I sabi two men wey run Bucaneers for uni. One of them thats my senior in secondary school was recently showing off himself on Facebook in red jacket during one of the seadog procession.
Pirate is now like a kind of elite social club and since it has had no ties with violence since the 80s many are proud to get affiliated with it.
With the fact that pirates are not active in the tertiary educational system, the cross carpeting may be possible after graduation. I am talking based on just 2 former Bucaneers i know. Someone may need to answer your question better.

Well As a member of some other confraternity it is very unlikely you would be able to cross carpet to become a pyrate..
I have been a pyrate since 2015 back in Uni days and I or the confraternity was never involved in any cult related fight...

Although there was some confrontation with Aiye at a time but we settled without really going to War.. One thing is other confraternities in a way respect PC coz we barely fight and remain unseen most times..
But trust me there is a whole lot to PC that can be known or seen from outside. PC can be deadly as well.


My best advice is to just don't join any confraternity regardless.. I am an Ahoy and I advice you shouldn't really ..
