Education / Cultism:edo State Government Orders Partial Shutdown Of 2 Secondary Schools For by MassesEyes(f): 7:11pm On Apr 01, 2019
*Cultism: Shaibu orders partial shutdown of Ihogbe College, Oba Akenzua Secondary School*

*_…as school mentorship committee charges students on good conduct_*

Edo State Acting Governor, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu, has ordered the partial shutdown of Ihogbe College and Oba Akenzua Secondary School, to allow the state government, parents and a mentorship committee brainstorm and provide solutions to cult-related activities among students in the schools.

During a meeting between the acting governor and parents of the students, held at the school premises on Monday, April 1, in Benin City, Shaibu said the schools would be shut a week earlier than the scheduled date for closure, with only those in Senior Secondary School 3 (SS3) and Junior Secondary School (JSS3) allowed into school, as others students have finished their exams.

He said this would enable a mentorship committee set up to address clashes in the schools, come up with effective approaches to resolving the lingering issues and set the template to ensure the students imbibe acceptable social behaviours and good morals.

He noted, “We cannot allow cultism in our secondary schools in Edo state. We have to stamp our authority in these two schools. We cannot allow rivalry and cult clashes among students. That is why we have to come in to deal with the issue of morals. Something went wrong and that is what we must correct. That is why we have set up the mentorship committee and closed the school to investigate the root cause of this incident and find solutions.”

He added, “What is key is that these students need serious moral rearmament. We have to refocus their minds toward education.”

Noting that there was a need to involve parents in addressing the lingering issues, Shaibu said, “We cannot do it without involving parents. The teacher will play his or her role; the government will play theirs, but the feedback and follow up from home is critical. That is why we have to bring the parents in.”

Stressing that the situation in the school is not a lost cause, he said the students can still be guided aright with the right mentoring and support. “The good news is that the situation is not that bad to the extent that these children cannot be helped. The complaints from the teachers and all other things I saw are policy issues, which we will go back to the office and discuss. Don’t forget that the governor must endorse some of these decisions because they are going to be critical and we have to think through them before making any drastic decision. We are not going to leave any stone unturned,” he added.

A motivational speaker, Pastor Kay Benson-Akhigbe, urged the students not to feel offended whenever their teachers correct them, noting that such corrections are meant to enable them lead better lives.

Akhigbe urged the parents to ensure they guide their children and wards on appropriate morals and report deviant behaviours to teachers and members of the committee.
Politics / APC IN SERIOUS Crisis:oshiomhole Is A Big Scam Nigerians Beware – Senator Marafa by MassesEyes(f): 7:31pm On Mar 31, 2019
The Senator representing Zamfara Central District in the National Assembly, Kabiru Marafa, has advised the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, to stand by the truth as regards the party’s 2018 October’s botched primaries in the state.

Marafa, who is Chairman of Senate Committee on Petroleum (Downstream), gave the advice in a letter addressed to Oshiomhole during the weekend in reaction to his reported endorsement of the Zamfara APC faction led by Governor Abdulaziz Yari when he featured on Channels TV’s Hard Copy last Friday.

He urged the party chairman to maintain his position as a leader by standing by the truth, and not allow pressure from some interested individuals to change him,
Marafa wrote, “It’s quite unfortunate and disheartening to watch the hitherto respected comrade rubbishing his hard earned name before the whole world.

“Oshiomhole performed creditably well during the party primaries as he led the party aright to the admiration of all, including those in the opposition parties.

“He aligned himself with the masses, against some state governors who assumed the position of the Almighty in their respective states. Why do you want to change, my Comrade?

”What Oshiomhole said (on Hard Copy) was nothing but a wicked lie that can neither stand moral nor legal scrutiny.

“Records and documentary evidences are abound everywhere that APC did not conduct primaries in Zamfara state, due to the attitude of the state governor who threatened publicly to send Oshiomhole to the graveyard if he dares him.

“Oshiomhole at the peak of the controversy affirmed the fact that no primaries was conducted and his famous video of ‘primaries are to be conducted not by state governments nor by state party chairmen but by the panels sent by the partys NWC, is still very much available on the internet.

“Equally available is INEC’s letter to him (Oshiomhole) that they receive reports from their local office in Gusau that APC didn’t conduct valid primaries as at 12 am on Sunday, October 7, 2018. It was based on this fact that INEC said it wasn’t expecting candidates from (APC) and you Chief Oshiomhole responded by accepting the fact that APC didn’t conduct primaries but you did consensus! A simple google search will amplify these facts.”

