You can't separate your spirit from the songs you sing. |
baba11: .....It's somebody like you we need in Nigeria,if we can pool our resources intellectually, materially etc together,Nigeria'll be better for us all.If you run,i run and everybody runs away from Nigeria, who'll make it better in the long run, besides, don't wash our dirty linen in the public again,ok.That 'retardant' man,i didn't vote for him so I can't say much about him.Only my vote cannot count!!!For your information,i studied engineering,i spent the exact 5yrs(Bsc),2yrs(ND) we were mearnt to spend,so retract what you said here,i don't agree!!!Well, I think the more we talk about these ugly things and expose them the better for us. In fact the onus is placed on all good Nigerians to come out and fight against these ills in our country. You are lucky to have spent the normal 5yrs there are people who spent more than that... you can quote me wrong! I didn't run away from Nigeria the truth is that the evil ones in Nigeria that are supported by the religious saboteurs will not allow any good person to come close of course you are there, you know what I am saying! |
baba11: No,i am not better than them, infact we are all the same in the sight of our creator no matter where you come from be it white, black.Same for the rich and the poor in the sight of Allah(swt).May Allah forgives us of our shortcomings, shows the right path and may He not use this against us on the day of accountability, amen!!!Good you have liberated your mind a little and I can see is no longer being construed by religion, since you can identify that we are all equal in the sight of God. That in a sense tells me that you have come to term with the idea that it is not proper for us to identity/inscribe an invention by man to his religion because our religion gives a clear definition of our relationship with God but our invention does not because anybody can come up with a thing no matter how magnificent it may appear but that person is not related with God. Therefore, using the term "Islamic inventions" in a way to glorify Islam is a mistake because the lesser cannot glorify the greater, in essence Islam I suppose is of the Divine and invention are of the mortals, let me leave at this stage because I don't want to go higher. Somehow I was labelled a free thinker on this issue, but I saw the danger of what this kind of things stand for, just like the Muslim beauty pageant of a thing, these things are wrong and there is no way one can align them with what Islam really stand for. Mind you I don't like seeing things from the surface rather digging the latent and that is where the issue is. |
baba11: .....What are you insinuating?Dont rove from the questions answer them sincerely and faithfully. |
baba11: ....Well,whether you are jamaican, togo etc,i don't mind.I am not that fanatic religion wise.Thank God you didn't abuse me because of boko Haram.I am just here to tell you that,Allah has taught us completely how we are going to live our life to the fullest,no sentiment whatsoever!Maybe you are being influence by your environs,i can't say!If i may ask, where are you from?but never say we nigerians are MUMU,i beg to differ abeg.If you want to know ,we are the smartest. The smartest indeed! Yes of course in 419, Credit cards, forgery, Drug paddling, Ritual killings, cultism both in schools and outside, slavery, human right abuse, religious "bigot-ism", repression of the lowly and poor citizens. A smart country led by PHd and a former lecturer and the university union is on strike, it takes ten years to graduate from any Nigerian university, what a shame? Smart people without electricity, having an economy that is being powered by "I better pass my neighbour" and you are smart people. They have sold NEPA or Your PHCN and there is no light virtually all over the country. Everyday your PHD president will come out to promise 5000mgwatts for a country that needs at least 3-600,000mg watts. Smart people! Oil theft has become a routine, kerosene is now 150.00naira per/lit in a country that produces and export crude, smart people your Refineries refused to work since 12yrs ago, up till now the turn around maintenance never come to an end. 10 - 15 years back to travel along the highways was delightful, as a driver you can close your eyes and drive. A journey from Benin to Lagos will not take more than 4hrs on a well regulated speed but these days the story is different. I visited home and I traveled to Abuja, I met a city built with corrupt money, pollution was/is everywhere, homosexualism and lesbianism on the rise. I saw rottenness in the form of the so called progress or prosperity. I began to wander what the future holds for the coming generation. All the ministries that I visited I met corruption right from the gate man or security agent at the gate, you must drop for him/her to do his job, bribery is a way of life. Smartest people, and you have recycle leadership, Papa chop remain for pikin and the pikin go chop remain for his pikin on the detriment of the whole 167million people, what a country? Please when next you mention Nigeria dont put the word smart cos they are not in the real sense of it. As for the MUMU it is your fellow Nigerian man that established the word..... ask Lagbaja he will explain better! Please I want to watch my friend Adeola on Sahara TV, cut your pen chikena! |
