EMMAACHILE:
Both of you guys don't get me. If for example, I want to open a drop shipping store on either shopify or woocommerce today, what are my payment options?

I even saw him recommending Us PayPal! Even my worst enemy, I will not advise to use a foreign PayPal account.

Nigeria is limited by the number of payment gateways. The only two I know work here are cashenvoy (30 days funds held) and voguepay (10 days funds held). Is this dropshipping? This means you need to have funds to run an eccomerce platform in Nigeria thus cannot be said to be dropshipping.

I also know a lilttle about stripe atlas where you open a us bank account and register a business before you are put on an international gateway payment.

Summary of all this long English is this; Dropshipping is not suitable for a Nigerian living in Nigeria because your options are seriously limited.
Thats the only solution you know of but is not limited to it. You are right too, Nigeria is seriously limited

Bro, I have tried really hard to let you understand that with woocomerce, you will be just fine running an international e-commerce store from Nigeria. But all you could come up to say is that I'm beating around the bush?

Well, I will just pretend that you didn't say such.

I think you don't understand theory, so I'm going to give you practical.
You need to know that some of us don't just appear from no where to say what we don't know, but that we actually know what's up.

To further convince/prove to you and anybody that Nigerians at home can actually run an international e-commerce store, I've re-activated the store section of my website (in my signature) which I previously deactivated because like I earlier said, I'm not ready for e-commerce now.

I've put up some few items in that store including a DIY US PayPal account guide. If you need a PayPal personal or business account, you can go over to Kikimat Store and order the guide now with your Credit Card or Bitcoin and open your PayPal account by yourself in less than 1hr.

Now, this Kikimat Store is available internationally, and anybody can order from that store from anywhere in the world. Billed in $$$, and is run on Woocomerce. The store accept Bitcoin and all major credit cards including Visa, Mastercard, Discover, AmericanExpress etc

Kikimat is operated from Nigeria by a Nigerian at home and therefore prove beyond any atom of doubt that Nigerians at home can actually run an international e-commerce store.

You will want to ask Google which woocomerce payment gateway is available to Nigerians running internationally?

That's not my concern. I was only concern about your erroneous believe/acertion that Nigerians at home cannot run an international e-commerce store.
He will be convinced

I won't advice anybody to use 2chexkout. They are a hell of a company! I tried using them early this year, but they stress the hell out of me! Finally, after providing all the documents they requested, they then went ahead and asked for my my website Admin login details. Imagine that? I mean what on earth will make a company want to know the Admin login details of another company that they are not providing hosting for? It was crazy. They deliberately wasted my time and finally turned me down by asking for site's admin login details. What then did I do? Of course I'm yet to get back to them till date. Very terrible company.
They are not a terrible company, they are just doing their job. Nigeria is labeled a bad country, why wont they ask for excess detail? If you can give your hosting company your cpanel details, what's the difference, what the hell will a big company like 2checkout have to do with a small start up, scam you or what? Trust is an issue for every Nigerian, we tend to be extra careful but when that careful tendencies is needed, we relapse.

I spent 2 weeks before they approved me, had to wait for emails from Katy everyday. So much time cos I never knew what they needed. But as it is, if you are applying for them as a new person, I think is no longer possible.

Point of corrections...

1.Not a matter of Try.. That is what i am currently doing okay.. Abi u wan see my balance ni

2. Dont say wetin u no know okay. Like i been dun talk use your head.

Na the product be the thing.. Product wey go scatter market na ppl go the rush to buy first..
And when you advertise or promote make it ckear your site only accepts bitcoins na dem go pay u... Who doesn't know bitcoins is taking over..
Also u put up a page on your store about how to use bitcoin, signing up, funding wallet, and making payments just like a standard site will do it...

Let this page be in the menu at the header of your site where we have other navigations like catalog... etc thousands already know abt btc those that dont know will read and learn.. Guy!
Why u de dull me...!

Do things well and see the results . Once again na products be am okay
An eCommerce site accepting only BITCOIN? Is a feasible choice if only you sell crypto related products, you target lovers of bitcoin and your payment processor is willing to accept blames when it comes to returns and complaints.

Yes bitcoin is popular, but its anonymous nature does not give room for trust and accountability, added to fluctuations. You spoke about educating your potential buyers of how to make bitcoin transactions. Are you there to educate or make sales? Your visitors sole purpose is to come buy and leave, they have other things doing.