Marafa also reminded Oshiomhole that Governor Yari sat in company of his state factional chairman of the APC and announced the results of his primaries live on Television and the video is still very much available on the net.

“It’s not only shocking but unbelievable that our comrade chairman, likable by all will change his narrations at the tail end of the match and this is a minus to the Comrade that i have known to be a respecter of rules and facts.”

Politics / Press Release.... Nigerians Don't Give Up....Hon.osahon Igiebor by MassesEyes(f): 9:12am On Feb 20, 2019
Office of the Chairman Peoples Democratic Party, United Kingdom.
Hon.Osahon Igiebor

Press Release.......

As we come close to another Saturday to decide the next 4years of our dear and lovely Nation, we must put sentiment aside and do the right thing.
Our nation have passed through the worst economic crises in the last 4years,a lot of our youth lost their jobs, poor governance and a lot of killings in the land, We can not decide to turn our eyes away from all this evil that is taking over this great land, we must not be discouraged by the postponement, let us all come out and vote out in competence, bad leadership, etc.
H.E Atiku Abubakar will make Nigeria work a again,no doubt about that but we all must come out and vote for him massively and defend our vote.if we don't come out we are going to be creating vacuum in our democracy because when there’s a vacuum in our democracy, when we don’t vote, when we take our basic rights and freedoms for granted, when we turn away and stop paying attention and stop engaging and stop believing and look for the newest diversion, the electronic versions of bread and circuses, then other voices fill the void. A politics of fear and resentment and retrenchment takes hold. They promise to clean up corruption and then plunder away. They start undermining norms that ensure accountability, trying to change the rules to entrench their evil power and cabals further.
These are extraordinary times. And they’re dangerous times. But here’s the good news as nigerian In few days we have the chance, not the certainty but the chance, to restore dignity and sanity to our politics in this Country.
We are the antidote to bring about the deaired change, our participation and our spirit and our determination, not just in this election but in other subsequent election.

Because in the end, The biggest threat to our democracy is cynicism – a cynicism that’s led too many people to turn away from politics and stay home on election day.

We must remember now that the young people who have attained the age of voting and have collected their PVC are now more, as eligible voters in our generation than in any other, which means our generation now has more power than anybody to change things. If you want it, you can make sure Nigeria gets out of its current bad governance. If you actually care about it, you have the power to make sure we seize a brighter future. But to exercise that clout, to exercise that power, you have to show up and vote PDP, Vote AtikuObi for prosperity for all Nigerian.

Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria

Long live the Peoples Democratic party

Osun Petition: INEC Castigated for Wasting Court's Time

*Failed to Present Witnesses
* Asked for adjournment till the 24th.
*Tribunal Judges Angry at Delay Tactics
* Let INEC Surrender if...Oke,SAN

Osun election petition tribunal opened today with the electoral commission recieving harsh criticism following its failure to present witnesses for examination before the court.

In a blistering reaction ,the panel chairman chided the INEC for failing to organise itself and for employing delay tactics contrary to the admonition of the court.

"Borrow a leaf from the petitioners. They were organised and ready and were able to present 80 witnesses. They are not in government ,yet they are this organised and can plan their resources",the panel chairman declared.

The sitting had opened with the counsel to INEC seeking adjournment till next week on the ground that  the witnesses to Present before the court are not yet available.

The counsel who was apologising profusely however got more than what he bargained for when the Tribunal chairman tackled him with barrage of questions and condemnations for treating the court with levity.

"Election petiton is an Emergency and so must run from day to day unlike regular court proceedings. Borrow a leaf from the petitioners. We are conscripted by time. Our albatross are the lawyers ;you like to see us suffer. What is so difficult in presenting your witnesses?"

"We have read your submission. What is delaying your witnesses .Is it that you have not prepared them since the time you submitted the evidence?",the panel chairman retorted.

Counsels to APC and Gboyega Oyetola however supported the INEC counsel, explaining logistics issues behind the inability of the witnesses to appear today.

The counsel to the petitioner ,N.O.Oke in his contribution supported the concerns raised by the panel chairman as he said the development points to INEC having no defence against the petition of his client.

"My Lord,if INEC has no defence against our petition, I urge them to throw in their towel and surrender now to our petition",Oke said.

Ruling on the matter ,the tribunal rejected request for adjournment till 24th and ruled that the sitting  is adjourned till today 10am.