baba11: ....You failed to understand that you cannot alienate religion from your existence. It's religion that shaped me to be good to my fellow being like u.Y?because he has taught me d complete way of life.Whoever does otherwise follow their whims and would be judge accordingly! If u do an atom of good deeds,u'll surely be rewarded for it,so think!!! #thinkstraight!!!!!!!Answer these questions: 1. If you are a Muslim probably because you are born into a Muslim family right? 2. Do you consider the fact that you never gave ALLAh the option to create you and place you in a particular family. Therefore you are born into a Muslim family is a privilege not a right. 3. Do you now condemn others who are not "privileged or fortunate" like you? 4. In that case you came to meet the religion you now belong not the reverse? 5. Have you ever thought about the faith/fate of others who are not born Muslims 6. Do you believe that if people like you can live out what the Holy Koran teaches these other people can become Muslims with easy? 7. For the fact that they didn't create themselves do you now blame them and what is your work towards them... Is it to portray yourself better than them and make them look like lesser mortals? My dear, you have to think and not just think straight but in a broaden manner. |
baba11: .........oooh yea,i got d@!you are a free thinker!!i doubt if you pray 5* in a day sha!!!#dont use minority attitude to judge majority, follow the right path....And equally you shouldn't use the majority attitude to judge the minority because sometimes there are foolish majority, that is why I never advocate for democracy! That is why in your country Nigeria you have the masses who I consider MUMU Multitude following few elites who are just organised skimmers. The are found in the government and in the religious settings. Nobody can confuse me gone are days... now I have decided to work with good people and not bad people you can't confuse me enough... not even with religion, tribal sentiments, gender sentiments and all worth trashes people are using to confuse the lesser minds. |
baba11: ...You just told me the reason y you don't come to islamic section,i got that!Is Goodluck a muslim?Corruption is @ its peak.Definitely, necessity's the mother of invention, that shouldn't make you not to encourage your fellow brothers to do the same!We muslims,we are good people,we do not kill or threat our fellow human being unjustly,if anybody does otherwise,he/she has trangressed(deviated) from the right path.May Allah prevents us from such!!!Well if your Goodluck is an evil person I will not work with him and one more thing I have not applauded the current administration in Nigeria! However, my stand still remains i will work with good people not the bad ones. People are hiding under religion and disguising themselves as pure whereas evil is hibernated in them. My word to you is that you should try and be human in all your approach to issues in this life. |
dyfatai: Salam alaekum sisterThere are things I want to point out here which you are not getting right: 1. Address the points that you picked from statement very well and dont beggar any of them 2. If you term my statements as secular, well , to me it looks myopic and you should broaden you mind, unless you want me to pick arms before I will be considered a true Muslim. 3. Talking about secularism I have been fortunate and unfortunate to have lived with people from the Arab world and work in their house and ate with them stay with their children and wives. In a way I dont think that I am more secular then them. Inside their houses anything goes which does not reflect the life they live outside. Sometimes, I wander who is deceiving who and who is cheating who? 4. Please, I dont want to go further to talk about my experiences but I will leave you with this word in everything try as much as you can to be human no matter who is involve.(In this life I have received help where I never thought it will come from and I have been denied help where I thought I should be harboured/nurtured. 5. I have chosen to work with good people and shun bad people regardless of their religion chikena!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
baba11: ....If you are a muslim, you will not say d@!!!There is something that I have observed in life, and that is there are two people in this world, the good people and the bad people, irrespective of your religious inclination. Come to think of it, don't you think if the whole Muslims in Nigeria are really good Muslims Nigeria wouldn't be the way it is today. I think you should think less of religion and be more human in your approach to issues in life. Check out the ranks of people that have ruled Nigeria you will find more Muslims than any other religion, so why didn't they reflect Islam in what they were doing in the government? So what if another person from another religion occupies that position and perform better? Which means that person is the better person and the former is a bad person. Now I am not discussing religion but the individual at the center. Should I now support the person who is bad because he/she is a Muslim? Then I am not a true Muslim. So my stand remains strong: 1. Religion is a private thing 2. Theology cannot/and will not motivate any invention rather necessity. 3. If theology motivates inventions, then the Muslims should not use anything invented by anyone who is not a Muslim because such invention is corrupt and not holy, the way a Muslim is not allowed to marry a Hindu and other religion affiliated to idols. 4. That there are two kinds or people in this world the bad and the good people (They can be found across all religious bodies) 5. That life is about what people can make out of the life you are living( your meaningful contributions to the world) if the reverse is the case then there is trouble (cheating and killing is unavoidable) |
bankyman: The situation in Nigeria differs from this other places, the OP if i may guess is only trying to enlightened some people about the beauty of Islam and the place where it ought to be not to spite others (what have they got to show for it now). The purpose should have been to remind the Muslim populace the position of Islam on education and inventions so as to motivate the Nigerian Islamic generation on the need to harness the bounties that lie therein in its religion. Some of the pertinent issues raised by you can would be of no issue if most of the populace knew what you knew. Some of the youth just need this motivation and kindly look at things from this angle and not condemn the OP. I guess he meant well.Theology cannot motivate invention rather necessity. if there is need to be met people are moved to see what they can do to ameliorate the situation and possibly find a solution to it. Hitler made the German engineers to come up with a vehicle that does not need water to operate because he wanted to cross the desert and presently scientist all over the world are working hard to see that they come up with a solution that will stop AIDS and HIV some of them are having sleepless night in the laboratories, just because there is a need to be met. |
