crackcrack: This is bad advice!
While there are some instances where you can get away without attaching your own statement, more often than not, you will get a refusal. The ECO will say something along the lines of: “While I see your sponsor is willing and able to sponsor your trip, it is your own circumstances that are paramount in making a decision on your visa application.” They will then go ahead to mention the issues with your bank statement (or lack of one) and then deny the application.
Always, always, always include your own statement, even if you’re being sponsored. Let that statement be clean. No extra credits or debits that are different from what you stated on your application.
I recently applied for my parent and elected to sponsor the entire trip. Still, I attached my parent’s bank statement, even though the closing balance was around 200k. I also attached my own statement that showed I had more than enough to cover the trip. The visa was granted. Ok no problem. The people I have come across that were sponsored and didn’t put their bank statements were issued the visas without issue. (My friend sponsored her retired mum) (my colleague was sponsored by a company for in official trip) But that’s ok. Everyone should include their personal bank statements. |

Hello everyone. Just needed to put this out there. If your visa application is being sponsored (by parents, children or office), there is no need to attach your own bank statement. They would focus on yours especially if there are discrepancies. The sponsor’s bank statement would suffice. |

Hello everyone. Please, is 12million Naira enough funds for someone to sponsor her mum and brother’s UK visit visa? She already has her visa and they will be traveling together. Thanks 🙏 |

emmyvet: Hi @xeexee7, congratulations!
Just trying to understand the process a bit better:
For the 2nd application (which was successful), did you receive the decision letter via email, or was it just the collection mail from VFS?
For the 1st application (which was refused), I assume you got the refusal letter by email—just confirming?
I’ve received a collection mail for a family member, and we’re trying to decide if it’s safe to go ahead and book a flight before picking up the passport.
Thanks in advance! You only get a mail for refusal. |

puffmama: Thank you so much , i don't think so, I actually thought this was late as the 3rd one cane out after 3 days . This one took 10 days so I suspect they have a lot of applications but frequent travellers checks may be a bit faster than a first timer. I pray you get a favourable response soon. Thanks for all your assistance. I got the email to pick up today. I did my biometrics same day with my friend/colleague as we are planning a girls trip together. We were both issued a 1 month visa. It’s our first time by the way. |

(Copied from the main group) Hi! Please, after payment and answering questions for the interview waiver I was told I was eligible and I selected yes to go ahead but the thing is, the calendar is greyed out and I can’t even see December 2024 or year 2025 even after selecting lagos. Also, the top of the calendar is saying consulate appointment. Is this right for Dropbox
My dashboard has also auto generated a POST appointment letter but all info is blank. I’m just so confused, I just want to make sure I’m doing the right thing.
Please any solutions? |

Gbol123: Hi Masorich
Did he have to pay again after he cancelled the other appointment just to get the IW? I guess because I choose empty fot the Annotation question. But really it has no Annotation
Masorich:
He cancelled his other appointment and we had to try registering on another device with the same passport number. Yes he had to pay again to get the IW. There is actually no annotation so I wonder why it’s now an issue if you select empty. In October I selected empty and I got IW but in November it seems to take u to physical appt. |
