The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs Doyin Okupe says the recent statement credited to the All Progressive Congress (APC) spokesman Lai Mohammed that the Federal Government underrated the capacity of Boko Haram is far from the truth. Okupe told newsmen at a briefing in Abuja on Wednesday that it is also not that the Federal Government delayed attempts to rout the insurgents to score political points. “The first instance, what President Goodluck Jonathan said in the interview which has been mischievously twisted by the APC was that at the outset of the Boko Haram activities, the group was treated as local insurgent group in view of the fact that there was scanty information on its global network in training, funding and supply of arms.” He said the recent success recorded by the Nigerian military is as a result of the deployment of a specially trained anti-terrorism Combat Squad, the acquisition and deployment of more sophisticated military hardware and the recent deployment of troops by neighbouring countries. “It will be recalled that on the 2nd of June 2013, the APC presidential candidate Gen. Muhammadu Buhari who was then the leader of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) criticized the declaration of state of emergency in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe States and the subsequent military offensive against the Boko Haram sect.” Okupe expressed optimism that the fight against insurgency will soon be over.

The current offensive by the Nigerian Armed Forces against the Boko Haram insurgents has led to the recapture of several towns and communities that used to be under the control of the terror group, as well as the seizure of a large cache of arms and ammunition. We take a look at the Nigerian military and the Multi-National Joint Task Force’s renewed efforts to rout the insurgents from the country’s North East. Following the shift in the 2015 General Elections due to the security challenges in the country’s North East, the current Nigerian military offensive has led to the invasion of the Sambisa forest, killing hundreds of the insurgents and destroying their camps. The military success recorded in the renewed fight against Boko Haram in the country’s North East has raised hopes, creating a morale booster for many as the activities of the terror group had constituted a major threat to the survival and unity of the Nigerian State. The turning of the tide of the Nigerian Military against Boko Haram is attributed to new strategies, arrival of sophisticated armaments and support of the Multi-National Joint Task Force clobbered by the current Military Onslaught, the Boko Haram terror group has reverted to attacks on soft targets as witnessed in suicide bombings in Kano and Potiskum. The recent successes of the Nigerian Military against Boko Haram have tended to restoring their rating as one of the best Military in the world. |

A Girl started noticing a Guy standing in-front of her home everyday in the evening. She started observing him after coming back from college & week-ends. The guy never tried to talk to her nor showed any gesture, he just moves here & there by looking into his mobile and occasionally looking at her. It went on like that for a year and the Girl understood the Guy's love for her & his decent behaviour. So, she told her parents. They too saw him & liked him. They called her grand parents too to decide about the marriage. So, everyone told her to go & talk to him as he seem too shy... Next day she went to him & said: "Hi... I'm Radha.." Guy: "Hi... I'm Krishna.." Hearing this the Girl was very happy as the names were matching like Lord Krishna & Radha Devi. Girl went on & said: "I really appreciate ur patience & decency. U have been standing infront of my home everyday for about a year now. So, I understand that u love me so much... & I too love u and want to marry U". Guy: Smiled & Said.... "Forgive me sister! Actually Ur home's WIFI doesn't have a password. So, I come here to use free wi-fi to chat with my Girlfriend...!!!"... |

Former governor of Adamawa state, Murtala Nyako has accused the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice Ibrahim Auta of frustrating his case challenging the legality of his impeachment by allegedly withdrawing the case file from the Adamawa division of the court. Nyako wants Justice Auta to release the case file to the Yola division of the Federal High Court immediately to enable the court deliver judgment in the interest of justice. Murtala Nyako was impeached by the Adamawa State House of Assembly in 2014 for gross misconduct arising from the misappropriation of funds and other offences. Since then he has been in court to challenge the constitutionality of his impeachement, but the former governor alleged that Justice Ibrahim Auta withdrew the case file few days to the delivery of judgement by trail Judge, Justice Bilikisu Aliyu. In a petition, Nyako has also alleged that the Chief Judge of Adamawa state, Justice Ishaya Banu is frustrating his legal action by delaying proceedings in the matter which he allegedly assigned to himself therby subverting the course of justice. But the Chief Registrar of the Federal High Court, Rosemary Oghoghorie dismissed the allegation stating that counsel in the suit, Festus Keyamo representing the Chief Judge of Adamawa state, Justice Ishaya Banu had petitioned Justice Bilikisu Aliyu on ground of denial of fair hearing and forwarded same to the CJ. She added that Justice Auta called for the case file to ascertain the genuiness of the allegation of denial of fair hearing. Oghoghorie added that the Court of Appeal, Yola division granted a stay of proceedings in the matter on Tuesday which implies that none of the parties can take any futher step on the matter.

Formed in February 2013, the party is the result of an alliance by Nigeria's three biggest opposition parties – the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) - and a faction of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) – merged to take on the People's Democratic Party . [6][7] The resolution was signed by Tom Ikimi , the current spokesman for the party, who represented the ACN; Senator Annie Okonkwo on behalf of the APGA; former governor of Kano State, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau, the Chairman of ANPP's Merger Committee; and Garba Sadi, the Chairman of CPC's Merger Committee. [8] The party received approval from the nation's electoral umpire Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on 31 July 2013 to become a political party and subsequently withdrew the operating licenses of the three previous and merging parties (the ACN, CPC and ANPP). In March 2013, it was reported that two other associations – African Peoples Congress and All Patriotic Citizens – also applied for INEC registration, adopting APC as an acronym as well, reportedly "a development interpreted to be a move to thwart the successful coalition of the opposition parties, ahead of the 2015 general elections." [9] It was reported in April 2013 that the party was considering changing their name to the All Progressive Congress of Nigeria (APCN) to avoid further complications. [10] The Nigerian middle class see the emerging APC has the alternative to the ruling PDP and it is yet to be seen the effects on the political calculations towards the 2015 elections. The ruling PDP has congratulated the APC for her registration as a political party but was quick to note that the APC is no threat to its electoral chances. On 25 November, Five Governors in the existing ruling party announced their decision to join APC, as well as 49 legislators[11] who will now join the rank of 137 legislators in the APC upon prior merger of the smaller opposition parties; [12] giving it a slim majority of 186 legislators in the Lower House, with a defection of 11 legislators on 29 January 2014 it has gain the majority of legislators in the upper house with a number of 58. [13] However, only 37 legislators have formally made the switch as at 18 December 2013, giving APC a nominal majority of 172 of 360 Legislators, as against PDP's 171 as some PDP allied, smaller parties hold some other seats. [14] This was further confirmed when the party seated 179 members on January 15, 2015 when the House resumed after a long recess to finally affirm its majority [15] On 12–13 December 2014, the APC was admitted as a consultative member into the Socialist International .

Love at first sight is an experience and a common trope in literature in which a person, character, or speaker feels an instant and extreme romantic attraction for a stranger on the first sight of them. |
