Speaking during a public appearance, Akpabio stated that the current administration has made significant progress in tackling insurgency and violent attacks across the country.

According to him, insurgent groups can no longer openly control territories or raise their flags in Nigeria the way they allegedly did in previous years.

He also claimed that organized bomb attacks that once created fear in different parts of the country have greatly reduced under President Tinubu’s administration.

“Tinubu has done very well,” Akpabio reportedly stated while defending the government’s security efforts.

However, his comments immediately triggered heated reactions online.

While some Nigerians agreed with the Senate President and acknowledged improvements in certain areas, many others strongly disagreed with his assessment of the country’s security situation.

Several social media users argued that despite the reduction in high-profile bomb attacks, many communities across Nigeria still reportedly face kidnappings, killings, and attacks from armed groups.

Others accused political leaders of being disconnected from the daily struggles and fears faced by ordinary Nigerians.