Is advised you only use it as an alternative method else you will have endless -ve ROI

Hi bro,

You're doing a wonderful job in trying to put people through in this business.

I have been doing a lot of research on the drop shipping business lately and I'll like to start my own. However, the payment gateway to use has been the major bone of contention. I will like to chat with you on this and many other things. Can I have your phone number please?

easyresource:
i started dropshipping not too long and some of the challenges i have and some i had submounted would be stated below, but first. As a dropshipper (i hope there is a word like that), u get products (not buy o) but fill your shopify store with products from merchants on aliexpress (or other ecommerce sites) using a tool called oberlo.

With oberlo i only select products that offer free shipping with higher orders and sellers with higher ranking (this is within my niche ofcourse). So I then change some settings on both my oberlo app and shopify store(watch youtube video online for more help on this).
This allows my buyers to pay for products on my store (prices are in USD ofcourse, NB. buyers address will be listed during placing of order) and then i contact the seller, pay for the good and provide the address of the client for shipping (i also give the merchant some instructions so that the client doesnt know am dropshipping it-coded things).

Some of the key point for MY business model are;
- i target/market or sell to people in the US (free shipping is quicker and much easier)
- i choose product with free shipping, higher seller rank and high order rate
- i change my shipping address to a US address

(those are some i can think of for now)

My challenges are, although u can pay for shopify plan using a Nigerian debit card, but for your site payment processor u cant use most of the payment gateway listed on shopify unless paypal and that leads to my second challenge,

its common knowledge (i hope it is) that with paypal, u can use it to make payment once u fund it, but u cant receive payment with it (to d best of my knowledge ni o, i know some people are waited to pounce, i cant fight o) but i opened a business account with my paypal and i was able to use it as my payment processor. reason why u need this is that since i am targeting US market only, my payment processor must be able to process USD denomination cards.(not even paystack would help)

The other issue is that with paypal as my payment processor, i can receive, but to collect my money now is wahala. But dont fret, am testing an hypothesis, if u have a dollar card, like the one gtbank issues, u can link it to ur paypal business account and when fund get to ur paypal u can add it to ur wallet (card) and use the atm to withdraw. shikena.

I hope this help, and for all u who know more than me, pls teach me with suru, no insults - insinuated or directly implied will not be tolerated angry. Thank you
Nice...simple and straight.. cool cool

Do you guys think that drop shipping in Nigeria could be very practicable and profitable without glitches? I mean drop shipping from Chinese manufacturers/suppliers (or even Nigerian manufacturers/suppliers) to Nigerian customers here in Nigeria... Is that gonna work?

I have a good dot NG domain which I currently use as a blog, but I have recently installed woocommerce on it and want to remodel it into a full-fledged drop shipping/E-commerce entity, but focused on Nigeria. What do you think is involved here?
So much possible...there local payment gateways in Nigeria. Personally I have not tested any, and my friend who has a hosting business keeps complaining of gateway timeout, payment going through on one end, while on the other it says failed. My point is this, Nigerian payment gateways are yet to have everything handsfree for her user, is too tiring using one. The truth is this SA, KY and GH payment gateways are much better than our own country....guys mek una no fry me ooo, 9ja nid beta payment processors.

So, if you can find a good one here, intergrate it to your wordpress site or go raw and code your site yourself (much better). Dropshipping from China to Nigeria is cool, but do you think your customers can wait for days or you have customers willing to pay exhobitant shipping fees for quick delivery? Maybe you will look for Nigerian fullfillment services, there are many here...in all, is more costly maintaining a local dropshipping business than an international one.

gboyetade:
How can I go about creating one?
Basis:

1. Search out trends; trendy, viral or seasonal,
2. Look for them in aliexpress or alibaba or taboo or ebay or use teespring
3. Think about which payment gateway will be easy for you. Google up eCom Payment Gateways
4. Reg for shopify 60 days trial and have your $29 for basic plan after trial expires or buy wordpress hosting and use WoCommerce or Prestashop
5. Stock up and edit ur site
6. Advertise ur new business
7. Drink beer while you deal with costumer inventory...etc

Anymore, am up for hire...goodluck

Drop shipping will work by using a foreign market target like USA and using tools like oberloo or oaxray or blacklister, etc.
The best platform is still shopify.
Shopify yes, if you are looking to list much products and have a handsfree stuff, there are better options though...just search them out.
