Californium is a radioactive metallic chemical element with symbol Cf. The element was first made in 1950 at the University of California Radiation Laboratory in Berkeley, and it has the second-highest atomic mass of all the elements that have been produced in amounts large enough to see with the unaided eye. It was named after the university and the state of California. Californium is sold for about $27 million per gram and only about 8 grams of it have been made in the western world since its discovery by Seaborg in 1950. Arguably the most valuable natural resource on earth is the element californium. In its most common seen form, the isotope californium-252, the half-life is less than three years(about 2.6 years); scientists who wish to use this element have very little time to work with very little californium. Californium is used in the medical field as a cancer treatment, and it is also great at starting reaction processes for nuclear reactors. This exciting element can as well be used as a neutron source to identify gold and silver ores through a technique known as neutron activation. It is also being used in devices known as neutron moisture gauges that are used to find water and oil bearing layers in oil wells. The californium used in practical applications is manmade, but it does occur naturally in trace amounts. Source: http://www.morelight.ml/2016/02/is-californium-most-valuable-natural.html?m=1 |
Studies have shown that there are harmful electromagnetic radiation that occur when our phones are operated. This radiations are said to be more when phones are used to make calls or when they are receiving messages. I have even read from a message to me on whatsapp, that the radiation from mobile phone increase when the phone battery is very low. In order to use our phones safely, I will first of all advice that we keep the usage of our phones to minimum. Also; 1. Keep the handset if possible at least 2 to 7 inches away from your head , use earphones (hands free) or loudspeaker mode. It decreases the transmission of electro-magnetic radiation to the brain significantly. 2. When keeping your cell phones in pocket, keep the screen towards you so that antenna faces away from you. This will also protect the screen of your handset being broken. 3. Avoid cell phones usage in metal containers such as Elevators, Airplanes, Trains and any other type of metal container as it increases the Electro Magnetic Radiation. I think it is one of the reasons why there is provision for us to switch the phones to airplane mode. Read More From: http://www.morelight.ml/2016/02/morelightml-7-must-read-cell-phone.html?m=1 |

By Owolabi Meshach. Loneliness is the feeling of depression resulting from being alone. And there is difference between being alone and feeling lonely. “Alone” is a state of being by oneself without others around, and there is actually nothing unhealthy about it since everyone needs a little time away from others to ponder on some things, plan, consider or simply to rest. But loneliness is different as it a feeling that is depressing. While its normal to feel lonely or isolated from time to time, too much loneliness can be unhealthy and dangerous.