baba11: ....wait a minute, all of una wey dey say after islam,na christian's invention plenty pass,ok nah,na ur own u yawn,me i wan yawn my our nw, say na jews invented pass us.Do u tink say Thomas edison,my mentor;the great albert einstein and co na christians?no,dem b jews or atheists(over 90% of dem ni o),even our own wole soyinke na atheist. If u wan talk nah,u'll say im b christian(ignorant pple, lazy pple u b,read!read!!i say read!!!).Don't just come her and be saying wetin u dont no.Do u no y america cannot fait isreal?both of dem b jews and jews+jews=jews chikena!!!So if any invention comes out of the two nw,u'll say na christian. Is christian the same thing as jew?I no even c u b4,maryam,what a beautiful name we have!are u muslim or christian??So how come my name is a problem to you are we discussing my name or invention? All am saying is that we should remove religion from inventions. Invention is a product of necessity chikena!! |
saly kely: Young man why not research the role Islam played in these invention. I posted a link credited to the US President where he linked these invensions to Islam. Those Scientist were not secular they were grounded in Islamic theology for which they authored many books along that of science. Moreover, their schools and centre of learning were located inside and around the Mosque where they lead prayers.I am not holding brief or leaning on the fence for any one. However, I want u to answer these questions What do you think that inspired Indians to invent all that has been accredited to them? The Hindu Religion I guess and if you answer is yes... then you have to starting honoring the Hindu god. Then all the Jewish scientist that invented things were inspired by their Jewish religion? Well if your answer is yes you should start honoring the Jewish God. And what about the Christians? So it was their Christ that told them to start inventing things, again if your answer is yes... you should start honoring their Christ before you use anything produce by Christians. According to Koran as a Muslim, you have only one God to serve. Will you agree with me that whenever u are using anything not made/invented by a Muslim you are indirectly honoring their gods. This is contrary you know. What I'm trying to communicate with you is that we should grow up and stop attaching religion in everything, some few months ago it was "Muslim beauty pageant and now it Muslim Inventions" why all these? Nobody is taking about how man's dignity and betterment can be upgraded. Nobody is talking about the war in the Middle east how it can come to an end and human beings can enjoy peace. Saudi Arabia is very angry that US did not attack Syria, a nation that is suppose to push and encourage peace is inducing war in the Islamic region. All I'm saying is that lets us that are in this part of the world especially Nigeria dress our beds very well so that we can sleep on it peacefully. My religion is my private business chikina! |
baba11: ......Egypt is the CRADLE of civilization which is a muslim country!!!Their civilization then had nothing to with Islam, because Islam has not arrived in their country at the time you are quoting. |

Some of the pertinent issues raised by you can would be of no issue if most of the populace knew what you knew. Some of the youth just need this motivation and kindly look at things from this angle and not condemn the OP. I guess he meant well. The mistake of the OP is to link this to religion. You can see the result, the discussion now is based on religion, is no longer to educate the people as you said, presentation of issue/matter is very important. As I said before, everybody is endowed and it is left for one to use his endowment to affect the society positively and not necessarily dragging religion into it. After all, that one invented something does not in away make him/her better Muslim or christian or even Hindu as the case may be. |
Anybody can invent anything if you are endowed you are. It shouldn’t be linked to ones religion. Most people that invented almost all the useful things we are seeing today are from the “Christian world” and I have not seen anything like “Christian invention”. The mobile phones we have today are from the “Asian world” and I have not seen them coming out to claim Hindu or Buddhist invention. Honestly, even if it were the Muslims that invented all is mentioned above it is too shabby to link it to Islamic religion. Anybody can invent anything if you are endowed you are. Is it going to change the situation of education in this Country called Nigeria? or is it going to stop the corruption practices raking the economy of this country? it is time we grow up and face the reality on ground. The so called Muslims, Christians and Hindu/Buddhist living in the American world or Asian world or the middle eastern world are not facing the situation you are facing here(Nigeria). They don't know that the price of a bag of rice has gone up beyond the reach of the poor, the roads that are death traps, the bomb blast from the BH killing both Muslims and Christians is not their headache! Come to think of it, these inventions were made in the past; you that posted this article what have you invented in this your country called Nigeria? What can you boast of? Let’s put our house in order and enjoy the peace we should for without peace nothing can be archived. The Syrians are living their country and crossing the Mediterranean sea to Europe countries without minding the danger because it seems that they will enjoy peaceful environment over there. They are not minding their religion or way of life. Let us think oooo! |
