This is more the reason why Nigerians MUST hold their State Governors far more accountable [since like you accurately stated, the Governors are receiving massive monthly Federation allocations] NOT President 'Bola Tinubu IMHO. 'Bola Tinubu ensured the huge monthly allocations reached the State Governors being that they are CLOSER to the people on the street level so that they can benefit directly from improved agricultural innovations leading to bumper harvests, cheaper transportation through the use of the cheaper CNG-fueled vehicles, BETTER housing and more. Alex Otti of Abia State and several State Governors have acknowledged these FACTS hence many of the Governors have praised the Nigerian President for ensuring that they receive the BIGGEST monthly allocations ever in Nigerian history and the states pay salaries on time according to the Governors.

The Yobe State Governor for instance is one of those who bought and distributed free tractors to farmers in that State. I wasn't surprised when I first saw an AIT report online in early 2026 indicating that Yobe State (which has had security issues) has the lowest inflation rate at single-digit among ALL the 36 States of Nigeria with the abundance of cheap food due to bumper harvests by farmers who were given free tractors and other agricultural inputs!

The Governors especially in some of the Southern State have NO sense of urgency to improve the lives of their residents hence the lack of proper investments in the agriculture ecosystem and folks have complained of very expensive transportation and unbearable house rents especially in Lagos State. The House of Assembly in Lagos State claimed they are currently deliberating on reducing the very high rents on houses in Lagos.

I strongly believe that massive demonstrations MUST be done by the masses of nearly ALL the States to wake those Governors up and trigger them into investing in improving the cost of living by introducing effective transportation with CNG fuel infrastructure for all transporters and cheaper CNG haulage trucks to bring food items from the farm gates to the urban areas while ensuring that farmers sell directly to the buyers and cut off the middlemen who have arbitrarily inflated the cost of food items just to make quick bucks. Lagos State is already doing that with the sale of cheaper food items at the modern Food Hubs in Mushin, Sangotedo on Lekki Peninsula and Pen Cinema in Agege. Farmers and producers selling directly to end-users increases purchasing power with more things to buy. It's ALL in the hands of these Governors like Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State to see to the well being of their State indigenes and residents. That's the ONLY way they can easily get reelected into office otherwise they will get humiliated at the NEXT elections in January 2027. Period.

National economy is always determined by the policies of the federal government. It is not even a Nigerian thing. It is irresponsible of Tinubu to believe he can shift his responsibility to state governors. Subsidies are not burdens for state governments. Otherwise you have a nation of dysfunctional units.

Trump, Xi and Putin's economic policies directly affect all their citizens. Petrol and currency management are federal responsibility anywhere in the world. How does Tinubu expect state governors lead these sectors? Trump's policy directly affects pump price on the US. Putin's Ukraine invasion is taking a toll on their domestic pump price.

Those two reckless policies of the president have left this country's economy in tatters. He now wants to take his next mismanagement step to the power sector. Nigeria is a federal republic, until it becomes otherwise, the federal government cannot push its core duties to state governors.

Anyway we will see who bears the brunt in next year's general elections. You can keep making a case for the federal government, till then.

She is right, i have asked a custom and immigration female officer for her phone number at the airport surprisingly she gave me her number we had a few dates for some reasons i lost her contact, last time i complemented a female soldier at the the airport again told her she looked gorgeous in her soldier uniform she blushed thanked me and I asked for her number she said No! Don't blame them. They are caught up in a damaged system. In this car, even after petitioning the police or the EFCC, investigations must first be carried out to know the full details of the contract. Then the police or EFCC will invite the contractor before they can talk about arrest or not.

Unfortunately, our politicians have destroyed all our institutions so much that lawlessness now looks normal. That's why one 'big' can order the arrest of a 'small' man without recourse to rule of law. It's a ruined system.
