Bellotelli: This news is misleading.. We only heard of herders which includes mainly women, children, men cattles and their livestocks. And from information gathered so far, nothing incriminating has been found with them. So I don't see the reasons for labelling an entire tribe as bandits by leadership. Since they are from Niger republic they should be excorted back. So why did those schools closed down? |

Infact it has been said since the 1950s that Nigeria is a contraption. Why it still works is because the alternative is anarchy. And what's happening in neigria now is not anarchy? |

Anndav: Hunnn am a graduate of food science (25 years ago) ....and I think food science is very good ( my opinion)
But to do PGD with food science as background studies you can only go for food related courses like microbiology, ( food industrial) or become a nutritionist, or a dietician... something food related Psychologist does not have any relationship with dat except there is something food psychology maybe management for ppl with functional way of eating.( Do ur research) But if there is nothing like dat then it's not possible Do you think it will make sense if I start over and take another bsc degree in psychology at 24? |

ttmacoy: I see you're already in the Canada student visa forum so bet to go through to read about people's experience and ask questions specific to student visas.
It is not easy in the sense that a significant proportion of Canadian student visa applications from Nigeria are refused compared to say UK student visa.
The fact you are supposedly being sponsored by someone you met online raises lots of red flags and to me the first question you should focus on is if the guy is ready to pay you tuition and all fees? Without that none of this matters unless you can get the funding from somewhere else. Thank you sir |

Spectro: I should add that if you intend to scam him, that is a very wicked thing to do.
And if you don't intend to scam him, then know that he will be haunted by your ingratitude in the long run if you do not reciprocate one way or the other. Hence, he will come to despise you.
That money is too much... That's huge sacrifice. I won't be an ingrate, I understand. Thank you |

My dear take it easy, just take a deep breath and sleep over the many advice you have been given
Anything that look to go or easy to be true naturally needs patience and caution, before a small favor will turn you to an international criminal or something worse
It could also be Help from God am not ruling it out , even at that it's important to tread cautiously I'll graduate this year and I'll be 23 this year. I studied food science and technology but I want to study psychology in my PGD, can that work? |
Travel › Re: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant Part 2 by Mayniaa: 1:42pm On Apr 29, 2021 |
Spectro: VOs find cases like this very sensitive.
You will need to provide a lot of documents proving your relationship to this person.
A friend sponsoring you carries less weight than a parent, spouse, brother or sister doing the sponsoring.
You are friends with this person, but it's merely online friendship for now.
This further complicates the situation.
Plus, Nigerians have a certain reputation with scams, and the VO is likelier to think that something is fishy.
Judging by the fact that you are confident that this person wants to support you (I can think of a few reasons why he would), then it's possible it's not a scam (I'm not saying it isn't. I'm just saying it's possible).
Getting student visa is hard enough... Do not make it harder for yourself. Alright, thank you |
Travel › Re: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant Part 2 by Mayniaa: 1:15pm On Apr 29, 2021 |
Spectro: If you are positive you will complete your degree this year, send application to a school abroad for MSc or PGD (depending on your 2-1 or 2-2 class), and ask your friend to pay the application fee. If he can do that, then I may be wrong.
Study path is the only way. He must not even be included as a sponsor in your application.
All he has to do is pay your tuition when the time comes, and then you show proof of living expense to VOs (without stating that he is your sponsor). You should have a talk with him so that he will understand.
The proof of personal fund must be a constant flow of income before the application date, not a lump sum.
So, think about it. Why can't he be listed as my sponsor? So they can use his bank statement for living expenses? |

Mikhaa23: just because you're smart, he wants to sponsor you??. That's nice ooo. Lol. Ask your question. I studied food science and technology, but I don't really like it, for my PGD can I go for psychology? |
Travel › Re: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant Part 2 by Mayniaa: 12:49pm On Apr 29, 2021 |
Mikhaa23: not to indulge. It means you're a guy and a fellow guy wants you over. Which means getting married won't be possible cause we're in nigeria. Just apply through school. Let him either send you the cash to apply which I don't know if that would work. Or you use his bank statement. Just be careful He said I'm smart, that I have more potential blah blah, we are just good friends. His bank statement? Will he be the one filing it himself, if yes I think that should work. I also have questions about applying through school. Can I ask? |

Spectro: That is what many people think.
If I want to scam you, it will be very easy, if you go by this logic.
Anyway, everyone has advised you based on what they think you should do.
The ball is now in your court. We met in a funny way that's why I said if there's any scam it's me. Thanks man I appreciate. What they are saying is I should come through studies, applying for a degree, is that your stand too? |

onyexx: Things like this are usually fishy...even if you are 100% sure the guy wants to sponsor you, what’s the guarantee that he is not trying to launder money through you?
As others have suggested, try to complete your undergrad, apply for studies and if possible look out for scholarship opportunities, or go for your NYSC, get the required 3yrs work experience, save up some money and then begin your express entry process #My2Cents
In other news, Baba God, this lesson on patience ehn, I have learnt it o...it have do!!!please allow me graduate from the school of patience, take away Covid and give us PPR.....13months post AOR ko easy... Thank you. |

ttmacoy: Well that’s the first step, you then need to get admission and apply for the visa and convince the immigration officer that you’re coming as a true student and that they believe the guy will truly sponsor you.
Canadian student visa is not easy to get FYI In what terms is it not easy? Please can you explain better. What about a post graduate programme, that too is not easy? |
