow in abject poverty and penury while we exalt frivolities which won't lead us anywhere?
It's about time, government, private sectors, corporate organizations, stakeholders, wealthy and well meaning Nigerians got serious in tackling the cankerworm that have permeated deep into our education sector. Let's not all pretend we don't know the right thing to do. Of course we all know but the truth is that Nigeria is not yet ready to tell themselves the truth. It's high time we stopped playing politics with education.
Take a stand and support the reward of excellence today and we shall be amazed at what extent we shall get to if we are truly serious about national development.

CHIJIOKE WROTE:
*
100 naira Airtime is something, Biko Nigerian girls should get this into their head.
I just remembered an incident, I was so broke. it's not been long sef..
and a girl(Just a friend, Nothing much) sent me a message that I should send her recharge voucher, that she was stranded and bla bla bla...
This dude was with only 100 naira in his pocket and that was my Transport from where I was to the house.
I hardly tell people NO.. I try to find a way and being that it was her first time...
so I bought MTN 100 and sent to her, I had 8naira on my account..
I trekked home, a distance of 100 naira on bike isn't a stone throw at all..
I didn't do that for any selfish interest. just not to disappoint her cos I believe if someone finds me able to solve their need then I really shouldn't fail them..
To my greatest surprise after three days, this Lady didn't even call to say thank you.
I had to call her, And when she picked, she jokingly said, 'So it's Just #100 you sent to me"
I Laughed and ended the call..
Sometimes when someone gives us something we term 'LITTLE' it might be from scarcity.. that one comes with much value than when little is given out of much..
Unknown to lady, I trekked far distance to give her what she didn't appreciate..
Take people they way they are, you never may know the pain it took them to let go and letting it into your hands..
People might not tell you what it took them to help you
appreciate them no matter how little.
I'm sorry to say but a lot of ladies have this ungrateful spirit.
It can deprive you a whole lot, Cos from where little came, great will also come..
Even to give little, is a sign of selflessness.
If a person can give you the little he has in times of lack, there's no amounts he can't give you in his days of abundance
