The support we will offer:

Prior to your first UK visit, we will run courses to help you develop your study and research skills, and to understand the culture and way of life and work in the UK.

We will offer reception and orientation in the UK.

Throughout your studies, we will provide support in welfare matters, UK accommodation, general communications, liaison matters.

We will also give necessary assistance with learning on the job, on line activities, mentoring and project supervision.


The delivery pattern:

Over a period of three years students will be required to visit the university on three occasions in total. 5 weeks from Monday 13th October 2014 to Friday 14th November 2014; note that the latest arrival time on campus is Sunday 12th October. The next 5 weeks period is Feb/March 2016 and a final week in 2017 for assessment of the project dissertation. During each five week period they will receive Industrial Awareness & Intensive Teaching; 60 credits of taught modules.

The rest of the course is online with local tutorial support and online support from Teesside University staff as and when required.. Coursework and assignments and virtually all of their MSc project work will be completed in Nigeria. Where there is formal examination as part of the assessment, this will take place at the British Council office in Lagos.

Supervision of their MSc projects would involve an academic supervisor from the university and (to be explored) a second supervisor based in Nigeria who will be suitably qualified and trained at Teesside University.