Kay 17: Not as an act itself, right?Try to draw a clean borderline, because you are injecting a clause that makes it hard to understand your stand. Earlier you said "whatever that is beautiful should be advertised(paraphrased) I cannot grasp what you want to make out of that. |
Kay 17: Actually I was more involved with people who shared my view that sex is beautiful unlike you, who believe it is filthy ( of course with your own reasons).Well the beauty of sex is not in its commercialization or exploitation but in its decency and sanctity. |
novicali: Think is better we begin to see sex as an act to reproduce oneself and not an act to induce promiscuity in the society. This means that sex should be done within the parameters of the people that are suppose have it anything beyond that signals danger. This looks like a wide dream with the present crop of people we have in the society |
Uyi Iredia: Reasons ? I recall giving reasons for my position. In anticipation, other goods don't create the same addiction in the widespread manner $€x and porn does: also good books eg school textbooksHow wonderful it will be to behold the minds of the young people in our society filled with good pictures(decent things) and wonderful ideologies that enhances the dignity of man. We yearn for such a world (society) to come into being than what we have now. What we have nowadays is a total abysmal dilapidation and decrepitude of our societal norms and cultural background, hence we are no longer who we are. What a sorry state! |
Uyi Iredia: Reasons ? I recall giving reasons for my position. In anticipation, other goods don't create the same addiction in the widespread manner $€x and porn does: also good books eg school textbooksIndeed sexual exploitation (as in the form of pornographic movies and unclad pictures) should be termed and indicted as violence against humanity. |
Kay 17: Commercialization of sex involves a trade not just advertisement, and sex advertisement also works as educating source about sex.Inasmuch as I agree that both terms are for information distribution, but it is very apt for me undoubtedly to say that advertisement is heavily incline on business purposes (act of making money as regards to the topic) than just information distribution whereas creating awareness (Sex education as regards to the topic) is just information distribution based on instilling the merits and demerits of the topic in the minds of people! |
Kay 17: ^^There is a big gulf between creating awareness (Sex education) and advertisement (commercialization of sex). Instead of sex education you are opting for advertisement which very wrong and demeaning! Because in your language sex is beautiful. |
Kay 17: I would in the same vein presume all investments are bad, and corrupt such a good thing as sex, right?I guess you should be real and stop pretending. Try and put a square peg into a square hole and stop forcing a square peg into a round hole. |
noblejames: I agree say sex beautiful but na when you dey doam with the right person... but make I ask u dis question if u dey do sex with minor e good? if u dey so sex make small children dey see am e good? and if u dey do sex make people come dey watch you as u dey doam e good? Na the abuse we talk so..Good Questions |
Kay 17: Advertisement merely means dissemination of certain information simple. I don't see how that reduces human dignity to null, there.Advertisement in this context is beyond dissemination of certain information, it has to do with attraction of investment into the sex industry of which people like you are propelling. |
Kay 17: Because of your conservative view on sexI know your kind will not allow any of your female relative to be involve in an extravagant sexual exhibition. You will be very conservative about that! |
Kay 17: If an object is beautiful, there is no fault in promoting and advertising such an object, same as sex!Well I will accept that u talk about sex education not advertisement. The word advertisement is disrespectful to humanity, I mean is an insult to human dignity. In the best interest of the society I suggest you rescind that word "advertisement" |
Kay 17: I'm glad you saw sex and its abuse as two different subjects, however I was discussing sex alone. If sex is something beautiful and divinely powerful, should we propagate it more, should its beauty be declared daily?!the topic is all about the abuse of sex as in pornographic movies and unclad pictures shown around in the social media. If you don't know what the topic is all about go read from the op! ![]() |
if you disagree with christian doctrine then you should not be on the thread.
I disagree with you even the life style of non Christians in the society must surely reflect to Christians if things are not under control. I think this is more of a societal malady. |
Kay 17: How is spreading sex contents through social media and internet polluting if the subject itself (sex) isn't dirty? How is abuse to drug use dirty and yet such drugs are useful to humans if used on a regulated manner? I still maintain my stand sex is not dirty and rotten but the abuse of sex is very dirty and rotten. The earlier you get this to your head the better you start to improve the moral standard of the society. |
Kay 17: The demonization of sexuality! Why should sexuality be condemned as rotten, when it is one of man's most vital instinct! It solely holds the power of reproduction - - a Godlike power. How then could such a thing be filthy?!I think these names you are calling is not in line with what the topic is all about. This topic is talking about how we can keep the sanctity of this thing that hold the power of reproduction. This topic is saying that there is an abuse going on in the act of sex... sex is not filthy and is not rotten but the method to which it has been commercialized and used as a means of pollution in the society is filthy and rotten. |
