PRESS RELEASE Over 5 million Have Applied for N-Power Batch-C The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs Disaster Management and Social Development wishes to officially inform the general public that registration of Batch C of N-Power has closed on Sunday 9th of August, 2020. The registration which commenced on the 26th of June 2020 was initially scheduled to end on the 26th of July but the Ministry extended the date by two weeks to avail those that were unable to do so to apply. A total of 5,042,001 Nigerian youths have applied as at the end of the exercise. In a statement in Abuja on Monday 10th of August, 2020, the Honorable Minister, Sadiya Umar Farouq, re-assured Nigerians that due diligence will be applied during the next stages of the selection to ensure that only duly qualified applicants are enrolled. The Ministry will ensure that the applicants, as well as the general public, are kept fully informed on the progress of the scheme. The Honorable Minister further added that the N-Power program is aimed to provide the Nigerian youths with opportunities to gain skills for employability and entrepreneurship which will also go along way in assisting the country towards the post Covid 19 economic recovery. She added that women and persons with disability will be prioritized during the selection. Sadiya Umar Farouq added that her Ministry remains committed to the vision of President Muhammadu Buhari to lift 100 Hundred million Nigerians out of Poverty in the next l0 years and identified the N-power as one of the platforms that can assist in the realization of that vision. 9. Tradesmen/women.
a. Applicants applying as tradesmen and women must be
between 18 and 25 years of age except for those applying as
assistant chaplains/ imams and drivers who must be between
18 and 28 years.
b. Applicants must possess at least a lower credit in ND/NCE
or any relevant trade certificates from reputable and approved
Government institutions/organisations, with a minimum of 2
passes and a credit in English in not more than 2 sittings in
SSCE/NECO/GCE/NABTEB.
c. Applicants applying as drivers must posses a minimum of 2
passes in SSCE/NECO/GCE/NABTEB, with a credit in English
and trade test certificate.
d. Applicants applying as sportsmen/women are to present
evidence of their professional experience which should include
certificates and medals. |
QUALIFICATIONS
4. Applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth.
5. Applicants must not be less than 1.66m tall for male and
not less than 1.63m tall for female.
6. Applicants must be medically and physically fit.
7. Applicants must be free of any previous conviction(s) on
criminal ground, by a court of law.
8. Non Tradesmen/women.
a. Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 22 years by
30 June 2021.
b. Applicants must possess a minimum of 5 credits, including
Mathematics and English, in not more than 2 sittings in SSCE/
NECO/GCE/NABTEB. |
2. Applicants are to apply once. Multiple applications will be
disqualified.
3. Applicants are to print out the underlisted documents after
completion of the online application:
a. Local Government Indigeneship Form.
b. Attestation Form to be signed by a Military Officer or Local
Government Chairman of the Applicant.
c. Parent/Guardian Consent Form.

Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs Announces Transition Of N-Power Monitors. The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development has announced the transitioning of Independent Monitors recruited to monitor Batch A and B of the N-Power programme as well as other National Social Investment Programmes. The National Social Investment Programme (NSIP) was inaugurated by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2016 with the mandate of lifting citizens out of poverty through a number of Social Interventions which include N-Power, National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme (NHGSFP), Conditional Cash Transfer Programme (CCT), and the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP). In her statement following the announcement, the Honourable Minister, Sadiya Umar Farouq, thanked the Independent Monitors “for their service in monitoring the activities and programmes of the National Social Investment Programmes. As we commence the transition of Batch A and B N-Power beneficiaries, the ministry will conclude activities of the Independent Monitors enrolled with those two batches by 31st July 2020. The Federal Government appreciates their support during the period of engagement and looks forward to on-boarding a new set of monitors with the roll-out of the Integrated National Social Investment Programme, set to kick off when the new N-Power Batch C beneficiaries come onboard”. Enrolment of beneficiaries for N-power Batch C commenced on Friday June 26 2020 and has received over 3 Million applications since the portal opened.
