Laravel + Frontend Designer (UI/UX)

About the Role

We’re hiring a Laravel-first engineer who can turn high-fidelity designs into fast, accessible interfaces and who’s comfortable across the stack. You’ll collaborate with a dedicated UI/UX designer, own implementations end-to-end, and ship clean integrations. If you’re a Full-Stack Developer, there’s room to lead on architecture and backend depth as well.

What You’ll Do

Build features in Laravel 10/11/12 (routes, controllers, policies/guards, form requests, queues/events, Eloquent).
Translate Figma designs into pixel-accurate UIs using Blade or Inertia, Tailwind CSS, Vite, and modern JS.
Create reusable components aligned to a design system (states, spacing, typography, motion/micro-interactions).
Implement clean API integrations (REST/JSON, webhooks, auth) with robust error handling, logging, and retries.
Ensure performance, accessibility (WCAG basics), responsiveness, and secure patterns (CSRF, rate limits).
Write concise tech notes, follow Git workflows (branches, PRs, code reviews), and keep tickets moving.

(Optional) Full-Stack Developer Track

If you’re stronger across the stack, you may also:

Design/extend APIs (Laravel/Symfony or Node/Express), caching with Redis, queues/Horizon.
Own MySQL schema design, migrations, query performance, and indexing.
Set up CI/CD (GitHub Actions), basic cloud deploys (Forge/Vapor, DO, AWS), Nginx, env secrets.
Mentor on code quality, testing (Pest/PHPUnit), and observability (logs/metrics).

Must-Have Skills

Laravel expertise: Eloquent patterns, validation, policies/guards, queues/events.
Frontend craftsmanship: Blade or Inertia + Tailwind; semantic HTML; modern JS (Alpine or React); Vite.
UI/UX implementation: faithful Figma-to-code, consistent spacing/typography, interactive/empty/error/loading states.
Integration hygiene: resilient API calls, graceful fallbacks, clear logs.
Database: MySQL fundamentals and performance awareness.
Ownership & communication: can take a feature from spec → shipped with minimal oversight.

Nice to Have

Inertia.js, Livewire, or React (TypeScript) experience.
React Native (TS) for mobile updates.
Testing (Pest/PHPUnit), Storybook/design tokens, Tailwind theming.
Basic Django/Python familiarity is a plus (small maintenance tasks).

Stable, observable integrations and fast page loads.
Accessible, responsive experiences across devices and networks common in Nigeria (optimize for low-latency/limited data).
Reliable delivery cadence with low rework.
